For instance a list of poulation by "cities proper" (Wiki) where cities are defined as purely the area covered by the administive boundary (local gov area), has Shanghai as number 1 and Jakarta as number 14. 2 Quote Link to comment

Celestial was a term referring to Chinese immigrants to the United States, Canada, and Australia during the 19th century. The term was widely used in the popular mass media of the day.
