  1. When I see O'Bamba Bar, I can't help thinking Obama Bar. Will the girls be painting their tools green?
  2. Welcome to the Forum Carlangas! Please check the link you posted as it doesn't seem to work.
  3. Celebrity Six Degrees. Donald Tump to Pancho Villa 5 degrees Pancho wouldn't pay for that fucking wall either! btw, I'm 2 degrees from Hillary Clinton.
  4. As I recall we were drinking there well after 4 AM Duke! Seems extreme to shut down a sports bar IMO. Wonder what time bars are permitted to open in the morning? What's the name of the sports bar more or less across the soi that has 45 baht beer?
  5. Two players go on a hot new game show called “Higher Number Wins.” The two go into separate booths, and each presses a button, and a random number between zero and one appears on a screen. (At this point, neither knows the other’s number, but they do know the numbers are chosen from a standard uniform distribution.) They can choose to keep that first number, or to press the button again to discard the first number and get a second random number, which they must keep. Then, they come out of their booths and see the final number for each player on the wall. The lavish grand prize — a case full of gold bullion — is awarded to the player who kept the higher number. Which number is the optimal cutoff for players to discard their first number and choose another? Put another way, within which range should they choose to keep the first number, and within which range should they reject it and try their luck with a second number?
  6. She's leaning on the wall of the parking lot that cuts through to Soi Lucky Star.

  8. Interesting tale Ken! I reckon hardly anyone in the backpacker district is looking for ladyboys so her whole MO is to get money up front from guys and then split?
  9. It pays for all night passion with a beautiful Thai ladyboy!
  10. Bernie took Pattaya with 58% of the vote. It wasn't the Under 30 crowd. There were no establishment party shills with walking around money bringing out votes for the Clinton machine. It was just the people. Bangkok results: Bernie 59.4% HRC 39.9% Uncommitted 0.7% You can still vote: Central Bangkok March 4, from 10:30 am to 7 pm – Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand, Maneeya Plaza Building (Penthouse Floor), 518/5 Ploenchit Road, Bangkok March 5, from 11 am to 6:30 pm – Roadhouse Barbecue, 942/1 Rama IV Road, Surawongse, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500 Chiang Mai and the North March 5, from 10 am to 4 pm – Payap University, Sirindhorn Learning Resource Center, Mae Khao Campus, Chiang Mai-Lampang Highway, Muang district, Chiang Mai Democracy in action in Thailand! This is the first time I used a ballot box instead of a voting machine. This is the first time that I was drinking beer at a polling place. First time I heard Rolling Stones tunes being played at a polling site. Some pics of the day:
  11. Would love to hear about your escapades Arch! Here's another Lita Girl:
  12. Great question. My decision to move to Thailand had nothing to do with Yank politics. But I think for most expats their first love is their home country even if they have chosen to live elsewhere. I've always been interested in politics so it's natural for me to continue to follow USA politics. 2016 is the most interesting election cycle ever. But the truth is that it probably won't affect my life much no matter who the is elected as the next POTUS. On the broader question of Democrats Abroad, I would imagine that the expats who live in Germany are quite different than those in Thailand or the Philippines. Democrats Abroad is an advocacy group for expats. If there were a Republicans Abroad, I would imagine that they'd have an identical position on these issues.
  13. First returns from the Democrats Abroad Global Primary are in and Tokyo is Feeling The Bern! The Tuesday night turnout at the Tokyo voting center was pretty good, with 94 votes cast for Sanders and 14 for Clinton. There are still 2 more days to vote in Tokyo (Saturday and next Tuesday) as well as polling locations in Osaka and Nagoya, plus remote ballots that still need to get counted. The official results won't be announced until the 21st but it looks real good for Bernie so far. Overall there are 21 delegates sent to the convention from Democrats Abroad (13 Pledged and 8 Super Delegates) so while there isn't a large number of delegates awarded from contest like these, every one is important in this primary battle. https://www.reddit.com/r/SandersForPresident/comments/48goi6/initial_ballot_count_for_democrats_abroad_japan/ Between Japan and New Zealand, Hillary only got 14.8% of the vote so far.
  14. You can register at the polling place but must bring your passport. It's really meant for expats, not for guys on vacation, but I don't think they are looking to turn people away. Passport is required though. I will be checking the box for Bernie at Beertopia here in Pattaya On March 3rd in the Global Democratic Primary. 15. Welcome Duangjai Bar! Farang want to meet the ladyboys of Duangjai Bar! โชคดี
  16. Outstanding party last night! Lovely ladies, good food, cold beer, and great tunes!
  17. I agree. I usually don't want to be approached. I figure a girl is trying to earn a living so I'm not doing her any favors chatting to her if I know there's zero chance that I will be barfining or buying a ladydrink. So I avoid eye contact or position my body so it's difficult to get approached. Some guys will complain that they're getting ignored in a bar. As you say, they might be unconsciously doing things that ladyboys pick up as a signal they don't want to be approached. My better half interprets not smiling as being rude. I try to explain to her that some guys just don't smile that much and it has nothing to do with her. There are a few ladyboys who I know well who make an effort to be nice to me and give me a warm hello and maybe a minute of friendly chit chat even though they know by now that no barfine or drink will be forthcoming. I like that. It relaxes me and makes me feel like a valued customer of the bar. If I hear that guys give them good reviews in the room, then I try to help them out these ladyboys and recommend them to my mates.
  18. Tonight's the big night! Studio 131, Leap Day, Sadie Hawkins Day. The one night every four years where ladyboys can pick the man of their choice for anal sex whether you want it or not. Be careful on the dance floor!

  20. Correctomundo! Given how the other passengers are choosing their seats, you have a 50 percent chance of finding your assigned seat empty. The solution may seem counterintuitive — at first glance it seems like there will be a growing wave of wrong-seat-sitters, mayhem will ensue, fights will break out, and the odds that you get your assigned seat will plummet. But really, there are only two seat assignments you care about: yours and the one meant for the world’s worst passenger, the guy who boards first. These are the only two seats that can be the final unoccupied seat. This can be proven by contradiction: If the seat belonging to the Nth passenger (where N isn’t you or the first passenger) is the final open seat, then it was also open when the Nth passenger boarded, and she would’ve taken it then, so it can’t be the final open seat. Q.E.D. The two potential final seats — your and the first guy’s — are otherwise identical, so when you board, there’s a 50-50 chance yours is the one open at the end. Another tack is a sort-of induction argument, starting with a smaller plane and seeing what happens to the solution when it gets larger. Imagine the plane has just two seats. The world’s worst person will clearly take your seat half the time, leaving you with your assigned seat half the time. Now imagine the plane has three seats. The world’s worst person will take your seat a third of the time. Another third of the time he’ll take the other passenger’s seat, in which case that other passenger will take your seat half the time. Your seat is taken ⅓+(⅓*½)=½ the time. Again, you get your assigned seat half the time. And so on and so forth. The answer is 50 percent regardless of how large the plane is.
