Mods please feel free to move this post if you see fit. been in Bangkok a few days now. Have only seen it this quiet during holidays. There a lot less traffic and the couple of Times I have been on the bts /mrt. Sat yesterday at my perch in paragon Right outside of Au non pain. It’s a great place to people watch and the watch some of the talent both local and farang pass by.It was much quieter than usual. Also this morning I saw some of the worst pollution or smog here in Bangkok I’ve ever seen. I haven’t been out and about to the bars here are usually don’t go out that much but I am sure it’s definitely a buyers market. There’s a lot less people about. I would say it’s actually a good time to visit Bangkok and I’m sure pattaya is probably the same. Make of that what you will I know this information is anecdotal but I have to say it’s a lot quieter here than it should be.

My 2 cents: I have been to Katty a few times and have had a great time on each visit. Once, two buddies and I made the trip and we outnumbered the girls. Only Teya and Suny were there. That night ended we all ended up having a great time. Had a nice little party for about 2 1/2 hours due to the friendliness and great attitudes of both the girls. Another night there were 5,6 girls there and again I had a nice time. The bar is on the quiet side and thats not really a bad thing. Theres no bullshit buy me drink as soon as you get there. The times I have bought girls drinks, they stayed with me flirted and I might have had a couple of gropes/kisses. Take that for what it worth. I will vote with my feet/baht and, no, I dont have any financial interest whatsoever in Katty Bar. I will support it anytime I am in Pattaya, which isnt too much, as its a fun place to hang out and I would like to see it succeed.

Actually, airlines here in the US of A have a policy for "POS" the PC vernacular is "People Of Size". All arguments, beefs problems should be brought up and dealt with BEFORE the aircraft door is closed!!!!

I am thinking about/supposed to transit via Hong Kong in about three weeks. Those plans are on hold and I can also go via Tokyo.....

PD I thought if you used a credit card you would have protection in case the flight got canceled or the airline went under......

I would take it. The worst thing that will happen is they cancel the flight, hopefully with some advance notice.....Seriously doubt they you will make it to China then you will be forced to stay there.

I have heard pretty much the same thing. Know someone who works in a hotel where many of these touring Chinese stay. Hotel occupancy went form 100% to 10% in four days. Mass cancellations. This just hit so staff will get paid in full at the end of the month. Next month who knows? Layoffs to come probably. The Thai economy hasnt been going great anyway. This will hurt even more. Dont know why the baht is so high. The current "government" doesnt help as its totally inept. You guys think we have problems in the West?? It pales in comparison.......just food for thought.
