  1. That's because there's more often than not a ladyboy totally nekkie hanging out in my room. She does live there too, so she does have an excuse Weather over the next few days doesn't look very rosy
  2. Also with the added benefit of being able to take shelter when it starts raining. Heavy and persistent rain in Pattaya now and for the last hour or so on the afternoon of the event There's something to be said for being nice & cosy and dry at home indoors when it's chucking it down outside
  3. If one were to ponder for a moment upon how much either of these two bars would be affected, in terms of popularity and attendance, if either farang host no longer played a part in it and had nothing what-so-ever to do with their respective venue anymore, for whatever reason. Would that bar become a better or worse place, or remain much the same?
  4. I've stopped consuming alcohol with my Full English breakfast already, but the asbestos and arsenic will have to wait until new year when I resolute. There is a thing as too much too soon. Even drinking too much water can kill you, it's called water intoxication. Maybe I'll just suck teabags from now on.
  5. I agree, a most excellent movie. Along with Good Will Hunting they are my two favourites of his. There was also something very sinister I enjoyed about One Hour Photo too. I always thought he was at his best in more serious roles.
  6. Halloween was never much at all in the UK, at least not for me or mine. Therefore I've never felt able to get into the spirit of it abroad. Despite some of the girls seemingly spending decent time and money on elaborate costumes and make-up it is all lost on me, plus the energy required to feign being entertained by it all is something I'm unable to muster. Halloween in the UK is about as popular as thanks-giving is in the UK and that is not meant as a slant towards any of my (our) American friends. It seems to be more an American thing as highlighted in numerous movies to that effect. For me it will be just another normal night spent at home, out of the way
  7. I voted Scott, and Other. When Sensations first appeared 3 years ago and Scott and the bar were the talk of the town I made a conscious effort not to get sucked/suckered in to what appeared to be excessive fawning, particularly by the noisy LBP fraternity. I didn't really know Scott at the time. However, once living within a few minutes walk of the place and once the loudest clientele were out of town during low season it quickly became my favourite bar. Despite other contenders recently entering the scene Scott has never had any real competition from my perspective. Simply put, Scott is a decent guy who always comes by to say hello whenever he sees me in the bar. Out of the two main girlfriend-friendly venues (the other being 69) he is the only one who treats my girlfriend with respect and always makes her feel very welcome, which was not the case at the other. That decision never to return to the other bar was made definitively by her, not me. I have my own separate reasons for not bothering to go there much. The term 'host' is an interesting and good choice of terms. As we know, none of these guys are the actual bar owner, more like a bar owner by proxy. It is a Thai partner who is the true owner. La Bamba's farang 'host' is almost conspicuous by his absence in the poll, as are our French friends at The House. Arguably Vinee at Fantasy Lounge could have been included too, but he doesn't reside in Pattaya so is rarely seen, even though the same could be said of Dave at Kings Bar. I like Vinee, so he can have a share of my 'Other'.
  8. I'm lost as to which picture is being referred to.
  9. That bar was called Cat's Place and was perhaps an 8 minute walk or so from Minou's old location. Cat's Place was situated behind Tukcom and remnants of its signage still exist today. The unit has remained empty and unoccupied since it closed quite a few years ago, as far as I can tell. It was alright in there. I too very much like the relaxed seating and the overall laid-back style of Sunee's outdoor areas. I personally think Sunee could do with a very girly-femboy-type bar in which the boys look oh-so-girly as they learn their feminine craft. It seems there are a few of that silicon-free type scattered around the area, so if they were corralled into one convenient ladyboy-schooling bar then it would be rather nice and may draw more femboys to indulge. Perhaps it could be called 'Bus Station', as that's where they'd arrive nice & fresh from the Issan factory.

  11. A few small adjustments to last years post by Duke, but it's approaching that time of year again How time flies. I'll be there
  12. Very tasty indeed. She'd fit in well down at Sunee with that short hair. In which case I'd probably find myself lingering down those parts a bit more often.
  13. It is now 10.40pm on the night in question .. I just woke up after having taken a nap. Current state of being says .. meh. The meatballs will have been interfered with by now anyway, so I'll eat elsewhere.. sorry no pics.
  14. I have 6 Facebook accounts of which 3 I visit almost daily. None of them are even close to being me, just various invented personas. None are used for nefarious purposes, just a few games and interests anonymously. .. such as Candy Crush level 1128 I know it can happen through making too many friend requests in too short a space of time, but didn't know leaving requests unanswered could be an infringement. Are you sure? .. I have a long list of requests that remain unresponded to across numerous accounts.
  15. I know quite a few of you guys are out of town on this night, so I'll do the gentlemanly thing and represent LBR at Baby Boom's opener. I must confess, I'm very much looking forward to those meatballs
  16. I know many of you are already familiar with the following Thai phrase, but as it is one of those phrases which is not always easy to translate, for others, the above news report helps to explain it. The confiscation, combined with the distasteful display of wealth, makes for a nice example of som nom na
  17. I wonder if these events wiped several smiles from their smug little farang faces. .. one of those smiles seems to have ended-up on my face, and it's a rather big one too
  18. This unfortunate story only reiterates the mantra: never invest more than you are prepared to walk away from. Rent in Thailand. Never buy.
  19. It seems Duke has gone all bashful as no posts from him so far in this thread. If someone mentions Sonia, Cartoon, or Owe then it shouldn't be long before his forum auto-search utility brings him here
  20. Was going to meet Xyzzy tonight for food but we cancelled that just after 8pm. The heavy afternoon rain had ceased for a few hours by that point but the place was already flooded. Then it rained again around 9pm for another hour, albeit nowhere near as heavy. Having stayed in playing with myself, by the time 1am rolled around I was hue marg marg (starving), so decided to go see how the water levels were ... Around 1am the water had subsided but was still ankle-deep next to my place, but knee-deep further down the soi towards Buakhao. I didn't fancy wading through that murky muck so took a walk the long way around. Update: 6am and it's pissing down heavily again.
  21. Bla bla bla ... That's what happens when I post before reminding myself of the event dates (according to the LBR calendar) Pool Party ~ 3rd November LBWVB ~ 7th November Several days apart, so no major issues after all Doesn't change my vote though
  22. Which is why you never put all your eggs in one basket. No return ticket either? I wonder what the equivalent of "up a creek without a paddle" is in German?
