Obsession has been opening afternoons, with a volunteer workforce, but very little business cos no-one knows about it. Kee of Cascade told me last night that her bar is to open at 5pm from this week. And any ladyboys not turning up would be cut 1000 baht. This should be interesting. Looking forward to sitting in Big Dogs for the rush of sleepy LBs at 4.45pm!!!

After a quick exit from UK I was at my first GOTC. Quite excellent event, and enjoyed meeting some guys I've not seen for a while and some new BMs. Congrats to Lita & Karl, DT & SiamSam

I've always used Mr T Taxi. Mostly the service is great, as is the price of 1000 baht all in for motorway transfer (to/from Airport or Central Bangkok). Mr T's own drivers are fine - speedy, but not manic - and his vehicles very good. i usually tip them if I've had a restful journey (ie they drive like I do!) But occasionally they use a freelance driver & car (who happens to be in Pattaya). Or in Bangkok use a contact they know, if they havent got a car in the capital at the appointed time. This is where the problems arise - with drivers trying to make 120+ baht by avoiding tolls if they can, or just being poor drivers, or have inferior vehicles. On one transfer a year ago, I had an old Volvo Limo (typical hotel car) pick me up in Pattaya. The driver made an excuse about traffic, so he could detour through Chonburi. Kept tailgating vans, buses etc. Then crashed into a pickup truck on the dual carriageway Fortunately I was wearing seatbelt, and no-one hurt. Of course, the Thai driver insisted it wasnt his fault (never is in LOS) because the truck stopped 'too quickly'! MrT sent out a replacement van from Pattaya, to collect me. When he arrived the second driver asked: 'Why did he go this way to Bangkok?' ..... Exactly. On another occasion a female driver in Bangkok ("no, I not work Mr T. I friend of he") decided to avoid the toll booth in Sukhumvit to get on tollway down at Petchaburi Road. Took 50 minutes to get to the tollway, we got stuck in traffic! Really there is no way of knowing in advance about these. Booking ahead should help, to get into their normal schedules, but no guarantee. I may try one of the others next time. I too stopped using Apple, after being charged more than the originally quoted price.

I am wishing Darkside every success. As I did when I sat down with Fatcat for a drink before Christmas, with the hope that both Guess & Darkside would do well in 2013. Little did we know what was about to unfold up the road! Chris & I share the view that inter-bar drama is a waste of energy and to be avoided. It can be fuelled by promoters of any bar bringing their personal agendas on the forums, or false stories being spread (for whatever reason). Inevitably a new bar needs to get its staff from somewhere, so there may be a few niggles, but I think the LB perv community should stay united to a common cause (our enjoyment!) When I get back to LOS, I may need a new bar to drink in. I know that I will be well received by the large LB with the pink shirt (Fatcat!) And Big May ....

Agoda's agreement with hotels is that hotels wont undercut Agoda through direct bookings. But they can find ways! eg by offering free wifi to direct bookers, but not to Agoda customers. Or doing a 'corporate' rate I have used Latestays. It is a very user-friendly way of checking availability / prices and it occasionally has some very good deals.

Last night in Obsession Bangkok, around midnight. Yound lad (aged 10/11) sitting with his Dad, while Dad played with LB on his lap and LBs got their tits out for son to play with. I've seen some things in LB bars, but this was bizarre, not to say appalling. Not surprised at the bar letting them in (money) .Doubt the guy (in his 50's) is on this civilised forum. But if you are the "responsible adult"..... you are a complete fucking twat! That kid already looked as if he's grown up well before his years. Wonder what other entertainment on the family night out? Ping pong balls show? Dont think I'm overreacting. Other customers were saying worse than I am about this dickhead!

My first visit to Cascade i was greeted by Janet. She 'firmly' placed her cock in my hand within 30 seconds of me sitting down. I really wondered what this LB thing was all about at that moment! Since then I've discovered she is a real sweety, great attitude. So hope she does really well. But that first meeting ... aaargh!

A group of us arrived at Famous Bar about 10.30pm for the party ..... but the bar appeared to be closed! Maybe all the staff were down the beach loying their krathongs? Stringfellows was nearly empty ('most girls barfined' ... 'look at the board' ... I was told with a withering look). Fortunately our reception at Sensations & Anaconda was more in the spirit of the occasion. With La Bamba taking the main credit ..... as the (LB) bar making the most costume effort - we enjoyed some Thai dancing by the home team and the usual relaxed drinks .... 10/10

Yes, I will stick around Guess Bar this weekend ..... and see what comes my way, dressed in uniform and causing slight discomfort!

Hope the government arent brutal in controlling this! The last government's actions in Central Bangkok were condemned (by Thaksina & her cohorts) as brutal. But maybe it's alright if they are in charge. If the event goes wild, it will of course be the Yellows fault. But oddly it was never the Reds fault last time. Come back brother, all is forgiven. 'Assertive / smooth' is not an easy skill. I find 'fuck off you leech' works well initially, but not when the stiletto is embedded deep in your skull. I was going to say 'smiling, not serious' .... cos most of those who do pull it off well (eg: Donnykey, JimSlim) seem to use the friendly approach. I think it depends on your own personal nature, the style of LB bar you're in, known friends of choice A, known friends of choice B. . 'Normally' I would say it calm but straight: "Very happy to buy you drink, but have arranged to meet my wife" (dont have to point out 'future' wife, as thais get confused about tenses in English!) This may work better in the sort of lightweight places I get to .. Actually it nearly always works in Stringfellows. It happens regularly - but if you dont want to buy ladydrinks, then any ideas for plan B guys? PS. DON'T promise to take them another time! Chances are you WONT. And they WILL remember.
