  1. Thanks WR. Not sure where my next stop will be, but, yeah, I really should check out more of Guatemala :) The beer can be cheaper here, as low as $1.05 for one liter of Brava beer- that's from the store of course :) Yeah, there was a Thai restaurant in Antigua :)
  2. Hi Mr. B! You are always a diplomat but I think the maidens of Mouth Moy bar miss my money more, 555! A femme boy in short shorts and a hoodie called out to me the other night, but their were too many local hombres around. Nah... At least the lake is pretty :)
  3. Didn't notice any LBs in Antigua. I'm told there are some ladies available just outside of town, but I didn't partake...
  4. The enemy of my enemy is my friend... Good story C, thanks for sharing.
  5. I decided that I wanted to travel more, so I hopped on the Big Iron Bird- and landed in Guatemala! One night in Guatemala City, then off to Antigua. Scenic former Spanish colonial town complete with a supposedly still active volcano in the neighborhood. The 'Bus Station' where recycled US school busses have a second life.
  6. And I haven't even made it down to 6th street yet :)
  7. ^ Yeah and more expensive as well...

    Austin

I'm checking out Austin TX now and went to some gay bars down town on 4th st. . Not really my thing but a buddy dragged me there and thought it was a hoot that a drag queen hit on me, 555! (He told her I was recently returned from Thailand) It was a weekday night, so it was slow but there might be a few ladyboys around 6th st where the college kids go. But pretty lame after Thailand and the Phils...
  9. As I recall, the USD strengthened to a peak of 57 baht/$1 during the 97 crash.
  10. Bingo! I figure that the cops knew who did it, that's why they weren't interested in a reward. Why accept 10k when you can have a free CBR250 or Kawasaki Ninja? Shaking down the thieves for a few big bikes in exchange for permission to operate in a police district, pretty common actually. The Thai cops know their districts pretty well and the locals are always observing each other and gossiping. Som chai doesn't work, but he always has plenty of money. Hmmmm I'm seeing more cops ridding around on larger bikes and I doubt they paid for them. I finally had the realization that I can live anywhere and I decided to sky up :)
  11. Beats me but I have a few theories: 1 To my ear some Thai guys have a bit of a nasal accent, so its a carry over for many ladyboys. 2 Some ladyboys are loud and its easier to make yourself heard if you have more of a 'duck' voice than a softer feminine voice.
  12. Will they take the report in London? My bike, a CBR250 and another tenants Ninja250, were stolen at 0230 and we went to the police station at 0800. The cops refused to take the report. Went back the same day with a CCTV video of the theft and some good facial shots of some of the thieves. The cops took the report but said the video was 'not clear.' I contacted the local English rags but they wouldn't touch it because they are afraid of the police. I'll take my chances with the cops back home any day. PS- The Ninja owner and I each offered a 10,000 baht 'finder's fee' when we got our bikes back. Thailand is great- until you have a problem. Then you are on your lonesome.
  13. Yeah, she's a nice girl. Good ass, good kisser and funny.
  14. ^ My salvation in CM was making motorcycle trips; I had a blast ridding around Thailand. For guys that enjoy the 24/7 excitement of Pattaya, then Chiang Mai would be a disappointment for sure :)
  15. Thailand is great- until you have a problem... Your motorbike gets stolen, you report to the police and they laugh at you. Stopped at a red light and a drunk Thai crashes in to you; guess who is at fault? Never mind, tourist continue to visit and the Thais continue to rip them off at every opportunity. Where is the incentive to improve?
  16. I'm with you. Some of the sweetest ladyboys work in bars mostly staffed by girls.
  17. I hear ya Buddy. Most of the Ruskies I've observed are pretty self-absorbed, no one else exists. The women are beautiful, but they are the most dour, rude and ill mannered people it has been my misfortune to be around. Besides that they are swell :)
  18. She used to call herself Mon
  19. Made my first visit to 69Bar a couple of nights ago. Spike and Ying are great hosts and they have some nice talent working there. Will go again :)
  20. $1,500 USD x 44 = about 66,000 Philippine pesos per month. That's a middle class income; you will be fine :)
  21. I have gone native :) I am always observing the Thais and listening to them talk among themselves- and seldom are they direct when there is a possibility of giving offence. I try to tell them no and get them to laugh at the same time :)
  22. I just typed the address in my post above, but it didn't show up as a link... http://milevalue.com/
  23. Translation: I don't have a heart; I have a battery (I'm a robot) OR Forget it honey, your tales/charms won't work on me :)
  24. I tell them "Mai mee jai. Mee batt ter ee!" That makes 'em blink their pretty little eyes, 555! Its all a big game and Lance tries to stay one move ahead :)
