Tomorrow, I'm summoning Pdoggg to the Golden bridge for a sword duel. He's stolen my initials, so I get to choose the weapon. How kind of me to give him a fighting chance.

Well, our fate will be in the hands of God, so I guess that's reassuring... or not.

WOW.....saw the video PG posted.  He has scary eyes.  He has an answer for everything.  But how do you distinguish between him and a politician?  He is so absorbed in his world, like a robot turn on the switch and watch him go.  I do give him credit for taking the interview, most would have duct it.

I was looking back at some old posts and came across this one. It was a follow up to one I made about Kenneth Copeland.

Coincidently, yesterday I was talking to two ladies who happened to be quite religious. Brought up in Southern India as Protestant Christians. The conversation wandered onto the basis of faith and what it does for you.

I find it a bit disturbing that people in this day and age can still believe in the man up in the sky. We discussed the fact that most people who belong to a religious faith do so because they are brought up by their parents to believe in the same stories/faith. They acknowledged that, but did not see past that fact that if you were born in the Middle East chances are that you would belong to the Islamic faith etc etc..

It was refreshing to see that they were quite willing to debate the subject. Me trying to debate on cold facts and them quoting text from the Bible. Such as Adam and Eve etc..

When I asked them how long they understood Man had been on earth, they had no idea despite the general feeling by Christians that it is about 5700 to 6000 years, despite scientific studies which show it to be many times that and we evolved from another life form.

We discussed why humans had religion. I stated that one reason is that we want to believe that there is an after life. We dont just die and turn to dust.

The elder lady, (the mother of the other), then told me of her experience when her husband had passed away about 2 years ago. She said he died in her arms and she was smiling when it happened as he was going to a place where they would meet again. I think it sort of proved my point.

I was also reminded of a conversation I had a with a guy who bought a car off me. When he took it for a spin I asked him where he came from and he said Iran and that he was a Muslim. He was quite open about his religion and surprised me when he said that the purpose of religion is to control people. Basically in years past you had royalty, then religious figures/the church, then the people. Religion did the job of keeping the people in check and under the influence.

A rather unfortunate byproduct of religion is the number of wars fought because of it. Religious people will often state that the worlds great warmongers/killers were athiest. eg Hitler and Stalin. Hitler was certainly not opposed by the Roman Church and Stalin by the Russian Orthodox. Not exactly innocent bystanders.

Sorry to get a bit heavy by bringing up the subject but there you go. Whats the old saying. Never discuss religion or politics?. Doesn't leave much else does it?. Maybe lady boys?.

ps The woman were great people and would probably be shocked if they knew of my perverted behaviour!

I was also the first time I met you;)

I agree with the general thoughts you state above, particularly how so many people today still believe in a man in the sky.  Reminds me of this meme I came across a few years back.

Well matey, I still shake my head when I think of all the perverted things you got up to in your previous life. Just beyond belief!

I am like a choir boy compared to you.

Oh shit, I just thought. Some choir boys get up to no good!

Talk about coincidence!

Probably should not continue on this line but here goes.

After the above conversations I thought it was finished, but no. I open youtube on my phone and what should appear but a debate about things which include religion.

The panel included a Catholic church spokesperson, a woman who also is Catholic, and a Muslim spokesperson, plus a couple of others. Lastly there was Christopher Hitchens.

Many questions were debated including one about whether a nonreligious person could become leader of countries such as the UK, Australia, and the US. The discussion seemed to think it would be possible in the UK and Australia, but not in the US unless they pretended to be religious. How prophetic! This debate occured in 2009.

I think it is only fundamental Evangelical Christians, mainly in the USA, who believe that, not most Christians today

Climate Warming - will flood the earth by year 2000 (Al Gore).  Climate Change - we will all be dead in 7 years (AOC).  Evolution - from a Sea Lion sperm (Woodie).

No no no Zeppie, not from sea lion sperm.

We came into this world from Adam and Eve. You know, the very white Anglo Saxon like they used to use in tv ads. He was dark haired and she was blonde with blue eyes.

Geez, it is so obvious!

That is why we have very large populations that have Asian features. No such thing as evolution. I think it takes many many thousands of years for evolution to take place if at all. I think other races such as Asians, Africans etc came from another part of the garden.

I don't think anyone walked on water. (Unless it had ice on the top!)

By the way the word is arse. And I don't think I made smart arse comments. Just opinions, obviously contrary to yours. I think that is allowed?.

I find it peculiar how the conversation is unfolding. The episode of Jesus walking on water is linked to the faith that the disciples placed in Jesus Christ. Nowadays, we might rather speak about self-confidence and trust in oneself and others.

As for those who believe that the world has only existed for 5600 years, they are creationists, a new form of fundamentalism emerging among Christians and Muslims. The Covid crisis and the nonsense exchanged on social media have unfortunately allowed all these fanatics to spread their views on the web.

not most Christians today

I think most modern Christians are modifying their belief to fit in a bit better with what science is trying to tell them. Although I dont think it needs a degree from Oxford or Stanford to work it out.

I don't think he is, but he seems to encounter many creationists and forgets that the vast majority consists of people who are not. However, I was pondering the original topic: the 'good old days' or the 'golden age,' as @Rom says. Last year, I believed that the good old days would return. Now, I can see that business is picking up, but there are fewer customers, fewer ladyboys, and (unfortunately) higher prices characterizing this new scene.
