Agree, the prospect of getting old has never seemed alluring and now that I am getting closer, it seems even less appealing. Probably the easiest visa place on the land borders - albeit flying is a pain as Mukdahn has no airport and Sawanaket is expensive to fly to. Best option is VIP overnight bus at circa 650b o/w to Mukdahan then Tuk Tuk from the bus station to the Casino office @ the bridge (you must tell them you want casino office in MUKDAHAN - otherwise they will try and drive you to the casino @ 1,500b rather than the 100b to the office before the border. Jump into the minibus through Thai Immigration and onto Laos immigration. Pay 1500b or lower in US dollars if you have any for the Laos visa. You will be checking into the hotel some 10 minutes later. Downside is you may struggle to find much talent in Sawanaket - its a pretty sleepy town. Casino is good fun though. Edit - I have never crossed a land border before and it was devoid of people, trucks or anything. Maybe just struck lucky but had visions of chaos - there was none of that whatsoever. All very civilised - especially with the casino transfers probably greasing a few palms at the various checkpoints. Did not even notice anything remotely like a customs officer/desk

I need to make a visa run this week. I have done 2, 15 day extensions and now I think I have to fly out for a 30 day extension if I am correct. I will do some more research on the subject. Assuming I have to do this run, before Friday, I would love to hear what are some good affordable options from you guys that know. Not really sure if I have to fly, since I did this a few months back and it was a bus ride out of Patts to vientiane. Had an amazing time with a nice LB, but no name, no number. It actually very well may have sucked, I don't remember much from the drunkeness and assume it was good. Hopefully this time I can keep it together. So looking to save some baht! It's 9000 for a visa run service, but I can get a round trip flight for 3500 baht. Throw in a 1000 baht for hotel and 1900 for visa and I save 2000 for the do-it-yourself factor. That = (in my wacky way of thinking) 3 ladyboys at 700 baht each in my room for a big sword fight. This isn't even factoring the not sitting on a bus for 12 hours! Any other suggestion?

This just happened to me again today. I hate when I get on an elevator and some other nitwit insists on having a stupid conversation with me about nothing. I fucking HATE it. As such I always try to book lower level hotel floors so I don't have to climb 20 floors and get drawn into their mindless vortex banter of nothing. Something about being in a confined space with someone you don't want to talk to especially if you're not interested in sucking their cock.

I sort of look at it as the same as people who buy timeshare condos...you can claim the condo for yourself for the two weeks you are in Hawaii, and you know whenever you go back to Hawaii, you will get the same unit, with its concomitant characteristics. I remember my granddad and grandmother used to the go to the same hotel every year and the same suite to celebrate their nuptials. Why? They had good memories of the experience and wanted to make more, however, they could not guarantee the room wouldn't be booked when they wanted to go. However, a timeshare solves this problem. I think a working ladyboy gf is simply a timeshare relationship, I get my two weeks guaranteed. What I have discovered is timeshares are usually more expensive than simply renting the condo next door for the week. However, I can't always guarantee I will get the condo. So, It appears to me if a guy claims a LB working girl as his gf, he is simply saying that when I'm in town, we spend time together and she has agreed to spend her time with me. And he is agreeing to pay for that luxury and guarantee. Anyway, i'm very loosey goosey on my terminology...so any girl I'm not paying for is my girlfriend, if only for a one night stand...lol. Ina's has been defunct for a few years now, pity it was a ok crowd with a good representation of asian girls. There are "parties" that feature available, for an hour or so, girls most weeknights at several bars, heavy commercial atmosphere & NYC prices. Lots of loud hiphop music & silicone, not my scene, but there may be some decent girls here & there now & then. I haven't been in years, but the last time I did go I ended up with quite a nice looking & relatively sane Brazilian girl, Hungangels usually lists the current parties, just bring lots of cash & they don't start until after 12 - 1 am.

Perhaps the cheapest is going to the other country by land and flying back so you get the 30 days. Or getting a 60 day tourist visa out of country but that requires waiting a few days in Cambodia, Laos, wherever.
