The arguement here is that medical costs from smoking more than out weigh the the income generated. Whether that is true is often debated. Taxes here on tabacco are so high now it must generate a lot of $$$. I disagree with DT's point above although that doesn't mean government here isn't mostly for sale. I smoked cigarettes for over 20 years and 2012 is my 20th year of not smoking. Quitting was one of the best things I ever did in my life. But I haven't accomplished a lot. Now that I can enjoy most indoor places in the US being smoke free I spend months every year in SE Asia where smoking is still allowed. Go figure...

Welcome 360, good info. There are several street bars in this short stretch of sidewalk between Soi 4 and the Landmark Hotel service road. I've taken LBs from two of them. Seems to be mainly a LB area.

Anyone have any further info on Bay Breeze. I sent them an Email asking about LB joiners but they didn't reply. I don't know if they didn't bother to answer or like half the other hotels never get around to their Email.

Now there is one I never heard about. I've only been to Nagaworld once. Ate at the Italian restaurant that was pretty good. The blackjack rules are so against the players I would never gamble in the casino. But sounds like the nightclub is worth a look. I'll have to dress a bit better I guess as I was one of the few people I saw in Nagaworld wearing shorts. http://www.nagaworld.../darlin-darlin/ The music in Pontoon is so loud I usually avoid the place. I do a bit better in Heart but the tuk-tuk drivers always ask for some stupid amount of money when I come out with a date and it is late. So I have to move down the street a bit. I usually hit all the known LB bars from Naklua to Jomtien eventually and also troll for that hidden gem that could be in any bar. But might only hit the fringe bars once a trip. I usually have a night or two hitting a bunch of GG GoGos drinking cheap draft beers. I typically go home alone on these nights (on purpose) a bit too drunk.

I saw something on TV saying the locations were faux as well. An excellent idea for trip pictures to show the family after next trip...

LBs come and go and bars change their policies as to whether they even have LBs. But there have been times when I've been in PP that several bars had at least three (once four). Last time I was in PP there were three at Claudia, Candy Bar and Bar 136. I think Claudia now has none (or has that changed again). I took two LBs out of one bar on an earlier trip that had three and now I think it has none. Several bars with two last trip but they change over time. And a few bars with one and they change. I think my record is having a beer in 13 different hostess bars in one night on my way to learning the lay of the land. I enjoy the hunt. But admittedly I do often hunt as a lone wolf. It isn't Pattaya and hopefully never will be. But I have fun in PP and mostly do it via hostess bars. Unless things have changed drastically I hopefully will again. My glass is half full...

PP International Airport is right on the highway. They would need a big setback to create any distance.

In my experience 1000 ST in the Nana area. More like 500 Pattaya. To me everything is a bit more expensive in BKK.

The way I look at it is I likely would never get a hot young thing at home (I'm 50 something). And if I somehow got a young thing to come back to the US she would probably fool around on me or leave me altogether. So it servers her right that I fool around on her.

I should have mentioned, for those that could use SEA, the BKK-ICN-SEA flights have a terribly long layover in ICN on the way home. Since I can't sleep on planes I just get a hotel and sleep but it is an added expense. TC: Business Class from the U.S. to BKK is usually $4000 and up.

I also use to think football/soccer was boring. But during one of my early long trips to Pattaya I hooked up with a GG that was a big Liverpool fan. It was the year they kicked butt in the Champions League. And I was assimilated (much to my surprise). I still don't care much for the US pro league but do keep up somewhat with the EPL even when at home. We usually get a couple of live EPL and Champions League games a week in the US. Surprisingly we got every game of Euro 2012 on TV. There is still hope for Ken, or not.
