Statistical Methodology:

Exit poll in key districts.

Then when the first real results come in from a polled district, check those results against the exit polls looking for systemic bias.

If no systemic exit poll bias is detected, it's then assumed that the exit polling methodology is correct and the exit poll data can be extrapolated to the rest of the state.

So far, Nate Silver at fivethirtyeight.com has been batting 1000 all night, he's got Obama at 90% chance of winning. Blue areas in Ohio & Florida, some in Virginia, not counted. California still to weigh in, & we just got Minnesota.
