Best super cheap eats

I'm sure we all have our faves, love to hear yours, I'll start off Thai Issan resto on Bukhao great resto food at street food prices and the street food place on soi 4 BKK in front of the Petal inn for amazing and 50 TBT Masaman curry,the lunch buffet at Ibis hotel again soi 4 for 200 baht ,this can obviously a resto or just street food

Guys who live here can eat really delicious yet super cheap meals!

 

Corner of Pattaya Tai and Soi Buckhaou.

 

Chicken (choice of 3 types) and Rice (yellow or white).  Comes with chicken broth.

 

30 baht small.  40 baht (used to be 35) somewhat bigger portion.

 

Open from about 6PM to 9:30PM only.

And the chicken curry is a pretty good deal at 55 Tb or so.

Yes my fav has to be what GT said in bangkok in soi 4 Ibis hotel and soi 7 real good food and cheep A girl called Mon thats works at Hilary 4 shouted me dinner there. yummy...and yes I made sure I payed.

Now I might as well post this in here I almost made a new thread.  Yesterday i ate for less than 150 baht and ate well.

 

Had a piece of toast with coffee for breakfast-cost almost nothing!

 

For lunch I went to this place that is open from 1000-1500 ONLY!!  It must be in the Chinese guide books as its heaving with Chinese tourists.  They only serve a couple of dishes.  Its speciality is stewed pork shoulder with rice, pickled greens, gravy, served with or without a hard boiled egg.  Its freaking delicious.  Anywhoo, I went a little after 1100 to aviod the crowds.  Yeah right!!!  There was a HUG line in the soi.  I wasnt waiting on that line.  Strolled up to the cook and got it all to go.  Made certain he put the hot sauce in there!!!

 

Paid the 60 baht and gave the guy 20 as a tip!!!!  In 10 minutes I was pigging out!!  Didi i say its freaking delicious??  Wasnt really hungry for the rest of the day but I made a move at about 700 pm as I knew i would like to nibble on something!!!  Got some grilled prok and stciky rice.  Only 2 stciks and the rice was a whole 25 baht!!!

 

Capped that off with a Magnum about an hour later and I was a happy chappy!!!

 

So whats the total damage 60+25+40= 125 plus a 20 baht tip thats 145 all in!!!!

The place is in Soi 19 and Phetchburi Road.  Its about 200 yards up the soi on the right.  this is near Panthip Plaza and Platinum Fashion Mall......

For what it's worth there is an A&W Root Beer inside Panthip Plaza.

 

  At least there WAS one a while back.

It was still there in August. However, Pantip Plaza is undergoing a 2 year renovation project so a lot of things could change in the near future.

Took a ladyboy there once and got the root beer floats....she surprisingly liked it!

 

Or maybe just said so for my benefit and couldn't wait to get to the nearest Issan street stall to wash her mouth out

The food plaza on the first floor of Big C Extra on Pattayaklang is very clean and has very good food.  My Pattaya sweetie and I eat lunch there about every other day when I'm visiting.  Papaya salad with salted egg from one counter and boiled pork with rice and greens from another counter is my usual.  All for about 120 baht.
