  1. I really enjoy Geoff's videos, even his cooking segments. He's really trying to make a go of his new found Pattaya celebrity status it seems. In one of his more recent videos he's now diversified into selling t-shirts. I guess it can be lucrative if you get a good following. I was surprised to see Rob from 20 Seconds in Thailand makes ~$1000/month just from his Patreon donors. I wonder how well Youtube pays.
  2. Page 10 has been my go to hotel for years, they know me there by now and the manager and staff are quite friendly and do their best to look after me. Though I do miss Donut's presence. However after my recent stay in Feb, I've had similar thought's as Premier. The hotel is getting a bit run down and is not well maintained. A slap of paint on the walls and some spotty repair jobs. I got a good deal and tried it again this November. My feelings were confirmed. Although far from a dump, I don't feel it justifies it's price point anymore. I like the location so I'm considering other hotels in the area. The Stay, which is just down the road looks quite nice.
  3. I'll make sure they are on my packing list, and by the sounds of it I'll probably need to add a few more trips to the gym before my departure as well. I still haven't booked my hotels yet, I need to get my butt in gear.
  4. Loy Krathong coincides with my trip every couple years. My nights have always been pretty much the same as any other, except for the LBs being dressed in the traditional wear, which I love. So I'd probably be checking out Lita's and LaBamba as well. And Jim's suggestion of Jomtien sounds like a nice relaxing and enjoyable day. Two years ago I spent the night boozing it up at the GG gogos with SLBT before watching them launch krathong and light lanterns like the good third wheel I am. A romantic I am not, but it's always a good laugh watching the girls in high heels navigate the floating pier. My most memorable experience was spending the day on a forced route march with Big Tel over to the Sanctuary of Truth...nearly passed out from heat exhaustion and required immediate medication at the PBG. I probably wouldn't recommended it to others as the way spend Loy Krathong. But it was very memorable. I'm surprised I haven't been approached to write a cultural guide to Loy Krathong yet.
  5. I do enjoy your ability to slip anti-American rhetoric into just about anything Route67. It is a unique talent.
  6. I still have a long list of places to see and things to do in Thailand. I've been going there for almost 8 years now and only scratched the surface. Since getting bogged down in the trenches of Pattaya, I've only ever made it to Bangkok and Phuket. My first trip I was there mainly as a tourist and squeezed as much into a week as I could. Then I found Pattaya and it was downhill from there. I really didn't want to spend my two weeks a year sightseeing when I could be balls deep in Ladyboy's instead. About the only thing I've seen in Pattaya is the Sanctuary of Truth. However I've recently changed my outlook. I miss the tourist stuff. I added a side trip to Angkor this year and it help make it one of my best trips yet. I'll be adding in plenty of side trips and sightseeing from now on, until I can finalize my plans to spend a bit longer in the LOS. The list of places I still want to see is much longer than the places I've been.
  7. I definitely don't mention Pattaya either. And even though I've never been, I also use Hua Hin as my destination, as xyzzy mentioned I get that dazed looked. But people seem to want to do a Google search on where I'm going, which can still lead to some interesting results if they are just a wee bit interested. I might need to switch to Jomtien as well. Sometimes they also want to know about the hotel I'm staying in, which can be tricky too..I usually tell them I look around for a place to stay once I arrive. I'm starting to realize I create more of a back story than I thought. After all these years the lies seem pretty normal to me.
  8. I tried to use a cover story years ago, but it backfired on me. I now just tell people I'm heading to Thailand and deal with whatever comes my way. While there is still the occasional twat at work that wants to give me sh*t, most don't say a thing. Those that have known me for years just say "Again? When are you going to try someplace else?" I usually respond to the "Why Thailand?" with - I can live for two weeks in Thailand for the same price as one week in Mexico or the Caribbean. Plus I love Asia, the culture, the food, the cities, the beaches....blah, blah. I ramble on ad nauseum till they are sorry they asked. These days my trips rarely get talked about with My family and friends. I don't think they really want to know what I get up to and prefer to let the veneer of tourism stay in place. There is always an awkward moment when I tell them I'm heading back. That silent disapproval which speaks volumes. Who knows what they really say behind my back. But there did seem to be a sense of relief when I told them I was visiting Angkor this year.
  9. Guess Big C didn't find it funny either...the article has been removed.
  10. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I totally agree. View ticks all the right boxes for me. I usually don't care if a particular LB is still around when I return for another visit as there is so much choice in Pattaya, but she has me keeping my fingers crossed.
  11. I used the 69 B package last week. I found the codes online and just plugged them into my phone, didn't actually go to the store. They say it is unlimited, but you get 750 MB at 3G -- which was more than enough for a week. http://www.ais.co.th/3g/en/package.aspx?id=4&type=mobile_package#tips
  12. I just stayed at the Page 10 and can only reiterate how horrible the wifi is there. So bad in fact, I went to TukCom and spent 80 Baht for a 5m Ethernet cable. Which allowed me to work on my computer at a nice 100 mbit connection speed. However that doesn't help a tablet, phone, or kindle. Page 10 has gone down hill in general while their room prices continue to climb. For the prices they charge, it should have solid wifi. I started to look for other options while I was still in town.
  13. That sign gave me a bit of a chuckle, though it maybe working, I haven't seen any of those types of posts in a little bit. Maybe it's my Tom Selleck mustache or simply saying hello on the way in, but I I never experienced the feeling of being ignored. Even though most remain outside as advertised there was always the clatter of high heels on tile of someone following me through the door. They'd set me up with a drink and stay around for a chat if desired. Would even get a few drive byes to say hello. All very hassle free and enjoyable.
  14. I had a few nice visits to LaBamba recently and must say there are some cracking girls at the bar these days. Good times. View is even more beautiful in person than her photos. No doubt she'll be sponsored out again soon. I'd have let her drain my bank account had she only asked

    Lita Bar

Quite possible that may have been my trio that you saw roll in. (with me playing the role of 3rd guy) A very nice lineup there at the moment. Sorry I saved the visit till my last night. Just don't get down to walking street much these days.
  16. Saw this in the news not too long ago... kind of put me off checking out the place http://www.pattayaone.net/pattaya-news/168410/brit-and-australian-in-stun-gun-fight-outside-central-pattaya-guesthouse/
  17. Great collection of photos the Game and great idea for a thread Pentire. While I only visited the original Guess Bar once in 2007 on my maiden voyage, it was my initiation into the world of ladyboy's and a visit I'll never forget. The lovely Eats and her mighty love truncheon was my first ever ladyboy, the experience was a fantastic and ushered in 7 more years of debauchery.
  18. I didn't see this posted else where, so wanted to bring this to attention. Appears LBR has been hit with the URL4Short redirect. Saw it happened to LBF recently as well. When you use google and click on the ladyboyreview.com/forum link - you are redirected to the url4short webpage. Or to a direct attack page - fortunately my virus software stopped the attack. If you visit directly or to the main url everything seems fine. Has anyone else experienced this recently? Edit: I should add probably not recommended to try it just to see as the redirect is an attack site.
  19. Is that Wat Yan? Looks like the weed wacker must be out on loan.
  20. They have certainly added some nice new members to the lineup. This one is a real beauty.
  21. Glad you are on the mend BB, sounds like that was a very serious injury. When I read broken arm, I wasn't thinking pins and surgery, no wonder it cost so much. I'll be double checking my documents before liftoff and taking some of the tips in mind, like highlighting the phone numbers and having some Skype credit on my phone.
  22. Wow B, that is crazy. Are you doing well? They got you in a cast? Good thing you had insurance. Your friendly reminder is a good thing. I always have travel insurance, but when I had my ankle sprained a few years ago, I didn't have any of the important documents with me. Petesie, the good friend he is got me back to my hotel after the incident, the Pattaya Bay Resort. I asked the receptionist if there was an ice machine (yeah good luck). The owner was there, an ex-paramedic from the States, he took one look at my ankle and said 'we're taking you to the hospital'. Petesie, my LB, and I hopped in his SUV and drove to the hospital on Soi 4. When I was filling out the paperwork at the hospital, they asked me about my insurance. I had it, but didn't have any documentation on me. At that point all I was taking out with me was a pocket full of cash and my passport. I was worried as shit, thinking I wouldn't be able to pay the bill, at the time the pain was intense and the swelling was orange size, I thought I had broken it. They brought me back, x-rays, meet with the doctor, off to get the foot medicated and wrapped, one week of prescription meds - turned out to be less than my pocket money for the night. But from then on I always carried the the card and other information with me. I'm shocked that the cost of a broken arm was so much - 12,000 USD sounds like it would be expensive even if I had the treatment done in the U.S. Excellent advice you posted and sobering reminder. Hope you are doing ok.
  23. Jaidee - Should you have an Anti-Virus product on your PC? Absolutely Should you have an Anti-Virus product on your PC if you frequent porn sites? Ab-so-Fucking-loutley Which Anti-Virus is the best? I'm not going to give you my opinion on all the products out there, plenty of review sites for that. My short answer would be, if Norton worked for you and you were happy with it, pay the money and renew. It's a solid product and these guys are in the business of securing corporate networks. My only concern would be is that if you have to download a newer version of norton, your older machine might not be able to handle it and slow down just like when you installed the new software you purchased. If you are just renewing a license key, should be back to business as usual. Personally, I recently went through something similar. I let my Norton subscription expire not too long ago because I wanted to go the free route thinking I'd save a few bucks.. Two weeks later I uninstalled the freeware because I was unhappy and I paid up Norton. I am happy once again. It's a solid product and the $70 for 3pc price gives me peace of mind and no hassles. Other things that PC users need to do to improve their protection other than an Anti-Virus software. Create a Non-Admin user account that you use for day to day use. Only use the admin account when you need to install software or perform other admin functions. (Linux/Unix/Mac have this built in, Windows you have to do it yourself) Put your windows updates on auto-update. Don't select "I'll do it later", you won't or it will be too late. Update Flash and Java on your systems immediately when prompted, don't wait till later. Zero day exploits in these two applications lead to a large number of virus 'outbreaks' that AV programs can't stop. The outbreak on Apple computers that a lot of the anti-apple brigade like to point to, in order to say "see Apples get viruses too" came through a java exploit on users machines. Which leads me to the next point... If you have Java installed on your computer, but don't need it, uninstall it. It is a Hackers dream. (Java is not the same as JavaScript, which is used by your browser -- even though they share the same name. Just to make things confusing) Don't disable User Account Controlls - you may get annoyed by the alert every time you want to install or run a program that needs admin access, but it's alerting you for a reason. Most applications you run after install won't need that access. If you are on OS that is out of date WinXP or earlier - you need to update. You'll get a safer PC and a much improved computing experience because PC's have come a long way in 5 years. (But consider waiting to 2015 if you can't stomach Win8- rumor has it a Windows 9 is on it's way. Windows 8 seems destined to take its place among Vista and WinMe) Backup everything that is important to you -- frequently. No Anti-Virus are perfect and zero day exploits will never be caught. Whether you get hit with a virus that hijacks your system beyond repair or maybe it is just that your HDD just dies, it doesn't have to be the end of the world. You can rebuild your system and restore your backups. Losing your treasured photos and memories is heartbreaking, and doesn't need to happen.
