DownLoLarry
Maybe we should start a Bond thread so I don't jack this one with my explanation! Who's your favorite Bond? BondBabe? This thread is about all things Bond. 1 Quote Link to comment
Snick
Peter Sellers was the best bond, best babe is a tougher call but I'm going with Xenia Onaptopp (Famke Janssen, Goldeneye). Quote Link to comment
deepthroat
I'd have to go with George Lazenby. No, seriously - I really like Daniel Craig, but that's partly because the last two films have been much "grittier" and he fits that tone perfectly. It's hard to argue against Sean Connery. He was, is, and always will be the standard against which all other Bonds are measured. Bond girl? Off the top of my head I'd have to go with Denise Richards. Quote Link to comment
KenW
The licence to kill for the Secret Service, the double-O prefix, was a great honour, it had been earned hardly. It brought James Bond the only assignments he enjoyed - the dangerous ones. For me, best bond: Connery. Best Bondette: Daniella Bianchi (From Russia With Love). 1 Quote Link to comment
duke007
Favourite Bond.... Roger Moore ( for his eye-brow and one-liners), I also agree with deepthroat that Daniel Craig is a great Bond Bond Babe.. Britt Ekland Best Bond Girl names... Plenty O'Toole & Holly Goodhead http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xfv73j_britt-ekland-naked-in-the-wicker-man_sexy Quote Link to comment
Lone Ranger
Best Bond - Sean Connery Bond girl - Izabella Scorupco Quote Link to comment
Snick
Daniella Bianchi would have been my second choice, From Russia With Love was on HBO a few days ago, and I couldn't believe how hot she was. Am I a bad man for getting turned on when Sean Connery slapped her around a bit ? The licence to kill for the Secret Service, the double-O prefix, was a great honour, it had been earned hardly. It brought James Bond the only assignments he enjoyed - the dangerous ones. For me, best bond: Connery. Best Bondette: Daniella Bianchi (From Russia With Love). Quote Link to comment
BigTel
Best Bond: Sean Connery Bond Girl : Maryam d' Abo Quote Link to comment
fogmaster
Best Bond: Sean Connery Best Babe: Luciana Paluzzi ("You made a shocking mess of my hair you sadistic brute") Quote Link to comment
Wildrover
Best Bond: Connery Bond Girl: Barbara Bach (from Russia with love). Honourable mention for Caterina Murino (Q. of Solace - below) and Japanese girls also in You only live twice Quote Link to comment
Vee
It has to be Connery as Bond and Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore. Even at 87 she gets old Vee's heart and other parts all a flutter. What a GGILF. Quote Link to comment
Kahuna
Another vote for Connery...But Craig is very good... There is only one Bond Girl...The first... Quote Link to comment
Lefty
Best Bond: Connery Bond Girl: Barbara Bach (from Russia with love). Honourable mention for Caterina Murino (Q. of Solace - below) and Japanese girls also in You only live twice Barbara Bach was not in From Russia With Love. She was in The Spy Who Loved Me. 4:17
I don't have a particular favorite; Connery, Moore and Craig all have brought interesting interpretations of the character to the screen. Interesting trivia re: Vee's favorite, Pussy Galore, played by Honor Blackman: at 39 she was the oldest woman to ever play a Bond Girl, and one of only two that were actually older than the actor portraying Bond (Connery was 36 at the time). As for Bond girls, again, can't chose just one, but if someone held a gun to my head, I'd have to go with Michelle Yeoh (I know, but I *don't* have the Asian flu, honest!). Quote Link to comment
seven
Connery. Ursula Andress. I used to whack off to her in my dads old Playboy magazines. Quote Link to comment
mardhi
Surprised nobody has mentioned Talisa Soto. Maybe its the dark sultry look aka Thai's but she does it for me more than the others. I have no strong view though as to Bond - grew up as a kid with Connery & Moore - both good but very different styles. Current guy is very good though. Others were rubbish. Quote Link to comment
Lone Ranger
I am even more surprised nobody has mentioned Caroline Cossey aka Tula who is the only transexual to ever appear in a James Bond movie. I remember reading about her in my dads Daily Mail at the time the film For Your Eyes Only was released in which she played an extra. I even went as far as to copy her name down and checking it up in the phone book for a meet. Quote Link to comment
deepthroat
I'm struck by how many have noted that the Moore films were "good but in a different style." For me looking backwards, the Moore films are cartoonish caricatures of the genre. For this I have to lay most of the blame at the feet of the screenwriters, but Moore definitely played a part in the series devolving into absurdist kiddie-matinee crap. I cannot think of Moore as Bond without thinking of Richard Kiele as "Jaws", and the horrible subplot that this devolved into. Sort of like the original Godzilla film (quite serious with resonant cultural keynotes) devolving into the child-friendly likes of Godzilla vs The Smog Monster. Quote Link to comment
JaiDee
Roger Moore for me....I like Connery also but I think the 70's Bond movies were the best ones; "Live and Let Die" was awesome. Britt Eckland......ouch, my loins are still hurting from all the J/O material she provided.....someone also mentioned Barbara Bach, and don't forget Jane Seymour as Solitaire; yummmmm. DT, I liked Denise Richards also in Wild Things, was she ever in a Bond Movie? I haven't seen too many of 'em in recent years. Quote Link to comment

Of all the Moore Bond films, Live and Let Die is my favorite, simply because it hadn't devolved into cartoonish buffoonery yet. That would truly begin in earnest with the next film The Man With The Golden Gun. I still cannot watch that without hearing Herve Villachet exclaiming "Da plane! Da plane!" Yup, Denise Richards played Dr. Christmas Jones in The World Is Not Enough. Her outfit seemed to be patterned after the popular Lara Croft Tomb Raider video game. Best line in the film: after taking her to bed, Bond exclaims "Hmmm... I thought Christmas only came ONCE a year." P.S. - in the interest of full disclosure, I will admit that she's been voted "worst Bond Girl of all time" in at least one fan poll. Quote Link to comment

JaiDee
Yup, Denise Richards played Dr. Christmas Jones in The World Is Not Enough. well, therein lies the problem.....I checked IMDB and see that was one of the movies with Remington Steele {Brosnan] as Bond so there would have been no reason for me to check that out....although now that I know she was in it I may be torrenting it soon LOL. *TV-trivia fact; Denise had a bit role in one of the later Seinfeld episodes as the 16-year old daughter of a TV exec; George got caught staring at her boobs, classic stuff and she was hotter than hell back then. My favorite bond line was when Moneypenny told Bond, who was in bed with some Danish babe- "Oh James, you are quite the cunning linguist". Not sure which movie that was but what a great line. JaiDee
Not a true Bond girl because she only had a minor role, but surely deserves some honorable mention here, and from a fairly decent Roger Moore vehicle, "For your eyes only" in 1981 which I have seen many times. Name; Lynn Holly-Johnson , yummm - but then again I've always been a sucker for blonds. First photo is from when she was in bed waiting for James but she turns her down because he says she was too young; and the problem is, James? Quote Link to comment
Kahuna
Another bit of interesting trivia... The very first James Bond to hit the screen...albeit it was the little screen...was a Yank...Barry Nelson played James Bond as an American agent in a television production of Casino Royale in October l954...They paid Fleming $1,000 for the rights to Casino Royale...Linda Christian played Valerie Mathis to become the first Bond girl and Peter Lorre played Le Chiffre...The Leiter character was played by a Brit...Apparently they swapped Bond's and Leiter's nationalities for the American audience... I have a copy of it on DVD...it's a kinescope so the quality is poor... It basically sucks...but worth watching once if only to say I watched it... Quote Link to comment
