my grandad in Florida wore the white ones. As did many italian gents in Joisey when I was a kid (to the point where they were referred to as Guinea T's in those oh so bad pre PC days). This was always around the home and yard tho, NOT going out in public places. I've decided that most of these guys seem to think it's more comfy as the HEAT is KILLING them. Ppl just don't seem to care anymore. I've actually seen a woman in the supermarket in a housecoat and slippers. And lord knows the larger a person is the less they seem to care about how much of that they expose. I think maybe there is a "fuck you, I'm ME" component in some of this. Modern life is filled with "don't give a fuck" it seems. Maybe there's just a whole lot more CLUELESS out there now. I will say some of the clueless sorts might not pack for the HEAT and see other singlet wearers and think it's a good idea. Still, I find it vulgar. Never owned one, even when I was a rail in me yoot. I wear flip flops 24/7 ALL YEAR so sorry. I do have a nice black leather pair for going out tho :)

yeah, a real interesting thread. When I first started reading the now defunct stoagie forum, it seemed like everyone was all about getting to LOS and hating the day when they had to leave. Over time that enthusiasm seemed to change. Perhaps the core group got used to LOS and maybe even the ladyboy aspect somewhat. Reading this thread seems to have explained forum traffic and posting over recent years. All I could think of was getting BACK Thailand for the first several trips or more. At some point the luster seems to have worn off. Kinda became usual, normal, etc. Now I don't know but I suspect Thailand's political situation has had an effect to some degree. One can go from believing the smiles are real, to thinking they're sometimes real, to being sure they're mostly bullshit salesman's smiles. And the gov flip floppin on what they'll act on or not, it's annoying. I mean air dropped military raids on pleasure island? Sweeps for drugs, bans on chairs on the beach or EATING on the beach, it goes on and on. What was once gleaming silver for me is getting pretty badly tarnished now. Then too I gotta wonder if middle aged crazy is part of it too. Interesting thread for sure.

I think business only prospers after they've turned the market to SHIT. They can then employ ppl for little money, sell in all markets and buy up dying businesses, etc. They thrive if we suffer. Different kind of slavery. Sometimes life seems so fuedal.

heavens no, but they're such newbs at it. Quite basic. Also it does not bother me so much because it's not MY country. I'm greatly saddened to see the (at one time) promise of freedom turn into a promise of freedom to SHOP and constant almost humming backround noise to buy buy buy. Even PBS has basically gone commercial. Mostly the only exhortations to buy are beer banners in Cambodia where I might likely locate. Of course Bangkok or any major Thai city will be just about as bad, but since I don't speak Thai I don't notice the depth of soul selling purchase whores. I rather like it that food and a little beer can cause an instant party. Mostly I avoid tourist areas so what you speak of is not quite so prevalent (or obvious at least). Those types usually hot foot it to Bangkok or Pattaya, etc.

I'd move there for good in a heartbeat if I had the means. Everyone I was really close to has died in the last ten years, cancer, suicide, old age, cancer. I do not like the modern american "culture" (which seems 100% based on money and what you buy/wear/own). The movies suck, the cars are boring and the music...same. I feel like Rip Van Winkle, just woke up and don't see anything I know anymore. I find the weirdness of things over there wonderful. I LOATHE winter, and am used to heat and humidity so it's better for me over there that way too. No family. I never have gone as a holiday maker or ladyboy hunter. I barely even drink. I go to live there, in an everyday way, as I do there. I guess I am one who would say life is shit here for me. Boring. Time to move on. At the very least I'll spend as much time as possible over there. With any luck I'll move for good soon and go up a Wat chimney in due time. added for balance :)

So Pirate Bay down and reorganizing (might try oldpiratebay,) and like I figured, they're after the new #1, KickAss. They're kinda back up a bit, but it seems TONS of old torrents are just dead and broke from all this. Bugs me, I have several good ones at 90%...ACK! if you can't find some good movies on this one, you ain't lookin. I been DL'n the necessities for some time now suspecting the day would come (too soon) when torrents were a pain in the ass to find and complete. The sheer NUMBERS of ppl in the network was what made it work so good. utorrent is best if you're windows. I use Vuze on linux but the options are not as good. Utorrent will download stuff faster and in some cases files will start to download immediately that don't even BUDGE in Vuze on Linux. KMplayer is superior to VLC, no contest for me. You have to reset audio EQ everytime, it'll start in default. The control options are vastly superior in KM. Sadly y'all are at this a bit late as before they took down Pirate Bay there were jillions of hits on a google search of "movie torrent" and now, yeah, it's mostly just kickass. if you go thru Windows, DL PeerBlock also, as it'll block some intrusions to your system searching for downloads of copyright stuff, etc. Usually file size indicates quality of video, such as high def, or large screen size. Used to be a common movie size was 700 mb, now it seems to be 1.2 gig and i've seen it as high as 14 gig or some such nonsense. Files around 4 gig are often DVD format for folks that want to view the movie on their TV with a DVD player. Tho KMplayer and VLC will play it as well.
