  1. If it involves money, membership fees, etc. you can be sure that Thai authorities will not let it operate without interference. As far as how can a Thai take over ownership from a Farang - in the first place the Farang never had 100% ownership of the business. In the 2nd, it is Thailand - it is a simple matter for them to prepare fake documents to make it appear that the other partner gave up or sold their shares - even if contrary to the facts. JustSumGai - remember it's their country and their rules.
  2. Sorry to let you know that the VJ Internet Cafe has been sold and the staff have scattered.
  3. It's that time of the year again! The 2013 Hua Hin Elephant Polo tournament is on, and yes, the Tiffany Show has a team in again. Here's something from http://www.nationmultimedia.com/sports/Miss-Tiffanys-team-win-hearts-in-Hua-Hin-30213789.html I'm sure Miss International Queen 2012, Kevin Balot wasn't expecting this as part of her duties! A video to go along with this story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lxlb07ZEV8Q
  4. Down to the final two And the winner, Miss Laos Miss AC/DC 2012 Done for another year! I've heard the the date for Miss AC/DC 2013 is Dec. 14.
  5. You should always wear your seatbelt while flying even when the fasten seatbelt sign is off. Even new airplanes cannot detect turbulence ahead of time and this is a reminder of what can happen - even to the biggest passenger jet in the sky, an A380. This article is from today's http://www.bangkokpost.com/business/aviation/367253/45-hurt-as-plane-hits-turbulence
  6. TC, it has to do with a bunch of fake visas that recently disappeared from the Thai embassies in Kuala Lumpur and Brussels (the Hague). Over 3000 Thai visa stamps have disappeared and now all hotels and currency exchange booths, etc are to ask for the passport to check for these fake stamps, even when changing bills. It turns out that they are being sold, some to criminals to enter Thailand for nefarious reasons. This will likely continue for some time until they sort out this mess. PT good governance strikes again!
  7. The runner up presentations (all crowned by the 2011 runner ups) The bikini brigade! The 4th runner up The 3rd runner up The 2nd runner up
  8. It is still much the same JD - however, my ex-gf told me there are a few post-op lbs (the cream of the crop, 100% passable, beautiful ones) working in a few of the karaoke clubs there. These would be the petite ones, who act like ladies (no over the top lb screaming, etc.). Of course they would never admit to being an lb to their customers there.
  9. Many of those who proclaim they want a bf/gf relationship with an lb will often fool around on the side. Is that any different than what a Thai lb will do? There is likely a small minority of guys who would be strictly monogamous with an lb gf, which is probably around the same percentage of lbs who would be monogamous with a single guy. If an lb is in the p4p scene, as we all have heard the stories and seen the evidence, the % of not working is low. I think that an lb gf who was not in or from the p4p scene would be a different story. My question is what about you? Can you avoid the temptations? I think very few of us can - so why bash the lbs so much when the guys probably cheat just as much and likely lie about it as often too?
  10. As I posted earlier, these things go in cycles, The doom and gloom sayers of high baht for a protracted time forget that the country's fundamentals also impact the exchange. Thailand's current government is making an economic mess of things, and it appears they will continue to do so for at least 2 more years, and maybe 6 if PT win the next election.
  11. He's located in the Great White North (Canada) - but I'm sure the call centre has been outsourced to a non-North American country - most likely India.

Come on seven, do you believe Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, etc are any different? All these tech companies mine information and use it for profit one way or another. In the digital age, the only way to have privacy is to go "offline".
  13. You guys are assuming that's her actual name - it is more likely a "stage" name like many Japanese and American porn stars use. It would be pretty naive of someone, especially an internet saturated country like Japan to pose for porn photos using their actual name.
  14. Sounds like Sunee Plaza must of been one of their targeted sweep areas (29 underage men employees I'm assuming). For those who search for Femboys in Sunee and other places in Pattaya - be very careful and the same holds true for lbs. Check their age before getting involved.
  15. Last of the impromptu speeches, and then farewell from the beautiful Miss AC/CD 2012! Fare well number from Miss AC/DC 2011
  16. Swedeman, it has to do with multiple factors. If she is willing and has not been paid or given any inducements to have sex (ie prostitute herself), then the consensual age is 15. However, if payment, etc. has been involved she has to be at least 18 - which is my understanding. It seems in this case he was offering her inducements, so waiting until 15 would still have ended up with him being charged. Of course the fact he is a Pattaya Police volunteer casts his judgement as completely poor.
  17. Down to the final 5, and their last set of impromptu questions.

    Best Internet

There is an option to buy an "air card" usb modem. This allows the user to access the internet via a prepaid sim card. The drawback is the speed is not as fast as wifi. The advantage is that is is quite reliable. The download speed is approximately 21 MBps (via 3G). This is good for e-mail and casual web browsing. An air card modem can be purchased from Tukcom . Here is a photo of one from North America:
  19. BB = Bukit Bingtang (Jalan Bukit Bingtang). I think the action on Bukit Bingtag is found mostly on the street. There are very few clubs like Beach Club or Thai Club in KL that have lbs present. The scene in Malaysia is very different than Thailand.
  20. She is Nong Belle - the Thai lb who made a big splash on Thailand's Got talent - singing with a female and male voice. She's also been a member of Venus Fly Trap - the first Thai lb pop group, and movie actress. Clearly it's not her as the "he", just clever video editing.
  21. There's also an exchange called Vasu Exchange that gives better rates than the banks - but they will only deal in cash - no credit cards or traveler's cheques. Their home page is http://www.vasuexchange.com/index.php They are located on Sukhumvit Soi 7.
  22. Getting a bit off topic, but still pertinent in terms of security - some Amazon reviews of the Milockie Hotel Safe lock: http://www.amazon.com/Milockie-17312-Hotel-Safe-Lock/product-reviews/B0042WWMA8/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt/185-0693090-6393125?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1 A couple of important points - it is not made of metal - it's plastic. The strap that secures the housing to the outside of the safe is nylon and can easily be cut. However a reviewer gave good upgrade advice. This would probably deter the quick grab thief, but a determined one would only be slightly delayed unless you did the upgrades.
  23. Hotel safe security is quite over rated. There is someone who has a master code/key that can unlock all the safes in the hotel. In addition see this video: SiamSam gives good advice about Traveler's Cheques - except that you will get a better rate from the exchanges in Thailand, so there is no need to exchange any in your home country. The Airport has exchanges open 24/7 - and the rates there are almost the same as the rates in the city. If you have a special credit card or a privilege account- a gold card for example - one of the benefits might be commission free traveler's cheques - that is a plus, and will save you something like 1.5% when you are purchasing them from your bank. American Express is usually the best company to use - a few of the others like Thomas Cook might not be accepted at all exchanges. Get the highest denomination cheques you can obtain - generally the 500 Euro or dollar ones. There is a stamp duty charge when cashing traveler's cheques - something like 27 Baht, so this cost is minimized with the higher denomination ones. Always have the numbers recorded and kept separately from the cheques, so you can get them replaced if lost or stolen. You also need to have the receipt as well. I store valuables locked out of sight in my luggage (hard bags), or I use the hotel lobby safe deposit. The method is to put your valuables in an envelope - sign it along the seal, then tape and staple it shut, so it is obvious is there has been any tampering. If you travel to LOS a lot, an alternate method is to open a Thai bank account and transfer funds to it before your trip, and use the Thai ATM card to withdraw cash when you need it. This avoids the 150 Baht extra charge almost all Thai banks apply when a foreign card is used in their ATMs. Also many of your home country banks charge extra for using an ATM out of their network, so the costs pile up. You can also use your home bank's ATM card - but you will be charged extra as mentioned, and you might not get the best exchange rate either, as the ATM exchange generally gives you slightly less than the posted rates.
  24. The Thai baht is under pressure because of the current political uncertainty. If this gets resolved peacefully, then the Baht will likely strengthen again. For those with Thai bank accounts keep an eye on the rates, and if it starts to get stronger again, transfer funds into your Thai account to get the best rate.
  25. Azza's quoting prices from "the good old days" probably from around 2008. I don't think 40 RM would do the job today. I have read reports from other forms that there are still lbs available around Beach Club - however police have been strict with lbs recently so it can be hit or miss, depending on which area the police concentrate on. There is also the Thai Club in this area. It's also been reported that prices are higher here due to focussing on the tourist market. Another area I've seen reports of Malaysian lbs around Bukit Bunting, but you would probably have to go there late at night.
