  1. Here's lower Manhattan, where Wall Street currently sits and where the Twin Towers once stood, in 1660
  2. Marcus and Michelle Bachmann are big advocates of this, they are big believers in "praying the gay away"; does anything else need to be said?
  3. It's quite common on Phangan Island, also. 200B a balloon, same as in Phi Phi Makes your head feel a little light and dizzy, basically a headache for a few seconds; hardly worth 6 dollars for 4 or 5 hits. We were doing that stuff in the 80's, they were called "whippits" back then....you can also get the same effect from sucking on the top of a whipped cream canister before the cream comes out.
  4. Bolivia was very close

Kilome first told me that, I also had no clue. Same as DC I watched that series twice through - the only other time I've done that is for Breaking Bad - and same as PD I didn't care for the dock workers season. Idris Elba played a very good role as Mumbles in RockNRolla, a movie well worth seeing and set in London so he could speak in his usual accent. Gerald Butler has the lead. Thandie Newton makes it even more worth watching, highly recommended.
  6. The safest drug to do? Magic Mushrooms, something I've known for 35 years. The most dangerous? Not surprising in the least. Oh, and tobacco at number 6; and yet you can buy them both at the corner store.
  7. It would be hard to get this one with no clue, so I will tell you it's not from Africa but from South America

    Bye bye, Dave

I will try it - but while I know the Colbert Report was a pure act, it still got annoying after a while. I am hoping as himself his new show will be better, but man he has an uphill climb against Fallon and Kimmel, especially after the show takes 5 months off!

Here's Kevin Spacey doing a great Al Pacino "Shut Up, Dave"
  10. Just part of the reason it's so good to live in New England - weather and cost of living surely weren't properly figured in, but it sure is safe! All 6 N.E. states made it into the top 10.....oh, and we don't allow people to walk around airports or the local WalMart with an assault weapon; could that be part of the reason we are the safest? http://wallethub.com/edu/safest-states-to-live-in/4566/#main-findings 2015’s Safest States to Live In Massachusetts Vermont Minnesota New Hampshire Hawaii Utah Connecticut Rhode Island Virginia Maine
  11. When I was in Dublin I saw a T-shirt which had 4 segments, representing the 4 seasons of Ireland and marked Sprin, Summer, Fall and Winter. All of them were the same, with a sheep holding an umbrella in the rain.
  12. I liked The Sopranos, but for me it wasn't even in my top 5. I thought Chris was super-annoying, but I loved the part of Tony played by James Gandolfini {R.I.P}. Very good show though. I much preferred; Breaking Bad, Shameless {Chicago, still running}, The Wire, even a lot of the Law and Order seasons. I thought for the time Hill Street Blues was utterly fantastic; if we were having this debate in 1984 or so it would easily be my number 1. Right now I am really into The Newsroom, surprised I didn't try it sooner!
  13. I agree Seven.....there was never a better series made than that one. I've watched it twice through, can't do a third. Better Call Saul was good, but not great.
  14. Keep in mind.....that person with the extremely weird hair and who uses a twitter account to bash people he doesn't like, comedians like Jon Stewart, says he wants to be our next president. And we're not supposed to laugh at him, riiiiiggggghhhhht.
  15. So Donald Trump called someone else "not very bright" today. That's rich.
  16. Not sure if I missed the threads where she was brought up in the past, but now that her journey is halfway complete I must say she looks pretty damn good! Certainly photoshopped, but her body is looking pretty tight; and, most importantly, she finally gets to live the life she has wanted all these years. Good for her. http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/01/entertainment/bruce-caitlyn-jenner-vanity-fair-feat/
  17. Yeah, I didn't quite get the whole "lake" scenes myself. Liked that show much better in seasons 1 and 2, but still enjoyed season 3.
  18. Proud to say to this day I have never had a cup of coffee; ever. Tried a few sips way back when, it's just not my thing. Don't like the taste, same same whether it's iced coffee or coffee ice cream. Probably better off; I see the lines at the Dunkin's just about every day, the addicts backed up 12 or 15 cars deep waiting for their fix. No need to start one more habit.
  19. Hard to believe some people have never been to a Dunkin's .....around here they are practically on every corner.
  20. The percentage of people in certain regions of these countries who consider themselves "Very Happy." Looks like our English and Scottish friends have a lot to be thankful for! And what's up with Sicily and Sardinia, they just can't get their shit together?
  21. This was the Japanese empire at the height of their power, early in 1944 Notice how Thailand was not conquered by those A-holes but all their neighbors were.
  22. There's just something about this cute little Vietnamese babe, yummmmm
  23. Tequila is brutal, basically a liquid drug. Regretted drinking it more than once, but it sure does do the trick!
