  1. Only 2 of those that I know of. Stoolpusher is no longer with us,(as noted), and Bumblebee is hard at work back in his homeland. For the others,I could not say.
  2. Made a couple of visits to Delirious. As good as ever with Herbert steering the ship. I must say Chaiyapoon seemed quite busy compared to other spots.
  3. I was fortunate enough to be in contact with those lovelies about 10 days ago. Great nights!. I honestly don't know how I missed not singling Jessie out. Unless she is just photogenic and appears better than in real life?. She is a stunner in the photos. May have been her that gave me a big smile when I walked in, but I made a beeline to my date. The lineup there is spectacular. Rainee I did not miss! Kate is almost too good. Like a model. Bowling I missed out on too. Som, fourth from the right in the purple dress photos is a sex bomb!. She was my parting shot on leaving BKK.
  4. Was a pleasant time catching up with Emmy, Teya and the girls on my trip. Like old times. John and Roger turned up which was good. I took along Dao as she had not seen Emmy for some time. A good night and one I am glad I made happen. Teya was pleasant company too!
  5. Dont really know why I am quoting prices as most of my jollies were with lb's I have known and did not charge as a normal transaction. From what I saw and heard, barfines were around 400-600. Beer 85 to 100. LD's up to 150. ST was around 1300 and LT around 2-2500. I can tell you right now that the lb's are not rolling in the hay. A bit slow is the word around town. Probably some bargains to be had unless the Thai logic kicks in and the girls want to charge more when times are tough!.
  6. Can someone please explain in plain English what Cosplay is???
  7. I am not aware of any that would scratch your eyes out, but then again I have not conversed with all of them. Maybe a majority, but thats all. Too busy buying drinks!.
  8. If you mean getting scammed by taxis as VN bashing. If warnings come from the hotel that I had booked and also the guy I shared the the taxi with well so be it. That was all I stated. Sorry if I did not follow up on the contacts you provided. My short stay did not allow much exploration. The hotel was fine as was its location.
  9. It was me, it was me!. Nothng wrong with Roger. It was the poser Rose who got my hackles up. Thank goodness she is no longer at CIB.
  10. Couldn't agree more Pdogg. I think you would need at least a week there to get your bearings. Mine was a very short visit, prompted by the cheapish airfare and the chance to visit another country. Having a good knowledge of how Thailand works it is a different world in Vietnam, or seems to be.
  11. I did not think that I had specified that it was a TR?. Only a brief remark re HCMC after the very short time I was there. The short time was as a result of me stuffing up the visa. Did not realize that I needed one!!!!. This led to a nervous few hours in BKK airport while one was produced. A great way for them to promote tourism and generate extra revenue. One could question why you needed one for a short visit. I ran into a young couple in the airport who had committed the same transgression. We had a laugh about it. I do thank you for your info that you supplied before my trip but after my very short visit I don't think I will be returning. Not many people like to get scammed by taxis etc.. I was fortunate enough to run into an English guy in the airport who had lived there and was returning for a short visit. We shared the taxi and all was good as he related a few stories about living in HCMC. Thank goodness for that!. I must say that the young guy at the hotel was fantastic. Full of info and the room although very small was adequate with the best bed I had slept in on my trip. Thai hotels take note!. Hey, I also liked the beer called Tiger Crystal. Very good.
  12. Have just returned from Thailand and stopped for only one night in HCMC Vietnam on the way home. Glad it was only one night. Not a lot going on in that city. I saw one lb on that night. She had just hopped onto her motorbike. We exchanged looks and then she was off. Too manly for me anyway. As far as Thailand goes, I would say very few lb's are making heaps. It is low season right now and they are struggling. The falangs are not out in force, nor are the Indians etc.. I think there was a bit of Thai logic going on, ie when times are tough put up the prices. They seem to think that does the trick. Funny that. In the lb bars I went to there was never more than about 4 or 5 punters and they did not hang around for long. The popular lb's make a bit but the others struggle. Unless the less popular lb's give up the battle and go home, thereby creating a supply and demand situation, prices will not go up. In Pattaya the going price seemed to be around 1300 -1500baht, and in BKK around 1600-2000, maybe a bit more for the hot ones. Be interesting to see what happens after Sept/October. Unless there is a sudden change, I cant see things being different anytime soon.
  13. Yep, there was one on my flight a couple of weeks ago. Very pleasant.
  14. Gina wins hands down, but her hair colour needs some attention!
  15. No, but a funny aside to that. In Rotorua there is a tourist spot that has trout pools. A guy I worked with went there and when no one was looking stabbed a rainbow trout with his umbrella tip. Brought it back with him and I cooked it!.
  16. Yes, very sad I had not watched his videos for some time. Not my cup of tea. But to hear of his girl passing away really hurt. Her path to the end was similar to Stoolpusher,(Brett), but a lot longer. Cancer is just a vicious disease and liver cancer is one of the really bad ones. As I was a long distance from Bretts last few days, it was sort of a remote feeling but none the less hurt just the same. Cobber 32 went through the process from a much closer distance which must have been even harder for him. Sometimes you just have to pause and be thankful that we are in the main, healthy and not going through what these people have done. Even though Brett's passing was some 19 months ago I am sure that when Cobber 32 and I meet again in a few weeks that we will remember Brett with a few drinks. I have said it before and will say it again. Brett's passing affected me like few others have.
  17. I have only been there during one Songkran. I thought it was ok apart from 1 lb who kept throwing large buckets of water at motorcyclists from about 2 meters. Nearly bowled a couple over. The lb was so drunk I could not make her see sense. They also kept pushing each other into a plastic pool with about 4 inches of water in it. Could have cracked their heads open. A photo of the day. This was at the place that used to be called Back packers something on Soi Bukhao, opposite the Hospital. My gf at the time is in the leopard skin dress
  18. Where I used to go there is no way you get there by car. Well not close anyway. We used to drive on the forestry tracks, through streams etc., park the car, get our gear, guns , tent etc and start walking. Probably about an hours walk and pitch camp. Now this is in the Whirinaki. A large tract of pristine bush between Rotorua and Hawkes Bay in NZ. In those days still a lot of deer despite helicopter hunters as the bush was very dense. (like me really). The bush was untouched, the streams just crystal clear. So clear that I found a good sized trout in a pool. Tried to shoot it, but trying to do that with the parallax is nearly impossible.
  19. The girls at Emmy's Bar??? They are as pure as the driven snow
  20. Things must have changed. Pre covid if I got the bus to Pattaya North there seemed to be no way of getting to my hotel. Well nothing that was sign posted etc. I ended up stopping a baht bus going past and telling the driver that I would hire the whole bloody thing and don't stop for anyone else. Seemed a crazy setup
  21. Good try, but did not work. With your gun mentality you may not realize that they squirt water As I have mentioned before, I did own a gun in my younger days to go deer shooting. Now I have trouble killing a fly. Some people develop, others dont. Got rid of the gun when I stopped the habit of shooting things. I find that where I live there is no need for self protection. Well not with a gun anyway.
  22. Sorry , are you talking about "the" Woodstock. Probably the best ever gathering of bands ever! Will never see another event like that. Think of the quality of the electrical and sound equipment then compared to now. No huge screens etc. Just great music from great bands. To me headlined by Jimmy Hendrix who appeared last. Was never a follower of his until then. Joe Cocker, Santana Jefferson Airplane , the Who, and even surprised myself by liking Joan Baez. Nothing like it will ever happen again. The nearest being Live Aid.
