  1. There are reports that 7/11 will be opening in Phnom Penh in 2021. Name the other 18 countries where 7/11 operates. Unlike other questions in this quiz, this one is a group effort so post the countries where you know 7/11 operates. No googling!
  2. I remember hearing of Bobo before Venus Flytap but I've never "partied"with her. The most famous Venus Flytrap member was Bell though she wasn't an original member. Bell had a major role in the film, It Gets Better.
  3. You nailed it! Most of us want to make people happy. Even incredibly nasty people have the capacity for kindness. Many of us want to solve people's specific problems. It could be a collapsed roof, a dead motobike, or a sick buffalo. It feels good to be a saviour. It's a win-win. Also within our DNA men want to protect damsels in distress. But the kindness can transcend the sexual dynamics. Two different friends of mine paid for significant home repairs for people in situations where there was no romantic involvement whatsoever. When we give from a place of kindness it feels incredibly good. That's so much different than giving out of obligation.
  4. Enforcement of prohibited conduct varies greatly within Thailand. A Frenchman was fined 50K baht for talking to friends on the Beach Road Promenade. Elsewhere people were required to do 20 pushups or jumping jacks fro not wearing a mask while riding a motobike. The lack of a helmet did not seem to be a concern.
  5. Starting Saturday, May 9th you can officially walk on the Beach Road promenade although people are doing so already. Eating, drinking, and socializing on the promenade is prohibited. Also prohibited is swimming, walking, or laying on the beach in Pattaya, Jomtien, and Naklua although some are doing so. One of the rationales for the beach closure is to discourage inter-provincial travel to use the beach. Restaurants are opening but booze not permitted to be served. Restaurants are asked to arrange seating so that there is proper social distancing. Some are speculating that bars could possibly open in June. Beer can be bought at convenience stores between 11:00AM-2:00PM and 6:00PM-10:00PM. The curfew is still in effect from 10PM-4AM. Pattaya has gone 3 weeks without a new confirmed case of COVID-19 albeit with limited testing.
  6. Yesterday was the first day in three weeks that stores could legally sell beer in Thailand. So getting beer got a bit aggressive at this Makro.
  7. It seems that Steady Eddy's Vietnam Bar Girls and Barfine Prices is an excellent introduction to the Saigon P4P scene. It covers all the basics for a guy going to Saigon for the first time. Of course as you get to know a city/country better you will monger in a way that gives you more value for money.
  8. Nope, Pussy Cat Club is quite a bit away on the other side of Sukhumvit. I think the pic below is what you are thinking of SP:

    Ernesto

I guess that's what makes Ernesto unique and so special. He takes the road less travelled. I don't know anyone else who went to Borneo hunting for ladyboys! And a very warm welcome to The-Sith!
  10. The Pussy Cat Club on the Darkside of Pattaya was busted yesterday.

    Airline News

Travellers landing at Phitsanulok, Buri Ram, Krabi, Trang, and Nakhon Phanom airports will be quarantined.
  12. In order to leave Phuket by car you must now present a "fit to travel" certificate. Hotels are closed yet you can't leave. The Eagles were prophetic.
  13. In the Philippines, many prisoners are being released as there are COVID-19 outbreaks in the jails and there is no way to social distance as you can see in the pic below.
  14. Some great pics here Snoop but I especially like this one!

    Free Phone Calls

In my case too it doesn't matter as on my primary phone I have this special super duper plan that for 200 a month, I get unlimited internet at 10 Mbs speed plus unlimited fee calls as long as the call is less than 15 minutes (this extraordinary plan is no longer available). I can hang up after 14 minutes and call back. But I just activated the free minutes on my old Cheap Charlie Nokia which I sometimes carry around if I know I won't need my smartphone. What worked for me is typing my old 9 digit American passport number as a text message (since I registered that Sim with my old passport). Then I pressed Send and it prompted me to type in the number that I want the message sent to so I typed in 170. I got a message that my text was received and they would verify and send me confirmation in 3 hours but 20 minutes later I received the verification.
  16. For Youtube videos, on my laptop, I click on the Share button beneath the video and then copy the URL (not the embed code) that appears. Then I paste it into LBR which is configured so that it automatically embeds the video.
  17. From the above article: This is a big move: How about this number

    Free Phone Calls

Then use the missus Thai ID number. *170*missusID#
  19. There was a crime scene re-enactment. Here is where the perp met the lady. Looks like Treetown.

    Free Phone Calls

All carriers are offering 100 minutes of phone calls to Thais but at this time only AIS is giving it to farang. The procedure is different for Thais and farang. For Thais dial *170*your 13 digit ID number # For farang, send a SMS, just your passport number associated with your number (could possibly be an expired passport) to 170
  21. Opens up with a shout out to Harry's which has 10 baht croissants after 5PM. You also get to see a great of shot of Delirious Bar's new Whiskey sign!
  22. Good luck finding girls with ripped denim shorts there! Or at least girls with ripped denim shorts that want me or you!
  23. On Wednesday night, a man from Northern Ireland picked up a lady on Soi Buakhao, had a night of yaba fueled sex, and in the morning murdered her with a pool cue and machete. Her corpse was found in his hong nam. You can google for the story. Initial reports have the man being from Iceland.
  24. The booze ban has been extended until the end of May. It doesn't negatively affect me as I rarely drink except in bars. I suppose the reasoning is that people are less likely to socialize without booze and wiping out CV trumps a man's right to drink. But I suppose if people are only getting 5000 a month there isn't much money leftover in the budget for beer. In addition to the 5 grand, Thais can get 100 minutes of free phone calls on all major carriers by dialing *170*&&&&&&&&&&&&&#. with the &&&&&&&&&&&&& representing one's 13 digit Thai ID number. Americans would be going nuts if they weren't allowed to drink at home. How about in your country? Would it cause rioting in the streets? Would people be fighting for their right to party?
