I drove Paddy Hopkirk through the streets of Leipzig, in the good ol' days, at top speed because he was late for his flight. The VOPOS were waiting for me on my journey back to the exhibition grounds

Whilst the Sales Manager of an international airline I met Arthur C Clarke several times, even was invited to his Sri Lankan home which was a bit creepy as he had a lot of pretty boys living there. Exceedingly interesting man.

The Supremes was also a good one, their flight was severely delayed so I took them to an old English river-side pub near to Gatwick and got them absolutely rat-arsed.

Not forgetting La Bamba Nancy who was my overnight guest on Friday night!! Phew that was a helluva ride.

great stuff .....paddy hopkirk, bloody hell,i havent heard his name mentioned in a while.....wouldn't it have been quicker to let Paddy drive-555?   Arthur c clarke, yeah ,you might have dodged a bullet there, rumour has it that he was a wrong 'un.

For which of you? :rolleye0012:

Amongst other things that occurred - I took one for the team!

No pics allowed unfortunately. Her rule.

As for Paddy Hopkirk.

I was a specialist travel agent in all E.Bloc countries with International Exhibition sites in what are considered obscure towns/cities but on the silk trade route from Asia to Europe of the 17th Century.

I had to go to Leipzig 4 times a year - 2 times as a legitimate businessman + 2 times as a military official (no names-no pack drill).

Paddy would still be driving well beyond his flight departure.

A fascinating past indeed Skin2fan and always great to hear about members' previous lives, cheers.

Having said that I reckon the Nancy encounter grabbed the attention of the more discerning (perverted) reader alas.

I got knocked back by Areeya in Phuket (2006?). Without knowing her from the next girl, I offerred her 1000 baht. She was very nice about it and didn't laugh in my face. Instead she found me some upstart femboy to go with me who wasn't that bad.  Then I discovered forums and found out who I was dealing with.

Yea she was in Patong around then.  Here she is getting attacked by my brother at Songkran outside Soi Croc.  That could be a thread in itself.  Have you ever been with Areeya?

Funny thing was BB.......we were working together and I asked her to get squeeze one out for the video and the photos.  She said she couldn't unless we had sex.

Hmmmmm......gotta take one for the team and all that!  So we went at it for a bit, I unloaded and then she did; and still had the presence of mind [somehow] to get the camera and video camera back out for the money shots

Of course I am partial because I took and own the photos,  but IMO Areeya never looked better than she did in this outfit and this gallery from spring of 2004, her first-ever appearance on the internet.

In retrospect BB, any potential photographer from Ireland would have really loved the freelancer job......basically all the sex you could ever want, and getting paid for it besides!

But, water under the bridge now, and it *was* potentially dangerous at times, maybe not worth the hassles.

Unlikely,  Globetrotter.....she would be in here early 30's by now and probably out of the scene, maybe even hooked up with some wealthy farang or 2,  but probably not meeting new people.   Although I can't really be sure, it's been at least 4 or 5 years since I last saw her.

Thats why i asked earlier why u didnt let him drive in Leipzig.....what happened to him, after the rallying finished -any idea skin2?

Firstly driving in Leipzig needed local knowledge. The airport was military and only used during exhibition times. Therefore no signposts. British Airways ran a special service for the exhibition as it was a major event. The guy who started MFI was one of my clients as that it where he started to source the flatpack furniture.

Paddy retired from racing then started his own motor accessory business. Everything from bulbs to steering wheels etc., all branded "Paddy Hopkirk"

TBH you should be more interested in Arthur C. Clarke he certainly was an enigma cloaked in a cloud of secrecy.

More or less the same as Nancy who strictly did not allow pics.

I'm curious to know more about Arthur C Clarke if you care to elaborate Skin2fan.

I heard his home on Sri Lanka was a real den of iniquity. Lots of young houseboys hanging around apparently.

I met him several times when he arrived into the UK and as a VIP had to escort him to London to meet his agent who was his un-identical twin brother, who had he booked into a Mayfair hotel.

So after a while we got to know each other.

I talked to him about my optical problem and he knew my specialist, whom I knew was gay but he was the TOP UK guy at that time, 1980's.

My optical surgeon was the innovator of over the counter reading glasses, he had a hatred of Dolland and Aitchison and campaigned big time over their over pricing and wanted Woolworths to sell un-prescribed glasses. It took nearly 20 years but it happened

Therefore we had a rapport.

So he gave me his address.

Arthur C. was way beyond everybody's timezone. His insight for the future was extreme, he knew that Satellite techno was the way forward. The Russians had just produced a new dish which they had sent to him for his testing so he said next time I'm in Colombo come and see the results.

Therefore I bowled up to his gated home on my next visit.

Yes he was surrounded by white robed very effeminate males who looked at me with a touch of distaste, cos I was young hansum man then.

Nevertheless Arthur C. was very informative about the new dish and could dissect many facets that were available at that time, even though computers were still in their infancy.

He foresaw a new computer age big time but was unclear as how it would occur his thoughts were definitely focussed on satellites and their use in modern times.

I once asked him what is the most un-explained phenomena that has perplexed him.

His reply was "A Fireball travelling from nose to tail through an aircraft"

Certainly I knew he had a penchant for young boys as did my surgeon but in the 80's you just kept quiet.

As for the "Fireball" no one really knows how, why or where but it's worth a Google.

Thanks S2F. It's not everyday you get insight into such a man's life. Arthur was more than just a famous author.

I will look at the story of the "Fireball". It's not something I have any knowledge of but it's very topical given the gossip surrounding MH370.

All the PR photos are in storage in the UK so next time I go back will scan them and post.

As an addendum Arthur was a bit Howard Hughes when it came to cleanliness.

All his flunkies were dressed in spotless white clothing, he was always also in white clothes.

I had to undergo a complete foot washing before being allowed into the house.

Cleanliness is close to Godliness I know but it was a bit freaky.

I have read about this before (maybe it was about arthur C)...I remember reading an account of an eye witness seeing a ball of fire travelling thru an aeroplane.....(Fortean Times anybody?)...I think it was postulated that the ball of fire/light whatever was the elusive "ball lightning" phenomena often spoken of but never fotographed
