Mrs. Ploypapas added that the man lives on the 8th floor of the condominium next to her house and has been throwing stuff at her dog for the past 3 months. She knows this because she sees the items lying around in front of her house. The story of 44-year-old Luca Viggiani begins with him investing two million baht in aPattaya entertainment business with a group of men described as “local partners”. The deal went sour and the budding entrepreneur was left two million light when he was cut out the deal. A British man, using several aliases including Irfan Asaf and Mastana Singh, approached the Italian at a hotel on May 28th and offered to help him recover his investment for a fee of 600,000 baht, which he claimed was to cover costs including police fees. Throwing good money after bad, the Italian agrees to the deal and later meets up with the Brit in a car park to hand over the money. During talks Viggiani is offered a bottle of water that he accepts and this is where things start going fuzzy as the next thing he remembers is waking up on the beach opposite the police station. Now, most people would have crossed the road and straight into the cop shop to file a report but, no, no, no, the Italian returns to his hotel and spends the next ten days trying to make contact with all those who had shafted him. After getting no responses, Viggiani finally went to Pattaya police and filed a report which also claimed when he was drugged with the bottle of water, his 150k watch was stolen too. Local police and members of the Sawangboribul foundation were called to the Map Prachan Reservoir near the Siam Country Club at around 9.30pm on Sunday to find the Danish national, named only as Mr Michael, in the water bleeding badly from his cuts. Locals out fishing told police they seen the Dane slash his wrists and walk into the water which is when they telephoned for help. It took the rescue team almost an hour to get the 33-year-old man out of the water as he was distressed and not interested in being saved from taking his own life. He sold his shares in the chain of coffee shops in 2008 and moved to Thailand to live a “quiet life”, however, Dutch authorities later opened a criminal investigation into him over money laundering and importing drugs from Asia. He was arrested along with his wife, Mingkwan Kaenin 32 at their home in Pattaya following information received by Thai police from Dutch authorities. He was 44. Secrets bar owner Ben Abrahams, McCann’s last employer, said Big Steve went to the hospital two days earlier feeling ill. He died there of kidney failure. McCann was perhaps best known as the longtime manager of Living Dolls 1 during its heyday. A fixture at the end table under the air conditioning, he’d host all-night parties, showing patrons how to properly lift a draft beer, with his elbow at a right angle to the table. He also created the infamous “Red Cock” cocktail, putting most of his guests under the table by the end of the night yet, somehow, managing to sleep standing up. Big Steve moved on from Living Dolls to take a role in the Three Angels bar on Soi 6 before “retiring” to the beer-drinking circuit. He was brought back by Secrets last year. McCann was a man of big appetites and was a fixture at the Sportsman’s Sunday carvery and at MK, hosting countless groups of expats and regular visitors. And he always had at least one young pretty at his side. His gregarious style was a magnet to the ladies and he often had two or three living under his roof. Big Steve’s health problems, all related to his struggle with weight, were well known and his brushes with death were too common, both as a result of his dangerous adventures on a motorbike to simply downing too many beers. Those who knew McCann feared is his obesity would be the death of him, but no one dreamed it would be so soon. It’s unlikely Pattaya will ever see another character like Big Steve McCann. He really was a great character and when you were drinking with Him at His table it was difficult to get away sober, that's for sure. R.I.P. Headlines of murder and betrayal were loud and proud last week as relatives of the missing Scotsman last seen in mid-May spoke to the media in a bid to find the former soldier. Mr Balfour, 35, was last seen in Pattaya on May 14th during a month long trip to visit his six-year-old daughter and fears for his well-being were growing by the day with plenty of conspiracy theories involving murder being touted. The Scottish Daily Record reported he had been, “murdered following reports he was knocked unconscious by a large American”. The incident involving the American is allegedly true, however, the bust up happened many months ago according to those close to the Scotsman and not in the days leading up to his disappearance. Although no details on how the Scotsman died have been shared by his family, I can confirm he was the unidentified foreigner who died after knocking his head on a wall during a liaison with a ladyboy in a short time Walking Street hotel in the early hours of May 15th – the morning after he was last seen by friends. His body has been in a Bangkok mortuary as a John Doe for the past six weeks awaiting identification. The value of the gold is estimated to be 35,000 baht. The victim says he has been living and working in Thailand for seventeen-years and this is the first time he has ever been assaulted and robbed. The speed and intimidation of the attack has caused alarm and fear for his family. He hopes the police will catch up with these people quickly as they are a menace to Pattaya and are causing harm to the reputation of of the people of Thailand. They discovered the girl to be sixteen-years old. A team then raided the One More Beer Bar and arrested Pitakchat. Two one-thousand baht notes and a box of condoms were seized as evidence.
