This is the Museum of New & Old Art based in Tasmania. It houses art worth over 100 million dollars & is of international significance. It was built by a former maths professor who donated it to his home state. He made his money at a young age in a short period of time. He was the subject of a large taxation office investigation who finally ruled that his money was legitimately his & wasn't taxable.

I'm sure there are many trivia questions that could arise from the contents of this museum but more interestingly, how did the owner make his money?

It is estimated to weigh 65 tons & was 26 metres in length & still growing.

I suspect we'll see another movie made  -  Jurassic Park: Return of the Dreadnoughtus.

Yes ineed , Correct Pacman the biggest Dinosaur that ever lived weighed at least 65 tons it has been discovered.

A  Boeing 747-900 weighs 45 tons by comparison , a herd of Elephants weighs around 60 tons

Ill take a stab

I know a few guys who made millions writing financial software for banks. My old next door neighbor and Buddy made 15 Million in a short space of time and the senior partner was making 1.5 Mill per day around 2000. The joke was that the software was simple but once one Bank bought it all the Banks followed and a queue formed ... ( no didnt buy any shares and kick myself every day, also the shares collapsed when the copyists followed))

Many Maths Profs are also PC software Geeks so i think he made his money writing some form of Tax Software

That's a logical guess TC but it's not correct. What he did to make millions was work out how to gamble & win. It was all based on maths, he was assisted by a couple of colleagues who are all retired millionaires today.

They are banned from every casino in the world but I read they also won big at horse racing & sports bets. They evolved some punting method which placed bets on every race & event where the mathematical probabilities were in their favour.

Having enjoyed a flutter myself over the years & having heard of such schemes which every experienced gambler is quick to dismiss as ridiculous, it came as a shock to discover someone had actually done it. Someone from Tasmania no less & he gave the city the Museum of New & Old Art as a little bequest.

A 100 million dollar gift sounds good but very affordable after they beat the tax office over a claim of something like a billion dollars. It's one of those stories you couldn't make up because no one would believe you.

i would think thats what he told the investigators , probably covering his arse from other Skulduggery.

For normal Casino games there is no system other than cheating, You cant  beat them  with maths , impossible ,only cheating  or luck these days . All the wrinkles , like card counting were ironed out ages ago. even with card counting ,and i used to do it, the advantage is small .

For  Race tracks i have no clue but would be suspicious for any maths based system

Behind every big fortune theres a big crime , as someone said

An understandable reaction TC, I felt the same myself. However these guys were the subject of much investigation & they were found to have nothing to hide. There was a very long article written about it in the Financial Review which I read most of (it was three or four pages) & the writer gave some explanation as to how they did it but the people involved would not divulge any of their secrets.

The sums of money they were playing with were extraordinary & it was the massive transfers of money around the world that tipped off the authorities to something going on. They were suspected of everything from dealing in arms to drugs to whatever but it was all made from gambling. The tax office chased them for years & years & finished with nothing.

Hobart finished up with a world class museum.
