PATTAYA – August 27, 2013 [PDN]; A spokesperson of Banglamung Police station had informed journalists and tourists that 2 transexuals or ladyboys are being wanted after they had drugged and nicked the pick-up car of a tourist at a motel.

The two Pakistani victims known as 29 year-old Abdal Stagg and 39 year-old Irshad Anupa were said to have been drugged by the two after they had taken the ladyboys out for sexual purposes. Little did they know that the two actually targeted their belongings, one of which belongings was a car.

Investigation officers have tried observing video footage recorded by the motel’s CCTV system. Unluckily, the CCTV system was broken. However, Banglamung Police are trying their best to uncover and arrest the suspects as soon as possible.

On the night of 11th September a 32 year old tourist from Oman was stabbed in the stomach after an angry encounter with a bar worker in Soi 15 off Walking Street.

The crime initially went unreported but Police have now announced they are aware of the identity of the suspect and an arrest warrant has been issued for him.

The wanted man is Khun Tewalit aged 23 who was seen on CCTV talking with the foreign tourist. It seemed the tourist was apologizing for something when a fight broke out between the pair. The Thai suspect was much smaller than his foreign opponent and retreated for a time and returned with a knife.

A short chase down Walking Street occurred and when the suspect caught up with the victim he stabbed him in his stomach before fleeing the scene.

The victim is now recovering from his injuries in a Hospital in Bangkok as Police search for the suspect so he can be brought to justice.

I see a new ladyboy bar called Fantasy bar is due to open  Soi Buakhao at the Soi Honey corner around 18 October.  ...

Notably, it's being opened by the former owner of Horny Bar/Soi 6. A little bird told me that some of the current Horny Bar staff may be moving over there as well once it is opened. Just FYI.

On Wednesday night a 30 year old Ukrainian made his way to Dongtan Police Station on Jomtien Beach and claimed he was able to escape from a group of men who claimed they were Pattaya Immigration Police Officers who would only release him in exchange for 1 Million Baht cash.

Mr. Sasha reported the incident to Police and revealed how a fellow Ukrainian had contacted him regarding the sale of his Honda PCX motorbike. He was told to take the bike to Jomtien Beach in front of the Welcome Jomtien Hotel where someone would come to inspect the bike with a view of purchasing the vehicle if it was in good condition.

Mr. Sasha waited for a time and was about to leave after no one came to inspect the bike. Suddenly a Honda City Car arrived and a group of Thai men emerged from the vehicle and claimed they were Immigration officers and Mr. Sasha was ordered into the car. While inside the car, he was told that he would be held by the men until 1 Million Baht was paid to them.

Mr. Sasha came up with a story that he would meet his friend at the Ambassador City Hotel in Na-Jomtien where he would collect the money. The men agreed to take Mr. Sasha to the hotel. When there, Mr. Sasha made-good his escape after a fight with the men who were determined to keep hold of their captive.

Members of the public took Mr. Sasha to the Police Station where officers examined CCTV footage from the area. Police claim they know who was responsible for the kidnapping and arrest warrants for them have now been issued. They suspect a Ukrainian gang planned the crime which is currently under investigation by Police who expect to make an arrest soon .

An update in the above kidnapping:

Pattaya Police announced on Thursday the arrest of two men in connection with the recent abduction of a Ukrainian national who was ordered to pay 1 Million Baht to secure his release.

It has now emerged that a fellow Ukrainian businessman based in Pattaya allegedly ordered the abduction as he was owed 1 Million Baht by the victim.

Khun Chanai aged 20 and Khun Piya aged 35 were detained on the strength of an arrest warrant on Thursday. A third abduction suspect Khun Wutipat aged 49 is still outstanding and the Ukrainian suspected of being behind the alleged crime has also yet to be arrested but has made it clear that he denies allegations he is involved.

The victim whose name has been confirmed as Mr. Alexander Konratenko aged 29 was abducted on Wednesday Night by a group of three men who claimed they were Immigration Police Officers who were detaining Mr. Konratenko in connection with immigration offenses. He was taken from Soi Welcome Jomtien Hotel off Jomtien Beach as he waited for a man who he thought was going to purchase his Honda PCX motorbike.

The two arrestees claim they work as debt collectors and have many foreign clients. On this occasion they claim to have received instructions from Mr. Illia Miasnikov aged 48, the owner of the Diamond TV Center on Pattaya Second Road which is a private company specializing in assisting Eastern Europeans based in Pattaya with a range of services.

Mr. Miasnikov allegedly employed the services of the three men who were due to receive commission if they could recover the 1 Million Baht.

The case continues as Police hunt for Mr. Miasnikov and the outstanding Thai suspect.

Dunno if Scott has publicized it anywhere here, but Jum's -- as in Sensations' Jum's -- birthday party is Monday, Oct. 7. Jum, of course, is the wee little bartender lass -- the one that someone always asks if she's a ladyboy when she ends up in the Sensations thread photos; she being the one that stands head to hip with most of the ladyboys that work there.

...and is possibly the nicest bartender in Pattaya.  As well as being a real honey in her own right, to boot.

Just a reminder for those who haven't checked the Famous Bar thread, that Saturday, October 5, is khun Karl's birthday.

Not sure if there's an official party, but I'm sure a few glasses will be raised to the birthday boy.

I wonder how he will arrange his birthday breakfast bacon and eggs....?

Police Bust Lithuanian 'ATM-Scamming' Gang

(13 October) Four Lithuanian nationals have been arrested in Pattaya on suspicion of cheating 5 million baht from ATMs with fake ATM cards.

The police gave the names of the suspects, transcribed from Thai text, as Mr. Raimontus Wisulis, 19; Mr. Kintaras Kaposus, 21; Mr. Paulus Rascaucas, 19; and Mr. Jilius Petraska, 19.

Officers also confiscated an ATM passcode reader machine along with 450 counterfeit ATM and credit cards.

Pol.Col. Suwan Chiaonawintawat said the police had received complaint from Siam Commercial Bank that it has lost large amount of money to individuals scamming the cash out of ATMs in Pattaya in recent days, so the police deployed detectives and informants around many potential crime scenes.

By the afternoon of 12 October, Pol.Col. Suwan said, the police were informed that the four Lithuanians could be seen acting suspiciously around an ATM in front of Good Inn Hotel.

The four were later arrested and confessed that they had been cashing ATMs with their fake cards, claiming that a German national had provided them with the necessary equipments in exchange with 5% cuts from the amount of money they had earned.

The suspects said they often fled to Bangkok and laid low for a while before returning to Pattaya in order to commit the crimes again. They had reportedly earned 5 million bahts with their scheme.

Police say they are searching for other suspects in connection with the four individuals.

This is good time to remind what to look out for with a "skimmer" compromised ATM - look for missing flashing lights around the card receptacle - check to see if the receptacle is flush with the rest of the ATM machine. If it protrudes, do not use it. Check if the card slides in easily and is not "tight".

If any one of these is noticeable, do not use the ATM, make a note and report it to the bank or police - look for another ATM to use.
