No judge    :judge:  No jury.   Welcome to Section 44.

Pattaya authorities ordered the closure of Face Club bar in South Pattaya after it allowed entries by underaged youths in defiant of the order of the military junta.

Bang Lamung district officer Charkorn Kanjanawatta who led a team of district officials, soldiers and local police to inspect entertainment places in Pattaya City last night said he ordered the closure after over a hundred of teenagers under 20-year-old were still drinking inside.

Almost all the youths did not carry ID cards, and six of them were also found to be only 14-year-old.

All were later taken in five pickup trucks to Bang Lamung police station to have their profiles booked, and have their parents coming up for acknowledgement of their children’s improper behaviour before release.

But as the five trucks arrived at the station, they ran in all directions in bid to escape, forcing authorities to give chase. Only a handful of them was caught.

The chief officer said as Face Club operator has obviously defied the order of the National Council for Peace and Order head Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha by allowing underaged youths to visit, he would enforce the order of the military junta strictly under Section 44 to shut down the place for five years.

He said this would be the first entertainment place in the eastern region to face shutdown if its operation for five years.

Several other entertainment places in South Pattaya were also inspected.

He said some were warned for operating with louder noises than permitted by law, and some had no licences to sell liquors.

Some were also found to sell smuggled foreign whiskies and some had no business permits.

He said the inspection followed complaints from the people that via the Chonburi governor’s Facebook page that these places still defied the military junta’s order.

OMG

They need to reclaim the sea and build the beach up ... if they take the trees down it will be even worse...there is hardly any beach as it is and removing the trees will just make it seem like the concrete jungle it really is now

caused by flood water going over the curb

Late on Wednesday Night a large hole appeared on Pattaya Beach promenade which almost caused a foreign tourist to potentially sustain an injury.

The 1 meter wide and 2 meter deep hole appeared in the promenade opposite Pattaya Police Station and a foreign tourist almost fell into the hole but managed to avoid it.

The hole has exposed a major problem with the entire promenade which appears to have been poorly constructed and due to recent heavy rain, the foundation of mostly sand has washed away.

There are urgent calls to review the entire promenade before someone is injured and for now we have forwarded a copy of this report to Pattaya City Hall for their consideration.

These two ladyboys were refused bail.   I reckon it would help tourism if street crime were significantly reduced.

Though I think that for a city with 10,000 bars, 100,000 prostitutes, and lots of drunk locals, expats, and tourists it's a pretty safe place.

In the early hours of Friday, Pattaya Police arrested two Ladyboys accused of stealing a wallet full of money from a German.

The incident occurred outside of the Sawoy Seafood Restaurant located on 2nd road in Central Pattaya. Mr. Helmut Reimund aged 50 was walking back to his Hotel when he encountered the two Ladyboys who attempted to make contact with him. Mr. Reimund continued walking and ignored the pair who persistently attempted to talk to Mr. Reimund.

Eventually he was distracted enough by the pair who were able to take his wallet which was inside his back pocket of his shorts. Luckily the incident was witnessed by members of the public who were able to detain the pair as they attempted to escape with the wallet which initially fell onto the road losing them valuable seconds to make their escape.

Inside the wallet was 3,090 Baht, credit cards and other personal items which were all returned to Mr. Reimund at Pattaya Police Station. Police checks revealed the two suspects were currently on bail pending court proceedings in connection with a similar case of street robbery. They are also thought to be linked to many other similar cases.

Mr. Reimund thanked the members of public who came to his assistance as the two suspects are now behind bars having been refused bail.

CHONBURI — A woman claiming to be a Cambodian masseuse reportedly robbed a Russian tourist in the resort town of Pattaya this morning.

The 49-year-old Russian man told police four women approached him while he was sitting alone on Jomtien Beach at around 6 am and introduced themselves as Cambodian masseurs, said Police Lt. Sombat Kaewmoonsuk, an officer at Pattaya Police Station.

Three of the women later left, at which point the Russian accompanied the remaining woman to a “massage parlor” in Soi Wat Boonkanchanararm which consisted of a bamboo bed on the side of a street, Sombat said. She told the tourist to lie down for a massage, police said, then snatched the gold necklace from his neck and ran off.

After the Russian complained to the police, officers searched the area and found a woman’s purse with the victim’s gold necklace inside.

“The victim may have chased after the perpetrator, which frightened her into dropping the goods, and she has not returned to collect them,” Sombat said, adding that police are looking for the massage bandits.

Russian commits suicide behind Pattaya Temple

on: 04 October, 2015

A 54 year old Russian who was given shelter at a Pattaya Temple as he was homeless and broke, appears to have committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree.

Police were called to the Gratin Tong Temple in Jomtien on Saturday Morning and were directed to an area of woodland just beyond the Temple boundary where Mr. Sergey Bykov had apparently hung himself from a tree.

The body of Mr. Bykov was removed and taken to the Morgue as Monks explained that the man had been living at the Temple for the last 3 days. He claimed he was homeless and broke, following a relationship with a woman from Buriram Province in North-East of Thailand.

He had told the Monks that after working hard in Moscow, Russia, he had saved the equivalent of 600,000 Baht for a trip to Thailand. When he arrived he met the woman and the pair spent all of his savings. He arrived at the Temple with 400 Baht in his pocket and his passport.

The Monks were told that Mr. Bykov was keen to track-down his former girlfriend for one last meeting before he returned to Moscow but instead he was discovered by Monks on Saturday Morning after he is thought to have committed suicide before daybreak.

roxy.jpg

PATTAYA:-- The expat manager of a popular Pattaya bar required hospital treatment after being smashed with a bottle during a vicious assault.

Sam Bates, manager of Roxy Bar on Soi 6, required 17 stitches to wounds on his head and leg after being confronted by a violent thug.

The thug, who has been identified as Shaun Robson from Middlesbrough in the UK, had been acting in an aggressive manner towards people on Soi 6 for several hours prior to the attack, it has been alleged.

When Mr Robson entered Roxy Bar, he continued to be aggressive towards other customers and female bar staff and was promptly told by Mr Bates to settle his bar bill and leave.

With no intention of leaving quietly, Robson and one of his pals then attacked Mr Bates and others in the bar.

Robson was arrested a short time later and spent the night behind bars at the police station on Soi 9, where he remains as police continue to investigate the incident.

Customers as young as 14 year old were found as District Officers raided a Pub in Central Pattaya in the early hours of Thursday.

The raid took place at the Pattaya Club Route 99 Pub located behind Numchai Electronics off the Sukhumvit Road in Central Pattaya at 4.30am. Officers approached the club which was plunged into darkness moments earlier as workers became aware that a raid was imminent.

Although the Pub appeared closed officers were well aware it was open and went to a rear exit which allowed them to gain entry into the Pub. 300 customers were inside at the time and checks into staff and patrons began.

A total of 75 people were found to be aged between 14 and 19. 24 of the underage customers failed drug tests and a further 4 aged over 20 also failed a drug test which confirmed the presence of methamphetamine in their bodies. 3 people were found not to be carrying Thai ID cards and officers seized a quantity of Kethamine powder and Crystal Meth which were discarded on the floor of the Pub.

Khun Kittipong aged 40, the owner of the Pub, was arrested and the parents of the underage customers were summoned to the offices of the Chief of Banglamung District later on Thursday Morning for a stern lecture on their responsibilities in relation to their children.

The Teenagers who did not fail drug tests were allowed to go free although the others will be sent to a Young Offenders Institute.

Under Section 44 of the Thai Constitution, the Governor of Chonburi Province will now consider 6 offenses documented by the raid team and the venue could now face a closure of up-to 5 years.

A video was posted on Facebook on Sunday which appeared to show a Thai woman being assaulted by a Hotel employee which led to his dismissal as confirmed by the Hotel’s Deputy Manager who we spoke with.

The incident occurred just after Daybreak on Sunday at The Sun Xclusive Hotel on the Thappraya Road in South Pattaya and was filmed by a passer-by. The video shows a Thai woman, who claimed she was the partner of one of the foreign guests in the Hotel and attempted to gain entry. She was told to produce her Thai ID card but instead handed over her Thai driving license. The Hotel refused her entry which led to a prolonged argument with the Reception staff.

Eventually the woman was escorted outside where the arguing continued, culminating in one of the receptionists kicking her and attempting to push her down stairs onto the street.

Later on Sunday we spoke with Khun Prasit aged 44, the Deputy Manager of the Hotel, who deeply regrets the incident and he confirmed the receptionist in question, Khun Virat aged 39, had been fired with immediate effect.

Police are involved and are expected to fine the suspected attacker following an official Police complaint lodged by the female in the video.
