Rather than just begin responding to various posts on this forum, I thought perhaps an introduction would be in order. Always nice for you guys to know who you’re dealing with so you don’t think I’m a Troll …..

Definitely NOT a troll but definitely a full time lurker.

During a recent exchange of emails with JaiDee he suggested that this would be a good home for me to develop some friendships with like minded guys. He said that this forum is made up of some really nice guys and I would not have some of the uncomfortable experiences I had on other similar forums. Sooooo, with JaiDee’s encouragement here I am.

I have been around the LB scene since my first trip to BKK in the year 2000. Since then I have been visiting about 2-3 times per year, each visit lasting about 6 weeks … Do the math and I have been in Thailand about 3.5 years out of the last 12. I believe this will be trip number 26 or 27 …

This period has been the longest I have been away – now going on 18 months. During the last year (May 2011 – May 2012) my mom has been in the hospital 4 times and I almost lost her twice. I am not sure how many of you can relate but it is a very strange feeling walking down the corridors of a major US hospital and having the doctors, nurses and even the orderlies all calling you by your first name and saying “oh, you here AGAIN?” ….. It’s great to have friends and acquaintances but I would prefer to make them outside of a hospital setting.

ok – now on to more pleasant stuff –

my mother is doing remarkably well and I just purchased my tickets for my next trip. I arrive in BKK on June 30th and will be spending almost the entire month of July in Thailand …

A LITTLE ABOUT ME -

I have a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology and did the corporate life for awhile until I realized a suit and tie lifestyle wasn’t for me. Then for many years I had my own various businesses. I was in the blues club/restaurant business for a long time (about 10 years) and had my establishment in the Tribecca section of Manhattan. Robert DeNero was a regular at my place and John Kennedy Jr. had his birthday party at my place 2 years in a row – (this was when he was dating Daryl Hanna – if any of you remember that far back). This was prior to 9/11 so it was happy times for all of us. After about 10 years in the business I truly got burnt out and while I am not a religious guy someone must have been looking after me …. My club was located about 5 blocks north of the world trade center and I closed on the sale of the business about 4 weeks before the attack. I walked off with top $$$ and the people who bought the place from me went out of business only months after the attack – obviously the neighborhood (what was left of it) changed dramatically. Sometimes timing is everything and at least in this example I was on the right side of the curve.

For the last 10 years or so I have been involved in the stock market full time, buying and selling stocks and options. It was always a hobby and now I make (attempt) to make a living from it -

I am single – never married and no kids

I am closer to 60 than I am to 50 but I feel like 30 -

I live on the East Coast of the USA

A LITTLE ABOUT MY LB EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS –

Funny story –

I actually became friends with JaiDee through my great dislike for Stogie. I remember whatever I posted on the forum Stogie felt the need to shoot me down. Not just disagree (which would have been fine) but to insult and berate. Since he was the moderator and “Big Man on Campus” there were always a few assholes who had to parrot whatever he said and many of the rest of the posters just stayed quiet for fear that Stogie would be attacking them next.

It got so bad that I started writing to the owner of the website/forum – JaiDee … I just felt that I needed to inform him (as one business owner to another) that the “gentleman” who was running the forum was chasing customers away. I remember telling him that Stogie from a business prospective is much more of a liability than an asset to his company … Looking back at some of those old emails I now realize that I was putting JaiDee in an awful spot. As the boss he had to defend his employee but as the owner of the site he needed to placate me, the customer ….

I don’t like Stogie (I had the “pleasure” to finally meet him over a few beers at Lucky Luke’s a long time ago) but I do owe him a big thank you because if it wasn’t for him being an asshole I never would have developed a relationship with JaiDee that has lasted many years.

Through Stogie I met a close friend of his (at least at that time) – TT Chang. Only have good things to say about this man – what a lovely gentleman he was on the few occasions we spent together walking from Nana Plaza to Guess Bar.

They say opposites attract and I have wondered how such different people as Stogie and TT could have been such good friends – but really not for me comment on .. If it works for them – fine with me ….

MY SEXUAL ORIENTATION

This is the hardest part of my long winded introduction. I know this topic has been done to death on every like minded forum. But I have recently found myself giving this a lot of thought.

I have always considered myself 100% straight (maybe I need to re-evaluate - 5555)… I always prefer very feminine ladyboys and never in my mind ever considered them “guys with dresses”.

To me, they represented something mysterious and forbidden. I always in my mind considered then a “third sex” … You had men, you had ladies (GG’s) and you had LB’s – simple. They always represented another option. Like if you don’t want a hamburger for dinner tonight, try a pizza. Sometimes I just didn’t feel like a GG so I thought OK, let’s pick up a ladyboy. I have often asked myself the question of why, when home, do I almost always go to LB porn and not GG porn ??

Very happy that you started to post here, Puch......as others have said, I think you will find this board to be like a small family and you certainly have the background and experience to already be considered one of the crew here so welcome aboard! All it takes is one post to be part of any message board, seriously; "lurkers" usually find that once they post that first time they feel right at home so I hope you feel that now as well.

Some people have told me this board doesn't have enough threads or posters to make it relevant and of course I completely disagree; I think even a small amount of good posts, by well-informed and well-traveled posters, is the key to any good message board and the experience level on this board here, time spent on the ground in Thailand, is literally second-to-none.

As for the politics on the old ladyboy forums; I won't say much about that except to say that even I was asked not to post on my own forum last year, quite bizarre to say the least; needless to say once that happened there was no going back and in any case I have found a new home here which is much better in my opinion.

Great news that you found it also! Just so everyone knows, Puch found this forum himself BEFORE I suggested he start posting; we hadn't been in touch at all in a few years and when I saw his P.M. yesterday it was like hearing from a long lost friend despite the fact we have never formally met. Bangkok's mothership, an institution. I have a soft spot for the Nana Hotel, having first stayed there back in 1998. I've spent many nights in the past at Nana Hotel and the location cannot be beat, even a whole month once back in December 2006 before re-discovering Pattaya.

I'll probably be staying at one of the Dynasty hotels so I can make use of their free BKK-Pattaya shuttle bus, but it is definately nice to know someone (you) will be around who I'm looking forward to meeting.

Some people have told me this board doesn't have enough threads or posters to make it relevant and of course I completely disagree; I think even a small amount of good posts, by well-informed and well-traveled posters, is the key to any good message board and the experience level on this board here, time spent on the ground in Thailand, is literally second-to-none.

A case of quality versus quantity for sure. Thank god we don't get inundated with every second thread being the "where can i find she?" theme, most of the guys here know where she is, or can find her by a pm to a certain German speaking member.

It's a wonderful network of friendly guys who mostly know each other and are more than willing to make new members feel very welcome . As you say most of the posters here have actually spent time in Los and know what they are on about, walk the walk as Anthony70 says.

As I discussed with JD last week, it was his photos/vids of Dao (Lao) that hooked me into this LB scene. I had described them as 'AsianTS pics', but I didnt know until last week that he'd done the shoot. Good job I don't have the DVD (with the extras of JD 'encouraging' the model ). In later photography on ATS we had a bit too much of monkeyman's cock on show. We aren't gay, after all. Well, sometimes ..
