  1. Before anybody asks - No, it wasn't Jimslim and myself!!!!
  2. The plane from bkk to samui earlymmorning new years eve was full of backpackers types going to the new year eve full moon party. Looking at most of them, I doubt they should be allowed to go to the end of the street without a sensible adult holding their hand, never mind go half way around the world to attend a party like this.
  3. I thought I read somewhere a few months ago that vapes were illegal in the bars in Thailand?? Maybe I read it wrong, or someone was exaggerating?
  4. Thanks for the update Gutsy, looks like a really good spot. Next time I am in BKK I will definitely call in, although I haven't been there for a while. BKK was a great spot back in the days of the original Guess, but when it started to go downhill I lost interest in visiting the big smoke.
  5. I've witnessed enough of those (for real) in my time Dukey without taking one as a drink. But I would imagine it is quite a cocktail. As for snakebite, I doubt our American friends would have tasted anything like it, I don't think you can even get cider in the U.S to make the mix??
  6. Possibly the most refreshing drink possible after an afternoon strolling the sois, I even got our old friend Jaidee hooked on them one afternoon.
  7. Very nice of somebody to honour Suzie's memory with this sizeable donation. Good luck with your last Volleyball competiton Rossco, I hope it is a success, and after it is all over, when you have your feet up, smoking your pipe and having a cup of tea and a Hob Nob biscuit, you will look back fondly on the memories.
  8. Nice find Billy - but I think it will amount to nothing. All well and good the Tourist Board basically "pleading" with tourists to start coming back, but until the locals start treating their guests with a little respect, people will continue to look elsewhere. Of course the locals wont change until the authorities start clamping down hard on the "wild dog" pack attitude when confronting a tourist, and I don't see that happening soon. Bottom line is they really don't like us all that much, irrespective of where we come from!! Now I know some tourists just can't behave themselves on holiday, and ask trouble, but that is still no reason for the attacks on foreigners we see now almost daily from the Thai locals. Every country that has a tourist industry sees the same thing, boozed up holiday makers misbehaving, but everywhere else seems more capable of resolving the situation in a civilized manner!!!
  9. It's at the bottom of Soi Honey, I think, so pretty central. Not sure about the rooms, but as it is open 24 hours, although it may not be a rocking party type of joint, I would assume there would be some sort of noise level, even in the wee small hours???
  10. Kev in Thailand does a good vlog on it on Youtube - as the Globe says, it looks like a really decent place, open 24 hours, and more TV screens than Curry's.
  11. RIP Aun, a genuinely nice person, who ran a good bar when she was in charge, and was always pleasant and remembered her customers. I will have some fond memories of her, especially the night Big Lefty sat on her dog in Corner Bar.
  12. Imagine taking "Lights Out" Janet home for a trip? You could send her out of an evening to beat the shit outta all your enemies, then take her back home to beat the shit outta you, in a much different way. Hmmm, magiiiiic!!!!
  13. I had a right royal rant for about 5 minutes in work today, about something so trivial it was unbelievable!!!! Those in the meeting with me just looked in total amazement and a hint of disbelief. It was only on reflection afterwards, the scary thought crossed my mind - "Oh Christ, I'm turning into my father""" Yikess!!!!!
  14. I will be around Flash, but only for one day - going home on the 7th. I'll buy you a beer if you're up for it.
  15. Will the two bombs set off in Hua Hin today be a vehicle to drive this absurd idea to fruition, in the very foreseeable future, I wonder???
  16. Does anybody recognise the ugly cunt in the picture, enjoying an afternoon coffee???
  17. I've rang the bell a few (several) times in La Bamba, but I always make sure it is only me and the girls present in the bar at the time, or any guys in the bar if I know them pretty well. I have no issue buying a beer for anybody, but I really don't see the point buying a drink for total strangers, for no reason. Maybe I am just odd, or miserable, or both??? One time I rang the bell in Lita's, as she, as always, had treated me very well during my holiday, even though I hadn't dropped a lot of money in her bar. So one afternoon, Lita and I were sitting drinking, there were only 3 other girls present, all sitting outside, so I figured "why not, I'll give a little back, without it hurting my pocket", hehe, trying to be a smart cunt! Well, Christ on a Bike, the fucking chimes hadn't stopped echoing, when I swear, about another 10 girls appeared, as if by magic, hooping and screaching, from all ends of what was a deserted, empty bar. Cost me a fookin fortune, serve me right for trying to be Jonny Big Balls!!!
  18. Not sure mate, but once you get yourself along to Sensations, don't be afraid to introduce yourself, and you will have no issues with hanging around with like minded guys. BTW, no problem bringing a LB back to the RCon, there may be a small charge if you bring two back, but most Pattaya hotels do this, hard to avoid unless you are staying in a Condo.
  19. Where to stay really depends on your budget mate. If you are only in Pattaya for 5 days, I would suggest the "Rcon Blue" (spelling) on soi Buakaow, behind Tesco Lotus. Good central location, only a 10 minute walk fro Sensations, Walking Street, La Bamba, and even less to the likes of Baby Boom. I think it will be about 700 baht a night in August, but don't quote me on that. A friend of mine stayed there recently and recommends it highly.
  20. Northernlid, welcome to the forum, and I hope you stick around for a while. You will find we are all quite a friendly bunch, and will be willing to help where and when we can. Sensations is a great bar, and well worth spending some time. To the best of my knowledge, the rooms are still a work in progress, and won't be open until around September. Scott comes on the forum from time to time, so perhaps he can confirm this, but for now I would suggest you try booking somewhere else, incase the rooms aren't ready for when you visit. Hope you enjoy your trip, and don't be afraid to tell us how you got on. There are some right nosy bastards on here.
  21. Like WTP I am totally addicted to YouTube. I can spend hours watching clips of Zidane, Maradonna, Messi, et al, at their magnificent best! I would also log on to the news channels quite a bit - MSN is good for the comments on various news articles, some total numpties out there, with their half ass comments, but good for entertainment. Other than that I would also go on Google Maps/Street View from time to time, just for mere nerdy interest sake at various places of interest around the world.
  22. Couldn't agree more mate. I spent almost every afternoon last trip at the Hideaway, having a few very nice and very reasonably priced Americano's, and the odd Schweppes Minau to cool me down. So I wasn't spending a fortune, but the owner was most grateful for my repeat business daily, and the staff were some of the most courtious I have encountered in a long time (not to mention one or two of them are quite hot).
  23. Do you need an accomplice??
  24. Without wanting to blow too much sunshine up you arse brother 360, for fear you will never let me forget it; you are a damn nice guy. Generous, caring, fun loving and an all round nice guy. Add the fact you live there, and the LB's look at you as a potential long term boyfriend, repeat customer, or maybe more. So jealousy has taken hold, because as you say, a natural girl has something they will never have - that is, she is something they have strived their entire lives to be. Many LB's will fancy their chances stealing you away from another LB, but not so much with a GG. I remember a BM here who used to live above La Bamba, when he took a LB from another bar back to his room, there were no issues. But Nok used to go mad when he brought back a GG. Go figure.
