JustSumGai
one of my ladyboys told me it's Morlam month, then later she says maybe not, maybe end of Oct to December will be somber time. Anyone know anything about this? That's a long time to shut down things. And in Issan too? I dunno.
rxpharm
The King's cremation will be around mid October, so things will definitely be sombre until after the ceremony is done.
stoolpusher
Not that I will be in town then and no disrespect to the Royal Family but , How does that effect the night life manly in bkk ,if its anything like when the King past it will be slower than slow for the entertainment sector . JustSumGai
What Rx said. I'll be in Isan then, but the ladyboy that told me there might not be much party and Morlam is there. I'm hoping she's wrong.
cobber32
I was shown a post on the internet just now that says Thais should not wear bright coloured clothing from today (1 October), and even gave 25 colours that are acceptable. And of course from 13th to 27th October, black is the colour. Black may well reflect the entertainment sector here.
xyzzy
I've read some posts on other forums, some by bar owners, and they are expecting minimal closures. That doesn't mean it won't happen but that seems to be the sentiment. The natives took the original event MUCH better than someone like me who has been coming here for 11+ years ever thought possible. But at best it is a guessing game.
