Laawman
As always, with immaculate timing, I decided to try out a new eatery on Buakhao 13 just as the Heavens decided to open. As you can see, the new drainage projects are going swimmingly well. PXL_20221009_082015086.mp4 5 Quote Link to comment
bumblebee
Some excessive moisture there indeed:) Here is hoping it has passed by November, although I have seen the wet season drag on in that month alas. Good on the ground reporting Laawman. Quote Link to comment

bubba
Great pictures, Laawman. Just keep your eyes peeled for venomous snakes, centipedes, crocodiles and such. Still, I'd rather be there than here in East Coast of Oz where its been raining since I was born, I reckon. 2 Quote Link to comment
Zeppie
You serious about those being in the water bub-baaaa!!!.......or you just trying to scare the bejeebers out of me? 1 Quote Link to comment
Laawman
It used to be, some years ago, that every time the crocodile farm got seriously flooded a few of it's inhabitants would escape into the locale. I don't think anyone got eaten . Quote Link to comment

Practical, Zeppie. A surfeit of water in places inhabited by these critters compels them to seek alternative lodgings after a while. One time on Koh Chang had an interesting interlude with a six inch centipede tickling my back as it sought dryer lodgings during a downpour. Then partner and I leapt out of bed and watched the ugly thing jump onto the floor and walk into the hong nam, exiting down a drain. It was a nasty fucker and was later told by one of the housemaids that she'd ben stung by one and needed injections. The discomfort lasted for days. Another time in Saigon during a downpour I saw a large rat dive out of a flooding drain seeking refuge elsewhere. In Oz itself snakes and crocs, especially in the north are displaced by flooding creeks etc. These are common to South East Asia as are the bloody downpours. 1 Quote Link to comment

I confirm I saw rats running accross a street in Saigon on a dry night. One week earlier I had visited the same street in daytime. There was a street market. On my last night in VN, I was taken by a ladyboy to an annex of the bar where I had met her to work me out and convince me to pay her an (expensive) ST. As I did not succeed in lowering her price, I left alone, light hearted to my hotel room. Rats were running from one spot of the street to another following their own businesses. I had found the image funny as I was alone in this street only surrounded by rats. 2 Quote Link to comment

Pulci Gorgon
You're mistaken. Rats were surrounded by me alone. That looked surrealistic scene at 3 AM, as if O was in strip cartoon drawing. 1 Quote Link to comment

You mean this guy, known as the mink man? The mink is at the centre of the hunt, the next line is a terrier, so the Mink continues with Seeking and Flushing out, trying for the kill if it can. The Final line is a gaze hound (which could be anything resembling a greyhound) as the vermin is then leaving the kill zone at speed from the area, it can be picked off and erradicated. 3 Quote Link to comment

The guys laying a new surface park the trucks there when it comes down, and the the stuff leaks from the load. Laawman
Ummm.......errrrr.......thank you for pointing that out PD! The number of available condos is slowly being whittled away at present, but with 12 month contracts and 2 month deposits I can't just settle for any old tosh! Quote Link to comment
