  1. For food I'd say go to Tsim Sha Tsui (TST), as it has a great choice of restaurants, much cheaper than Central has. 3 course Set Lunches in pubs and mid-range eateries there are only 8 to 10 USD during weekdays. Good bars there as well. Go to Yau Mau Tai and Mongkok at night for shopping - Temple Street Market, for example Try Sham Shui Po too, it has loads of copy and legit computer stuff in the Golden Shopping Centre, just outside the MTR station. Drinking and eating there are as cheap as chips, complete with a sleazy ambiance as it is a bit of a red light district. If you need a girl, check the Miss148 or 161sex websites - they have the pics, addresses and prices of hundreds of hookers all over HK. For example, a pretty young Thai hooker in an apartment in Sham Shui Po will cost about 35 - 40 USD all-in for a half hour of sex. Chinese girls are often slightly more expensive. While in HK get an Octopus Card at any MTR station, you can use it to pay on all the public transport, 7-11s, McDonald's, in fact most shops, saving a lot of hastle. For sightseeing I'd just go on the MTR, head to the New Territories and get of at random stations. Look around, it's a whole other world. Or, head to the outlying islands such a Lamma or Peng Chau - you can get a ferry from the outlying islands ferry pier in Central.

  3. I live in Hong Kong, and it's a lot cheaper than UK cities for many things (eg taxis). Dining, boozing and whoremongering can be cheap too, if you know where to go. But, if you go to Lan Kwai Fong and Wanchai as suggested above, expect to pay high prices, as these locations are for tourists, rich locals, or businessmen with generous expense accounts.

  5. Bloody hell DT, you like Queensryche as well? Great stuff, I didn't think anyone on here would also be a fan!!!!
  6. Lez Miz, Miss Saigon, JC Superstar, Little Shop Of Horrors, Rocky Horror, Hair, etc, all brilliant works in my oppinion. I also love many of the rock operas and concept albums from the likes of The Who, Queensryche, ELO, Pink Floyd and Rush. I'd love to see what the American Idiot production is like, because I think it's one of the best rock albums of the last 20 years.

  10. Hound's right, I reckon none of us go to Thailand for the stimulating conversation with the wonderful locals, nor the beaches, temples or other tourist attractions. Though still working in Hong Kong, I've lived in Mainland China the last 4 years. I went with no preconceptions of Mainland Chinese people, but have developed a deep loathing and contempt for them, based on the disgusting, ignorant and filthy behavior that I've witnessed first hand. But I'm still here, probably for the same primary reason that almost every male visits Thailand for - cheap and abundantly available sex.
  11. Yep, all those additional charges Air Asia bury out-of-sight when you're booking online are a right royal pain in the arse. Still, they've got some nice looking birds as flight attendants. Gives you something to look at during your flight while you're contemplating whether or not to pay well over the odds for a piss-poor cup of coffee and a tepid bowl of noodles.
  12. I got a nice price, and fly to Bangers tomorrow night Lovely slanty-eyed angels, Air Asia are!
  13. Hong Kong. I got back to my flat after work, late in the evening, and switched on the telly (there were only 2 English channels then)to be faced with the flaming towers on screen. I thought it must be a movie, but it kept cutting back to the HK studio's anchorman, who was visably shaken, and it dawned on me that this was real. The anchor was an American Chinese guy, and he really struggled with his emotions as he provided commentry to the events unfolding on screen.
  14. Thanks for the heads up. I just checked the website, and return flights from Hong Kong are about 800 HKD, totalling less than 1400 once all the taxes, surcharges and other fees have been added. That's just about 110 Quid, so I'm highly tempted to pop over there for a short stay in a fortnight or so.
  15. 'Blow Row' is the nickname for A.Santos street (if I remember correctly). It has a number of very small bars (with backrooms) open 24/7 that are short-time places. They are staffed by young ladies who offer a BJ or full sex for the princely sum of 700 Pesos (about 10 Quid). You can take them to your hotel, or do it on the premises. Be warned, the rooms are very rough, and make the Soi 6 rooms look 5-star in comparison Bars I've been to there and can recommend are 'Honky Tonk', 'Black Pearl' and the aptly named 'Gobbles'. I don't think any of these bars have LBs. However, there are always small groups of LBs at the top of the street at night, just standing about on the lookout for punters.
  16. I've been to Angeles City 6 times or so in the last 2 years, but have never yet bedded an LB there. I've seen lots at night though, loitering on 'Fields Avenue' and the top of 'Blow Row'. They mooch around in small groups in the shadows, calling out to passing punters The ones I've seen have been a bit rough looking mostly, just lads with a bit of slap on their faces wearing dresses. They must be freelancing and I'd guess would be available for 1000 pesos or less, maybe 500. Last month while I was there I saw that the 'Edelweiss' bar has a rather cute FB working on the door. She'll be available for an early release, same as the dancers, which should cost 1300 - 1500 for the lot.
  17. Back in 94 I left Geordieland to make a go of it in Hong Kong, but had a stopover in Thailand along the way. During that visit, I was a regular at a small beer-bar on the 2nd road in Pattaya. The mamasan at this bar was a young cutie, only 18. The bar belonged to her 'boyfriend' a European guy called Willie or something similar, who entrusted the running of the bar to her. He spent most of the time in his home country and sent her regular payments to ensure she didn't need to screw guys for money. He housed her in a posh apartment replete with all mod-cons in south Pattaya. I know this as I slept with her in it a few times. She'd taken a liking to me, and had her wicked way with me quite a number of times. Gratis of course, she was bored and wanted a bit of fun. I remember she always refered to Willie as her boyfriend, but otherwise slagged him off to me all the time. I wasn't allowed to stay in the apartment until morning time for fear a neighbour would spot me leaving it and report her infidelity to Willie. I didn't feel any guilt at shagging this bird, as it was between her and me and we both enjoyed our fling. To me, he was a mug, and she was a hooker bleeding as much out of him as she could. They deserved one another. To this day, I still can't understand the logic behind these guys who sponsor working girls and view them as girlfriends. Here's the gal. Memories....
  18. I'm suitably chastised and will try to avoid sweeping statements in the future.
  19. Thanks Larry, I'll check those out.
  20. I haven't been banished from the other site, but I've watched with growing dismay as some of the best writers on it disappeared. I'm so glad to have found them on here! Guys like Lung, KenW and Robbo contribute such intelligent, sparkling, funny and gritty stuff, and they tell it like it is. It's an absolute pleasure to read the threads on here. The other site has become dominated by a bunch of love-sick sanctimonious BMs in my opinion, and they seem to police the site. Which leads me to another minor irritant of mine - guys who pay prostitutes to be their companions but belive them to be their actual 'girlfriends' who love them back, and proclaim this as fact to the rest of the world. It's that last bit that gets on my tits. I just can't understand the self-deception, justifying the regular 'payments' as helping them out or gifts or whatever. These girls are with you for money, full stop. I had a middle-aged friend here in China, who took a very young Chinese bar girl as his girlfriend. She's a gorgeous busty vixen, while he's a bald fatty older than her dad. He, however, unashamedly admits he's with her just for the regular hot sex and is happy to financially take care of her to ensure it. No pretence of love, just a mutually convenient business relationship. I'm fine with that, at least he's being honest with himself, unlike most of these long-distance sponsor boyfriends who are likely being taken for a ride. No offense intended to anyone being taken for a ride, just my cynical opinion.
  21. Can anyone suggest a nice hotel for Jomtien, as I've never stayed there in my 30-odd Pattaya trips? I will be visiting in August with a girlfriend and another couple. They want a nice hotel right on the beach, with WiFi & all mod-cons, preferably under 3k Baht per night. Usually I stay in a cheap dive in Soi Honey Inn for 500 Baht, so I'm not familiar with the posher places.
  22. Being a Geordie, and therefore a bit thick obviously, I don't know much about this new-fangled Twitter thingamy. Do I have to go onto Twitter and create my own account in order to follow your June adventures?
  23. Quite superb, Ken! Please keep it coming.
  24. Here's a Soi 6 girl from my visit last summer.
