Anyone who has spent more than 15 minutes with a LB will know that herding cats is often easier. We are still missing photos for Nan, Bam and Ying and the group shots of the service ladies, and I will chase Nam again for these. Today;s group set is 'The Big Five'. Whenever tourists go on safari in Africa, the Big Five is their main checklist. At this point I need to provide a month-end update on the girls. Two have left this month: Bam - who was with WN04 around 6 months. She has returned back to the ville in Laos. Ping/Ping Ping - Arse lovers all over the galaxy will be sad to hear that one of BKK's Top 3 Bums has jetted off to Dubai, where the sand is browner. I am beyond distraught over this news and hope she will come back to WN04 after her 90 days visa is up. I think visiting DXB during Ramadan wasn't the best laid plan in terms of making money. To mark the occasion, today's Welsh Doll of the Day is Nan, from Llanfairpwll-Pakse. Nan is always a lot of fun and has decent English. She is also great at communicating via facial expressions and has perfected the eye roll and does a great look of disdain. This often makes an appearance when I walk into the bar. Ex-CIB, Nan joined WN04 post-Covid I believe. I wanted to hold off until I had it confirmed that all was OK, which Nam provided today. Two buddies of mine were having a drink at WN yesterday when there was an almighty crash from somewhere outside. All of the LBs ran outside and a crowd of gawkers rapidly appeared. They stayed inside, assuming it was one of the regular 'motocy' accidents that occur on soi 4 and had no desire to watch any drama. A while later Lukpla came back inside and dragged them outside to look at the single story building next door to WN04. This was the view: My first instinct was uh oh -- the latest member of the BKK Flying Club! Piecing the story together, Mae one of the service girls had locked herself out of her room upstairs. So she decided to clamber in via a window, slipped and fell through the roof of the building next door! You cannot make this up. About an hour later she re-appeared limping and then started serving behind the bar! Thankfully, the Penguin sent her off to recuperate for the rest of the night. Talk about a very lucky escape indeed! Nam reckons she is still a bit shaken, but otherwise OK. Nam now has to get the neighbour's roof repaired! This is the type of story that if you tried to tell your mates back home about, they would all just accuse you of making it up. Remarkably, there was an individual working just three feet away from where the lightning struck. Interestingly enough, this individual happened to be a taxi dispatcher, and I was driving a cab approximately half a mile away when I witnessed the lightning strike and heard about it on the radio. Suddenly, there was silence on the airwaves following by the sound of thunder. After dropping off my passengers at their destination, I returned to the office and found the dispatcher still alive but unable to speak, which was surprising given his tendency to shout loudly. Fortunately, the radio was repaired within a couple of hours. The most important thing is that the girl wasn't seriously injured. The scene was quite impressive.
