It appeals to those who would like to have the same power and sexual availability over whomever they like, just like Conquistadors or colonial plantation owners did over natives and slaves. xyzzy Posted September 20, 2015 Share Posted September 20, 2015 In the beginning the first world countries were aligned with the US during the cold war. Second world countries were aligned with the USSR. And those that weren't aligned with either were called third world countries. As many third world countries were poor/backward/whatever the term morphed into a blanket description of poor countries. Then it became more politically correct to call them developing nations. Maybe the superior angle is correct.
