seven
C'mon Seven, how long must we wait? What's the answer man? Or should I "google" it? Oh, sorry. Well, lets see if i remember correct. I haven't seen this movie in 20+ years. The guys were discussing band names, as they didn't have one, and one came up with Smell the Glove after some sleazy porn mag, he read. It was very sexist and not very political correct( that wasn't invented back then), i think the image was a woman on a leash smelling a mans glove over her face. I'm not sure, but this is how i recall it. Really, check it out, paccers, the irony and sarcasms will not be lost on you The stonehenge incident had me in tears. Hilarious! Warning: If you're a metal fan with idols like Whitensnake and Sabbath you will never be able to see them the same way after watching Spinal Tap. I doubt tomcat appreciates it Quote Link to comment
SiamSam
Tom Petty? He's from Florida so just a shot in the dark.... Yup!!! Good for you Mr. Dee. Very impressive "shot in the dark". I have been and continue to be a big fan of Mr. Petty. He is quite remarkable and certainly in the same league as his brethren Willburys. Quote Link to comment
Tomcat
Sam you could have had a bonus question One member of the Wilburys has produced or co produced Albums for all the other band members at some point in his career Quote Link to comment

I doubt if it is Dylan or Orbison. Also doubt if it is Petty or Harrison. So I guess Jeff Lynne. Quote Link to comment
Tomcat
. So I guess Jeff Lynne. And it was he indeed Quote Link to comment
SiamSam
And it was he indeed I suppose this is why the others asked him to come aboard. Quote Link to comment

I doubt tomcat appreciates it I never even thought about investigating the Spinal Tap thing although a friend has mentioned it on occasion. I also thought they were a real band as i get mixed up with Primal Scream . There was an Iron Maiden Concert on the TV a few months back and some guys told me that its just like Spinal Tap ,. i thought what the fucks this all about... Love Metal and some of the best Bands come from Sweden now coincidentally , my favorite being Grand Magus.. Viking Metal, for want of a better word is growing and im a very big fan. Also Opeth are pretty big now in the Metal and Prog Metal scene..rated in the top three worlds best according to the Prog Community By the way the answer to the "Evanescence" question is they are from the USA.(.Not as well known as i thought then) Quote Link to comment

JaiDee
Yup!!! Good for you Mr. Dee. Very impressive "shot in the dark". I have been and continue to be a big fan of Mr. Petty. The other tip-off was when you said he saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show, that would be about his era. Petty has always been very proud of his Florida roots, I remember back to the days of 'Breakdown' and 'Refugee', popular radio songs when I was coming of age; never really got into his Willbury's stuff. JaiDee
All right, since you guys seem to be fans of American classic rock; how did the band Lynyrd Skynyrd get their name? Quote Link to comment

JaiDee
OK, the deal with the Skynyrd boys is that a few of them were in High school together and had a real pain in the ass teacher whose name was Leonard Skinner; he hated boys with long hair and gave them a lot of shit about it and apparently was a mean SOB. They bastardized the name a little and came up with Lynyrd Skynyrd. A new one, more on the pop side; What is Madonna's real first name? Quote Link to comment
Tomcat
Madonna I believe her Surname is Ciccone . the first name is maybe Maria but im not 100% but im in with it (Actually i think she has a middle name as well ..like Maria Donna Ciccone) Quote Link to comment
JaiDee
Madonna is correct! Quote Link to comment
