  1. A European friend received a similar email and when he opens his Wise app he sees a similar warning. Using my laptop, I see no such warning on Wise and did not receive an email. Perhaps because I'm American. For those coming to Thailand this year, perhaps do a Wise transfer this month. Btw, bringing Scando cash will get you a horrible rate at exchange booths. If you must bring cash the tightest Buy-Sell spread for cash is USD 100 dollar bills. Euro has a decent spread. Bottom line, exchange Scando currencies for dollars or Euros at home. The tightest spreads and best cash arte by far is at the main branch of Super Rich Thailand (green) in Bangkok. Spread percentage for USD is about 0.15% which is extremely good. For Euros about 0.3% which is also quite good, for SEK a whopping 27%. Swedes, Norwegians, and Danes should not bring paper money to Thailand. Exchange rates in Pattaya are even worse. I did receive an email about a month ago that fees for USD transactions will increase on September 27th so Yanks may want to send money before that date.
  2. Wednesday nights are always fun at Delirious! After 1AM the girls were dancing and having simulated sex on the pool table!
  3. I go to Doctor Bee (Dental Ideas) due to donnykey's recommendation and am quite pleased. IMO she's a top notch dentist. Her rates are probably double the numerous clinics on Pattaya Tai near Tuk Com though.
  4. We're increasing our fees for international USD transfers. Sending USD to accounts outside of the US? You may be affected by some fee changes. Why are they changing? We’re constantly reviewing our fees to make sure we’re offering you the fairest deal possible. So when our costs go down, our fees do too. But the reverse is also true. And because our operational costs to send USD internationally have increased, so have our fees. We’ll be updating our fees on 27 September 2023. We know it’s not the best news, but we’re working on ways to improve this.
  5. Howdy Dick, welcome to LBR! Katoeys R Us is not a mixed bar but Benz at KRU is a ladyboy who will do threesomes with ladies and ladyboys so perhaps she can arrange it for you. http://www.ladyboyreview.com/index.php?/topic/6652-katoeys-r-us-new-lb-bar-on-soi-diamond-off-walking-street/&do=findComment&comment=231611&_rid=7348
  6. Not a mercy like by any means. Even though she's not my type, you're like Ernesto reporting from a place so far off our beaten track. If she's a nice person then goforit as long as Madagascar doesn't have repressive same sex laws. Perhaps she's even heard of you and surprise you with the greeting, "Dr Romingstone I presume; voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir"
  7. Warm Up Bar is on Soi Boomerang, a small L shaped soi where the 2nd incarnation of Baby Boom was located, and now is filled with Gentleman's Clubs. It's owned by Andy, a nice guy who runs the Hideaway which is a popular eatery and guesthouse. I'm not in Pattaya very often but when I walk by it looks like more ladyboys than GGs.
  8. Yes but their 99 baht bottled beer is priced lower than probably any other Pattaya gogo excluding some happy hour specials.
  9. The singer Oliver Anthony, whose song “Rich Men North of Richmond” has soared to the top of the Billboard singles chart, released a YouTube video on Friday denouncing Republicans and conservative outlets for co-opting his song. “It was funny seeing that presidential debate,” Anthony said. “I wrote that song about those people.” A clip of Anthony performing was played by Fox News moderators at the start of the Republican presidential debate on Wednesday night in Milwaukee, after a series of videos of Americans lamenting conditions under President Biden, including inflation and homelessness. Anthony said Friday it “cracks me up” that the candidates had been forced to listen to his song onstage, because he was singing about powerful people like them.

Bob Barker, host of Truth or Consequences and The Price Is Right. Come on down! RIP
  11. Dan, I don't know Jeley's whereabouts these days but hear she has a great ass!
  12. Sometimes the initial price for Holidays Home is just 399 baht on Agoda. It is conveniently located across from the Mosaik in the Day/Night area less than one minute from the backdoor of Tuk Com. The main drawback is no pool. If that's not a concern it's a good choice. A friend stayed there and liked it. Holidays Home On Agoda Holidays Home
  13. After a long time, 7/11 stamps are back!
  14. For Pattaya and Bangkok just add 17.7%. But I agree irritating, especially because their algorithm probably starts with the final price and backs into the seemingly lower price.
  15. I find that the price of the really good deals jump around significantly even within the same day. Right now for me using random dates it is showing as 645 but possibly it will be different in a few hours or a few days. But 13 hours ago it defo was showing 399 for me. The final price for Pattaya hotels on Agoda increase by 17.7% when you go to pay though making the final price approx 470 baht if the 399 reappears. Tycoon on Agoda
  16. During Covid there were some really great hotels deals which are mostly gone. Right now one of the few good deals left for a decent place under 500 baht is the Tycoon Tycoon It's about a minute walk down a quiet soi off Pattaya Tai. It's on the good side of 3rd Road, a short walk to Soi Buakhao. I used to be a long term tenant. The Tycoon is usually listed on Agoda for 399 baht. Tycoon on Agoda
  17. I'm not even sure where to begin so will just mention a few unrelated points. Some planning ideas: Find out what the bar scene is like in the city that you'll be visiting. Find out which dating apps are most popular in the country you will be going to. Find out what the street scene is like. Find out what the massage scene is like. Find out where ladyboys congregate such as morlams, all night beach volleyball etc. See if you can find some other mongers to show you the ropes. If you find a girl that you figure you'll want to see again then make sure to get her phone number or Line ID. OTOH, if you doubt that you will want to see her again don't swap contact info as repeated texts from someone you don't want to see cn be annoying. Depending on your budget and streetwise social skills figure out some ways that might work for you. In Pattaya, the easiest but perhaps not the cheapest path is the bar scene. If paying double means an extra 1000 baht then that might be a meaningless amount to some guys but quite significant to others.
  18. Things end badly for tourists who start a scene with bouncers at Matador Bar.

Amos Badertscher, a self-taught photographer whose stark, powerful and sometimes erotic images of hustlers, prostitutes and drag queens in Baltimore reflected his empathy for people living on the fringes of the city, died on July 24 in Baltimore. He was 86. Mr. Badertscher’s death, at a rehabilitation facility, came after he broke his arm in a fall in his backyard, said Bill Badertscher, his adopted son, former companion and only immediate survivor. Before his fall, Mr. Baderstcher (pronounced bah-DER-cher) had been expected to attend a retrospective of about 200 of his photos at the Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, which is to open on Aug. 30. “He lived on the first floor of a rowhouse, completely surrounded by his photographs,” Beth Saunders, who curated the University of Maryland show, said in a phone interview. “You’d walk with him and stop as he pointed out a photograph, and he’d tell you stories about it. He’d move them around so every time I went there, they’d be in different places.” Another show, at the Clamp gallery in Manhattan, is to open in September. “He was documenting the underground culture of Baltimore, more specifically, the L.G.B.T.Q. culture, which was regarded by most as seedy and unsavory,” said Brian Paul Clamp, the gallery’s owner. “But he was genuinely interested in these people. He had a real personal connection with these people. His life was entwined with theirs.” Mr. Badertscher, who was gay, found his models on the streets, in clubs and in gay bars. He was most intrigued by the young men who often posed nude in his studio for him. “There must have been something dangerously lacking in my upper-middle class psyche because I did not find nudity, even youthful male nudity, shocking, abusive, emasculating, pornographic or subversive,” Mr. Badertscher said in the catalog for his one-man show at the Duke University Museum of Art in 1995. “To photograph the naked body is for me the ultimate dimension in photographing the person.”
  20. When I first came to Thailand this was the case most of the time. But nowadays more often than not, only staff gets a drink. It depends on the bar.
