So what about the guys, are more of you using the internet/smartphones to find your girls these days rather than go to a bar? Personally I don't like the online shopping for ladyboys as I prefer the bar experience and being to talk to them in person over a drink. I've only resorted to CL for a few daytime encounters. I was 2 for 3 in those and the one that was sour I wrote off to not being able to interact with the ladyboy except for a phone call. I refuse to use Thai Friendly, I don't blame the girls at all for using social media as a tool for getting customers. I know a lot of potential punters are trying to circumvent the bar fine process for whatever reason. It seems to be getting harder and harder for LB bars to survive in today's climate. It always saddens me when we lose a ladyboy bar. I hope there enough guys like me who prefer the bar atmosphere and bar itself to source LB's for them to thrive. I fear that most new customers on the scene will turn to the web for taking the plunge. But from just reading around various posts on forums I get the impression more and more hook ups are taking place by Internet/phone and this will continue and will be hard for the bars to resist. xyzzy Posted October 31, 2015 Share Posted October 31, 2015 For better or worse I've hung out in bars all my adult life (actually started at 15 with a fake ID when the legal age was 18 in some US states). The bar scene is as much of the experience as the girls. Not terribly unusual for me to go out and shoot pool in Pattaya and go home alone. On my long trips I'm not feeling rushed like guys in for only two weeks and at my age I don't need a girl every night. So the bar experience is important to me. I do have VERY minor contact with a couple of LBs on TF but I met them both at bars first. If you really get out and hit many many bars you will know who a lot of the faces on TF are anyway. I have never first contacted an unknown LB on TF. There do seem to be more guys using the internet instead of bars. It would be hard for me to hang out in bars if I didn't drink. I saw a thread on aonther board where the OP was complaining about the TF girls not looking like the pictures on TF. Some have given up using TF and some are more careful and meet the girls at a neutral location. That way they can bail if they don't like what they find or give her 500 baht to go away and say sorry. And some seem to have better luck on TF. I probably could go on TF and find 10 LBs I've at least bought a drink for and maybe have taken them back to my room from their bars. I don't drink much these days and sitting in a bar for any length of time becomes very irritating when you are sober. It's not that I feel ripped off paying a bar fine: if the bar is pretty cool and the lb attractive and the booze is decent, I reckon a bar fine is deserved. But I just ain't a bar fly any more. What I have come to rely on in recent years is referrals. Sites like this are handy places to browse through before contacting an lb on Thaifriendly - usually someone here has had an encounter with her. By this I mean those working in shops and hotels etc. I personally use it for 90 % of my encounters with great success.Sure it can be hit or miss some times but a few baht and a polite sorry, can have u avoiding a NOT as photo situation and waste of time on meeting.If your a numbers guy then it's perfect, as u can get one on the hour every hour, also avoiding the bar fine, lady drink and working in same bar hair flick shit and lose of a good shag.Also some thing that may bother some people is the walk of ( pride ) shame, so a lb that can come to your room is ideal. Yeah its a crap shoot but I've learned to trust my instincts, as in is she chatty online, handles disappointment well (I chat to them several times before the trigger) etc. And I agree with Redrock, in that, unless I'm liquored up, bars bore the hell out of me... I've barfined girls and lbs before where things were great in the bar- but she turns into a bitch in the room. You pays your money ands you takes your chances... I still don't use or even possess a smartphone yet, but I do have a TF account I use in order to see who people are referring to when they talk about them or link to a particular advert. I've never contacted anyone though. If and when I am out and about seeking someone to empty my ball-sack so many factors come into play which I don't think can be be relayed very well via TF with an unknown. Something as simple as the dress and heels a girl wears on the night or if we seem compatible. For as long as I can remember, hanging out in bars has primarily been in order to socialise with friends and meet new people, very rarely for a sexual encounter. I tend to do my hunting solo as I prefer a sleazy ambiance to get me in the mood and that never, or very rarely, seems to be the case in a bar setting. The last time I remember that happening was in Tornado Bar on Soi 6, which was sleaze personified. If I was single and had a smartphone I think I would probably use TF (or similar) to hook up on occasions, but most likely with girls I already knew. Assuming I was single, of course. Feeling in the mood could very well be me alone in my room where I could 'order' someone via TF I have previously met elsewhere to come visit me. I could even specify a few preferred clothing items and high heels too. I would be ready, willing, waiting, and excited at the prospect of her imminent arrival. I used to do that in the past anyway by way of a normal phone call, having already kept the numbers of certain favourites. Often when I am in the mood for nookie and I go for an early-hours stroll to the seedier parts of town some ad-hoc event along the way can completely kill my mood. At my age it can take a while to revive itself again and that moment has passed.
