JaiDee
Yeah, indeed the Book of Kells. When I was in Dublin I took my 14-year old to Trinity College and we waited in line to view it; I remember the look of disappointment on her face when we got up close, as in "you dragged me across an ocean to see THIS"? I myself thought it was quite cool! Quote Link to comment

Lefty
This thread reminds me of a famous quote "There is nothing so stupid as the educated man if you get him off the thing he was educated in." It's easy to come up with stumpers in trivia when one already knows the answers. :) Quote Link to comment
Lefty
I don't see any active unanswered questions currently in this thread. So I'll ask one. Who is the actor in my avatar and what is the name of the movie the pic is from? Quote Link to comment
Tomcat
I have no idea what the name is Teach, but isn't that the ancient ''computer'' some divers found off the coast of Spain? correct , The Atikythera Mechanism.. around 2000 years old . ( who would ever spell this correct) Going off at a slight tangent Ive heard it said that If the Romans hadnt speared Archimedes in his bath the Greeks would have had a man on the moon in 300AD.. ..ill go along with that books have been wrote about this artifact and indeed some claim that it was a form of computational device. JaiDee
Who is the actor in my avatar and what is the name of the movie the pic is from? Do you have the original photo? Could be a bit easier to see his face, the avatar pic is a bit small. Quote Link to comment
JaiDee
OK, since I got the computer one [kind of] right, my turn - with some movie trivia; In which movie did the following dialogue take place; 1] '' I don't suppose it would help if I told them I am not a homosexual.'' 2] ''Neither are they. You have to be human first. They don't qualify.'' Bonus question; real and character names of the 2 people who said those lines. Quote Link to comment
