True. Several of the characters were sensationalized in the news media at the time. The average Joe and Jane rooted for Bonnie & Clyde’s escape, even though they murdered cops, etc in cold blood. blind boy grunt
just going back to JWH and the Dylan album title John Welsey Harding, i dunno why the name was spelt wrong, with the end 'G"perhaps deliberate or just an error. nowadays, if you google John Wesley Harding you get the album, if you google the correct name John Wesley Hardin, you get the bad guy, loads about him. He confessed to 44 killings evidently but some historians say that that may be an exaggeration, what is clear though is that he made others such as BIlly the Kid etc, very much second division. I'm a little surprised he isn't more well known. He's buried in El Paso. I saw his grave when i was doing a few weeks driving tour of the old Wild-West some years back. The baddest of the bad indeed. QG, you got a long way to go! Quote Link to comment

Lefty
Legend has Billy the Kid killing 21 men by his 21st birthday. In actuality he more likely killed 4-5 counting the two deputies he killed when breaking out of Lincoln County Jail. Quote Link to comment

Neither Butch Cassidy or the Sundance Kid were known to kill anyone, or were ever accused, charged, wanted for, killing anyone. They were robbers not killers. 1 Quote Link to comment

Although in American folk tradition, just like Billy the Kid , Bonnie and Clyde and others of that ilk. , he's become a bit of a Robin Hood. figure. But obviously no Wild West cowpoke fans on here, Lefty or Seven certainly would get it with this with this, the last clue.. back around 1967, Bob Dylan released a country album titled with the gunslingers name but slightly mis-spelt I have not been here for weeks and did not see this till today but I can promise you I'd have known the answer without any clues. Doc Holliday and a few of these guys were from the East Coast so maybe Henry was too. How about Virginia? I was thinking the same about the East Coast. Lefty
This is a layup question. Henry McCarty aka William Bonney aka Billy the Kid was born in NYC. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lefty
I mentioned it in the movie thread, but any fans here of the western genre owe it to themselves to watch Old Henry. Every western fan I know who has watched it, liked it. IMO, the best western since Unforgiven in 1992 2 Quote Link to comment

Given your clue he's obviously not the infamous Kabul Kowboy! Well, strange you should say that PD, i've been thinking about all this. Billy[Henry] was from pure Irish stock, his parents emigrated to NYC from Ireland, and Lefty is right, He was born in NYC. It just makes me wonder because as we know the forums only real Cowpoke, Quietguy once admitted that his grandad x6 was Irish. I'm just wondering if there's not a common denominator that ties QG and Billy, a blood tie! something that gave them both killer bloodlust. Now, I'm not saying that Kid Poke has a-killed a couple of deputies, not that i know of anyway, but rumours abound in London that a man known variously as Kid Poke or Kid Clint, with other alias's once allegedly plugged an Afghani Trannie full of lead in a dubious West End club, for wearing a similar dress to his, one party night. obviously this allegation has never been proved, Police are still looking for a a small lady wearing a Dolly Parton wig who introduced herself in that club as KId Lola.. it makes you think...... 2 Quote Link to comment
