  1. Oh ok. Yes I’m sure he isn’t corrupt as the article implies.
  2. https://thethaiger.com/news/bangkok/wanted-police-superintendent-has-mansion-13-luxury-cars https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2171067/police-search-luxury-home-of-fugitive-cop-jo-ferrari The appalling story of the Mueng Nakhon Sawan Police suffocating a man to death while trying to extort him for 2 million baht continues with more and more shocking turns. Now details are emerging of the accused police station superintendent Pol Col Thitisan Utthanaphon’s luxury house on a large plot of land in Bangkok with 13 high-end cars. First, the superintendent was transferred to another precinct until video of the murder was posted online and immediately went viral. Today the Thai court issued warrants for the arrest of 7 of the police officers, including the superintendent, 4 of whom are in custody already. https://aseannow.com/topic/1228793-joe-ferrari-former-police-chief-has-29-cars-many-luxury-supercars-and-sports-models-on-a-43k-salary/ The chief of the Royal Thai Police General Suwat Chaengyodsuk sent in Pol Maj-Gen Noppasin Phoonsawat to try and find a fugitive police colonel at the center of a murder inquiry. Instead they found luxury cars - lots of them. Pol Col Thitisan Utthanaphol was not at his Ram Inthra home in Bangkok but there were 13 sports and supercars including Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Mercedes Benz models. The provenance of the vehicles is being investigated. It contained the names of 29 models amounting to hundreds of millions of baht. Not bad for someone who Daily News reported yesterday as earning just 43,330 baht a month. The cop known by the nickname of "Joe Ferrari" was one of the leading lights in the fight against drugs until his abrupt removal from the force after a drug suspect died in custody. The suspect was shown on a video being tortured by placing plastic bags on his head in an alleged extortion incident involving several officers.

In all fairness regarding the incompetence of Thailand, you guys got the Pfizer jab only around 6 months later than us in the privileged west. Thats not bad really and way sooner than I expected. Congrats. Did you have to pay for it? Why can't they get this to the thais...

  9. Thailand’s First Twin Deficit in Nearly a Decade Set to Hit Baht https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/thailand-first-twin-deficit-nearly-210000490.html (Bloomberg) -- Thailand is heading for a rare current account deficit this year with the country missing out on the billions of dollars earned from tourism, likely piling more pressure on the nation’s already battered currency. The reversal of fortunes for Asia’s worst-performing major currency this year echoes the damage wrecked by the pandemic on Thailand’s economy. With the nation reeling under the deadliest phase of the Covid outbreak so far, authorities have imposed growth-sapping restrictions on businesses and movement. That’s dented any chances of a quick recovery and plans for a wider reopening of borders to foreign visitors, who contributed more than $60 billion to the economy before the pandemic.
  10. How will this work out? While I welcome getting rid of filthy notes, I find it hard to see implemented in soi 6/1. I have a friend who stashes his 500b note in his shoe 5x100b all over his outfit when cruising soi 6/1 at 4am, and has a real aversion to smartphones. How will he pay now? Thailand CBDC Trial to Test Use as Cash Substitute https://finance.yahoo.com/news/thailand-retail-cbdc-trial-test-085620489.html The Bank of Thailand said its central bank digital currency pilot program planned for the second quarter of next year will test its use as a cash-like payment system. The central bank will test the CBDC for “cash-like activities within a limited scale,” such as paying for goods and services, Assistant Governor Vachira Arromdee saidThursday. A CBDC could become an alternative payment option in the future as a partial substitute for cash and e-money, with demand increasing over time. Involvement will be sought from the private sector and technology developers, with the Bank of Thailand deciding the criteria for participation. The bank said that the CBDC would be non-interest bearing and would be distributed to the general public by intermediaries like financial institutions. Conditions or limits on the amount of CBDC that can be held will also be established. Arromdee said in a news conference that a CBDC wouldn’t affect monetary policy or money supply in the system, according to a Reuters report.
  11. I know where he had that watch stashed. One of Walkens best scenes. There are so many though.
  12. Sorry to hear about all this. In Europe the delta variant is considered a lot less dangerous than the original strain. Transmission is increasing basically everywhere but few need hospital care like a year ago. The 3rd vaccine booster is planned for early next year. Covid-19 is now classed as an endemic and something we have to live with for a foreseeable future, like a flu with annual vaccine shots.
  13. BBG, you really need to keep better track of your lady:

  15. Can you function as a spiritual leader? I do think all these lost souls need some sort of guidance. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Guru,_No_Method,_No_Teacher The album title is evocative of a 1966 quotation by Jiddu Krishnamurti: "...there is no teacher, no pupil; there is no leader; there is no guru; there is no Master, no Saviour. You yourself are the teacher and the pupil; you are the Master; you are the guru; you are the leader; you are everything."[3] One of favorite songs ever:

    Coronavirus

I guess BBG wont be attending a Jason Isbell concert. Great cowpoke artist. Texas Venue Called ‘Hitler’ for Hosting Vax-Only Jason Isbell Concert https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-country/covid-vaccine-texas-isbell-concert-billy-bobs-1211942/ When Billy Bob’s Texas, the 40-year-old Fort Worth honky-tonk mecca, announced earlier this week that it was hosting a concert by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and enforcing Isbell’s Covid vaccination policy for entry after a different Fort Worth venue wouldn’t, the venue’s general manager says he spent the days that followed being called “Hitler.” But Marty Travis, the GM and face of Billy Bob’s, is unfazed. “I don’t care if they call me Janet Jackson. Let’s just get to the show and have a good time and move on to our next gig. It’s not that big a deal,” Travis tells Rolling Stone. “But, man, it is Uproar City down here, like I ripped a picture of the pope in half.”
  18. Yes, a Line group where you can pay 1000b for a short video clip.
