  1. i did try to look it up in my English Dictionary QG... but it wasn't there. But the great thing is... very near to where it should have appeared was... GRUNT!
  2. i dunno about the karaoke Seven, although i confess that i have seen him in action. fortunately briefly. i actually think that he goes for the highbrow conversations with Quinn. I recall Emmy's opening party when they happily spent an hour discussing Othello and Desdemona. It was like listening to Bamber Gascoigne and Stephen Fry. I could have managed Bonnie and Clyde but O and D was a bit above me. " hey, Quinn buddy, when you read Othello did you find it to be almost grubernatorial?" "Aye tha's reet P.D, i think. One of the most grubered plays wot i have read" " sure buddy, I can almost believe that Desdemona was the 17th century version of Lisa from Pinkcrack" " Really P.D? do you mean that she had 34" boobs, or was good at miming on stage?" "Tell you what Quinn, i'll go and get us our fifteenth helping of food , then we'll carry on with this highbrow discussion.. but, anyway, why are Grunts ears bleeding?"
  3. Jomty isn't so bad really. beach road can be a bit iffy at times of course. Usually with the speakers in the back of pick-up trucks idiocy. Other usual thing of course is bars deciding to outdo each other with music volume. Same as all over Thailand really. I'll never get used to it, so try to keep away from it all. Wouldn't mind too much really if the music was actually decent... PD must love it!
  4. thank god! will that mean an end soon to those loudspeaker vans that patrol along beach road all day blasting out nonsense? never mind the displayed photo's of candidates that non of which anyone in their right mind would vote for. gubernatorial heh? Quinn, you go to quiz nights... what's he talking about?
  5. didn't know there was a return Seven, what is the full title? yup, love it, sometimes i forget who was related to who, so have to check it out
  6. talking about Twin Peaks, Rom. He won't tell you due to modesty, but Pdoggg actually played the part of Deputy Andy
  7. true Rom. Magnificent indeed. I'm now on the fifth time of watching the whole series. Lost: sort of lost the plot along the way, it seemed to get it's head stuck up it's arse after the 3rd or 4th season, which was a shame. Evangeline Lilly should have been in G.O.T too. We might have seen her tits. Twin Peaks, old but way,way ahead of it's time. one day maybe someone will explain the end to me. I never got it despite multiple viewings, not sure it matters though. David Lynch was a master.
  8. well... if anyone never believed that Jomty is just an old-folks home...they will after seeing that video..
  9. 69 bar is very easy to miss Dan, being as it's now just a pile of rubble. long gone.
  10. Darn Tootin' ! sorry but i'm booked in for my 8th booster shot that day... Quinn... who is Justin Beerbar? Seriously i have never heard of him! and i feel it may be a mistake to google..
  11. fuck me! you got any skin left on your arm?...
  12. oh come on! i've known the cowpoke a long time... but besides that, i did visit Cheap Charlies this afternoon. Fish, chips and peas... culinary observation... Chips were fine, as far as chips in Thailand go, i have had much worse. Thai potatoes are not the best for frying, and, thank god they were proper chips, not those so-called chips that are actually called 'wedgies' or something like. Those awful things with the potato skin not removed. So, happy with what was served on the chips scene.. Mushy peas... fine, very good, except the quantity? dear me, a tablespoon full. quality good but the quantity!!!! Fish, whatever kind it was... badly under-cooked, a couple more minutes would have been much better. It was watery in parts. Batter was excellent. advertised tartare sauce didn't arrive but no problem there for me, it just makes the meal look as though someone has jerked off on your plate... It wasn't the daily special. Cost 199 baht with a cup of tea.
  13. ah yes.... you know that i never know what day it is Quinn!
  14. Sensations has been forgettable for a few years Woodie. You are right about TJs too. However it is very early days after all the lockdowns and what have you, when are things going to get back to how they were? not for a while yet.
  15. must admit i went along last night to get something to eat but all the people on the rail [it was packed] for some reason i can't explain put me off going in. Sort of claustrophobic i guess. Hopefully though Cheap Charlies may wake up soi 5 a bit.
  16. i once had a coffee at Hideaway only to find the gormless face of Kev in Thailand on the mug. First and last.
  17. Welcome to the Emmy Bar club BM Dan Miller. thanks for joining
  18. Dear me Seven! You should never have written that in that way... You should have written like this... Our very good friend PD has in all honesty TERRIBLE MUSIC taste. Come on Seven.. .get with it....
  19. mystery solved. yes Ballermans.. i saw Mona and another Katty girl sitting in there chatting over a drink, they weren't working or even on the pull, simply having a drink on their way to work in the Katty. I said hello .bought them a drink and got charged LDs prices. first time, last time.
  20. looks like the old Simple Simon's place. or maybe ballermans. next door to each other.
  21. actually you are correct Cowpoke. there aren't that many decent priced places here nowadays. But,the English breakfast thing doesn't interest me too much, i have one every 2-3 weeks perhaps. Fave place at the moment is 'Moonshine' next door to the old Katty Bar on soi 4 Jomty. They do an American breakfast, which is much more to my liking.. crispy bacon etc. Anyway I'm much more of a Weetabix/.bananas man for breakfast nowadays. looking forwards to Cheap Charlies opening i must say. Just for the ease of getting a full meal sometimes, without having to go into Pattaya, which is still a bit difficult. Quinn, where is it going to be? Single unit on the block before Roadhouse or the Old Bannermans/Ballermans?
  22. yes, i remember that night. It reminded me that i needed to buy some eggs on the way home.
  23. now you see why the booster bros can't be judges! Seven.. get over here, you too Jimmy Cargopants ! me and Quinn need you quick...
  24. Yes Emmy, quite a prestigious award that one. A bit of a surprise from Rom. Different. I have been inspired! No one will probably ever match the Romscar's of course. And i would be the first to admit that people like Rom know far more about LBs than i do. So, and certainly not competing with Rom in any way, shape or form... I announce the new "Annabelle' ** awards! yes! This award will be for bar music, not LBs. i.e good music played in a bar. The judges will be Quinn and myself. No way are we letting PD or Quietguy [The Booster Brothers] anywhere near. Seven can be a guest judge when he gets over if he wants. At the moment Emmy you and Delirious seem to be making the running. It's early days still, but here's a tip Emmy, any bar that plays Rhinestone feckin' Cowboy or Country feckin' Roads faces automatic points deduction. Well, if myself or Quinn are in the bar anyway. So good luck with the Annabelle award Emmy. Of course we have no idea yet who will win... hopefully Anna b herself will get over here to present the award to whoever wins later this year. Bumblebee, get off your arse and get over to Peterboro' to arrange matters with her... Take your camera too. If you pay her flight, i'll arrange free lodgings for her... ** ...ah! Annabelle...who that was there will ever forget? I can't... first time i ever saw 7 pockets on a pool table.
