Patrick
So my turn to pose a question. I suppose this is not so hard if youve been there, but if not it could bee any number of places. That sounds a bit Irish, but that's not a clue. Quote Link to comment

JaiDee
is that Bern in Switzerland? Quote Link to comment
Lefty
Correctomundo Lefty! It was just a guess. JD said Switzerland, so I tried to think of another small country in that area. I would have guessed Lichtenstein next Quote Link to comment
JaiDee
If you has invested in THIS city's growth potential just 6 or 7 years ago you would have made some nice cash; one building here is kind of a dead giveaway but figured I'd throw it out there anyway; Quote Link to comment
JaiDee
Came across my newsfeed today, a nice winter scene from which city? Hint; USA Quote Link to comment
JaiDee
Haha, not Anchorage and I am sure the residents who live there would be upset to hear that! Winter makes a lot of cities and towns look the same, I guess. Anyone else? Quote Link to comment
bumblebee
A few islands dotted about so I'll take a stab at Helsinki. Quote Link to comment
Patrick
Did you think "Hint; USA" was a red herring? A City on the shores of one of the Great Lakes maybe...Detroit? Quote Link to comment

williethepimp
YESS!!! Logan Airport, upper left......with The Charles River running through the city, separating Cambridge on the left with Boston on the right. America's first city! what constitutes a city in america? same as UK? a cathedral?....... by the way,my one and only time in Boston(loved it by the way)...I particularly remember this memorial in boston park,i found the citation very moving......the MA 54th regiment, they made the film "glory" about it,starring denzil washingtonI Quote Link to comment
rxpharm
Very interesting to hear that williethepimp. I had no idea that the UK defined a city by the presence of a cathedral. In Canada - in Alberta it is determined by population. A city is over 100,000. a town between 1,000 - 99,999, a village 100-999, a hamlet less than 100. Quote Link to comment

JaiDee
Not sure what the criteria is here in the states, I think similar to Canada; the bigger you are, the right you have to call yourself a city. Boston does indeed have a LOT of history, it dates back to around 1630. Harvard was founded in Cambridge in 1636. BTW, Boston is in Massachusetts, which is a "commonwealth" and not a state. There are 3 other commonwealths, can anyone name them? I am in one right now..... Quote Link to comment
pdogg
i'll guess virrginia and kentucky for two of them Quote Link to comment
