What is the connection between our cars & charcoal briquettes?

I'm searching for a direct connection, not a general one such as they are manufactured in a factory or they are a consumer good or anything that vague.

I'll give it a try, cars produce the same emissions as charcoal when it is burned?

Well, not what I was looking for, but that may be true too!

Hint: I was thinking specifically of the items themselves have a common link in origin concerning their production and not a fuel issue or a pun (grills).

Anyone else?

Since Hollywood has a propensity for trouble, I would imagine one of them later in life must have been in rehab, made a porn film, or had other problems worthy of the tabloids?

Not sure about the other cop, but wasn't one of the main actors also in The Phil Silvers Show (Sgt. Bilko in the UK)? Master Sergeant Rupert Ritzik!

Ritzik was played by Joe E Ross, who also played Gunther Toody, the other lead cop in Car 54.

But i'm looking for the Car 54 cop that appeared in a sitcom where Fred Gwynne played the lead.

(I believe that Gwynee guest starred in an episode of Sgt Bilko/You'll Never Get Rich/Phil Silvers Show but that doesn't count)

Charcoal briquette & the modern car connection?

They were both first mass manufactured by Henry Ford. He is sometimes referred to as the inventor of the briquette because of this, that's what I believed until I looked it up, but its wrong, he probably stole the process from another guy (who's name was Kingsford).

Ford wanted to use all the sawdust that remained on the factory floors & not just dump it, heard about the briquette this one guy developed, & he mass produced & sold them nationwide in the US kicking off the outdoor grilling industry.

He was a man of wisdom and often advised Ben. He was responsible for bringing the investigative tool of "fingerprinting" to America. He called it "chops".

Come on guys hop to it. Surely you can remember his name. Great character.

BTW, I did not need, or see your clue before I answered.

Damn , i know this one. I can name Hoss, Lil Joe, Manilito and everyone , but the chinese is lost. Was it Wong?

There was no regular or recurring character on Bonanza named Manilito. There was a regular character on High Chaparral named Manolito though.
