Good to hear that you are at what most agree is the best hospital in Pattaya especially if you have good insurance. I've been wondering is if BHP has any sort of pre-acceptance plan, some sort of membership card of sorts that facilitates admitence? That's the hospital where I'd want to go.

Today the baht busses at Pattaya Tai headed to Jomtien were loading today at the front of the queue rather than the rear. This is a rare stroke of common sense. Hope it stays this way.

As a resident of the Pattaya Metropolitan area I'm also very interested in the asking prices and real prices of getting into the bar (and other) businesses. On Nick's Youtube channel he discusses prices at the empty Blue Ratree beer bar complex near Action Street. The key money for one of the little bars at Blue Ratree is 2 million baht which seems excessive for what has always been a poor location. On the other hand MIT has always been a busy location and probably now even more valuable given the success of Treetown.

The 90 day report at Jomtien is very quick at Jomtien these days. They also built a nice new building which is where you get a queue number although you can also get it inside the main building but I suspect that in a couple of months you won't get the initial screening in the old building. The new building has great AC and a pleasant place to wait to get your passport back if doing a 90 day report. It's also where you collect your certificate of residency although you apply for the residency certificate at Window 9 of the old building. You need the residency certificate if applying for or renewing a Thai Driver's license. You might also need it if opening a Thai bank account. This residency certificate is not the TM 30.

Looks like they are building a brand new set of beer bars at the old MIT beer bar complex. My guess is that originally it was going to be redeveloped as condos but the market is too soft for condos.

A serial transgender person was arrested by police once again for snatching gold necklaces from foreign tourists near Pattaya Beach. Pattaya Police nabbed a transgender gold snatcher named Boonyawin or “Frame”, under an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court early this morning, June 1st. Boonyawin was brought into custody for allegedly snatching gold necklaces from Indian tourists on May 13th near Pattaya Beach. According to Pattaya Police, Boonyawin was a transgender person who had previously been prosecuted for pickpocketing foreign tourists on Pattaya Beach. After being released, she returned to commit the same crime, leading the court to issue a warrant for her second arrest. George Maharis, the ruggedly handsome New York-born stage actor who went on to become a 1960s television heartthrob as a star of the series “Route 66,” died on Wednesday at his home in Beverly Hills, Calif. He was 94. His longtime friend and caretaker, Marc Bahan, confirmed his death. Mr. Maharis’s greatest fame arose from the role of Buz Murdock, one of two young men who traveled the country in a Corvette convertible, finding a new adventure and drama (and usually a new young woman) each week on CBS’s “Route 66.” In a 2012 reappraisal of the show, the New York Times critic and reporter Neil Genzlinger praised the literary quality of the scripts and commented, “This half-century-old black-and-white television series tackled issues that seem very 21st century.” Several actors who went on to greater renown appeared on the show, including Martin Sheen, Robert Redford, Robert Duvall and Barbara Eden. “Route 66” began in 1960, and Mr. Maharis left the show in 1963.
