Last night on our national broadcaster, the ABC, I watched their science program 'Catalyst'. It reported on energy drinks such as Red Bull, Mother, V, etc & their effect on our health. They showed how these drinks can interfere with the electric impulses that regulate our heart. And they demonstrated how they thicken the blood making it more susceptible to clogging & sticking to our arteries. They cited several incidents where people have had a stroke or a heart attack directly caused by drinking too much of this stuff or drinking it too quickly. The names of several teenagers who died after skulling a couple of energy drinks were given but there are suspected to be more deaths attributable to the same behaviour. The program concluded that 1000's of people have had a serious reaction from drinking energy drinks. The danger comes from the guarana, the taurine & all the other chemicals added to the drink. Plus the artificial sweeteners. No one knows how they interact & when alcohol is added, the problem becomes worse. Guarana is very high in caffeine making each drink the equivalent of drinking 5 or more coffees. Drinking half a dozen Red Bulls or similar in one session places an enormous strain on the heart. The program demonstrated how the heart will stop "bouncing" back into position after each pump as quickly as it should. It is only a few milliseconds but it can start arrhythmia which leads to cardiac arrest. Being the ABC they were very careful against calling for anything to be banned but after watching the program, I wouldn't touch the stuff if you paid me.

Don't you get a lot of these in Thailand too? I am sure that there are lots of ladyboys in this stage before they take the next step. I have seen a lot in some cafe's and even shops too in Bangkok in this stage. I will try and get some pics next time if I can. But they are not dressed as girls but in unisex clothing but by looking at them you know they have applied a bit of make up too and look very pretty like girls.

Willie, the answer to your question is in your post. Any receipt that can be used to offset tax has a value. They won't offer you a receipt because they are hoping you will forget to ask for it. They then have an asset to sell. Years ago I worked with a Londoner who told me of his weekly round of restaurants he visited to pay them for any uncollected receipts. From memory he paid 10% of their value which he then onsold to salesmen & others who could claim them as entertainment expenses. Their company would reimburse them the full face value of the receipt. Fuel receipts are even better because they go straight to the Tax Office with no chance of a company accountant checking up on who was being entertained. A problem that occasionally occurred.

I was there around April this year and went to the show. It was really good and the LBs went down stairs and took pictures with the guests. The place was huge and it was less than half full but a fairly decent crowd based on the numbers for such a show. I think the place itself was too big for such a big show. I may have some pics and would try and post here. Some of the dancing was very good and could not believe how feminine some them danced. I think a lot of them was either pre hormone or could be even drag queens that they dressed as boys during normal times. This is according to the guide who was with me.

You are correct Mr. DK. It was called Soi Xzyte because it came out on 3rd Road beside the now defunct Xzyte Disco/Club/whatever is was. Not sure what is is called now. It could be called Soi Bliss as when you get to the 3rd Road end if you cross 3rd Road you are at Bliss Lounge. The Bowling Green lawn bowl place on that soi claims to be on Soi Fuenga. But that is the only web hit I get on Soi Fuenga.

I thought Tong worked at Guess Bar, left there and went to work at Cascades and then on to the Darkside, unless Im thinking of the wrong Tong of course
