    Phnom Penh update

Good trip Syl. Hope to meet up in November.
  4. "Hitler, had only one big ball, Himmler, had 2 but they were very small..." ooops, sorry, off topic there a bit.
  5. Yes, bb, I still remember with great fondness that very day you speak of. I recall as we walked along a footpath on one, maybe the first, of our regular route marches around the capital, we began exchanging small trivial details about each other. You told me your family name was the most common of Irish family names. I would not have been able to assume the answer to that so walked along in silence for a few steps. Then you looked sideways at me as we marched, grinned that lovely impish smirk of yours, and said "Bee." We both laughed out loud. I thought that was such grand wit. (Later, in more mundane sentences, we exchanged actual names.) It was indeed the Golden House, on 136 St. Yes, Sam it was the helicopter hotel. But I forgot to mention, the most recent time I stayed there, must be 2 years ago now, the copters were all gone. Same family still running the hotel, but young hubby must have moved his hobby toys into a warehouse or shed or hangar somewhere else.
  6. Yep. Flexibility the key. Ah, so yoga does have some advantages...always wondered. I tried for years as a teenager & young man but way too stiff in the back. Could never get anywhere close. Gave up in fear of doing some damage & ending up in a wheelchair. Then I realised if I wanted to suck cock, there were millions of them available, & off I went down that path... All roads lead eventually to Sunee.
  7. Here's a gossip load about a new match in Hollywood. http://www.gossipjacker.net/2015/07/keanau-reeves-dating-transgender-actress.html Best of luck to them both. EDIT: With much embarrassment, it is Jamie Clayton. Thanks to rxpharm for pointing out my brain fade. But Mods, I can't find a way to edit title of the topic. Help....!!!!!
  8. All very blurred now in terms of dates, but not so for events. It all began for me with videos hired & magazines purchased from my local adult shop. Circa 1980s. Got into salivating over advertisements on last part of classifieds in local tabloid. Then had my first LB experience when I phoned one of said. Weren't called LBs back then, as almost all were Caucasian (this in Australia) and self referenced as "trannies." In early 90s my passions were still secret, but I eventually fessed up to one of my mates, who occasionally posts here as bubba. He had become a regular visitor to Thailand, & I discreetly as I could sought his advice on where all the LBs were. (I knew nothing of Thai geography.) He not only told me but calmly informed me about being on LBP, recommending I join. I did. Next thing - I was retired & living in Vietnam - I was holidaying in Pattaya as well as Phnom Penh. All good fun. Then the shit hit the fan on that LBP forum & I got kicked off the very same night Lung (from Chiang Mai) got booted. We managed to exchange email addresses before the lights went out. A few weeks later - would this have been about 2010? - he emailed me saying he had joined this lovely friendly forum, LBR. I joined immediately. Meeting up with said bubba sometimes, and on my travels getting to know Pdoggg, bumblebee, dixon cox & others was marvellous. Comrades in arms, as it were. On subsequent travels I met many others including the likes of Kahuna, BigTel & SiamSam. All these men I consider the best of friends. Some of our evenings in Sunee we must have had 15 or 16 guys chewing the fat (so to speak) over wines or beers. Then of course there were the GOTCs where we all met many new faces. And the PBG sessions. It's been a wonderful journey. May it continue till I'm on my last legs. As for the nickname, Ken has been a nick I have used on many forums over the years. As I have said elsewhere I chose it originally out of interest in the Japanese actor Watanabe Ken.

Good for her. So sick of all the shit that has gone down over this. But so glad for her & her family.
  10. yes bb, I can see him swooning from here.
  11. Just on the team members (ha) shown, I'd have to choose the Thais. The dark skin gets me every time.
  12. I just make sure I go to Walking St with Big Tel. With him beside me - looking out for little brother - I can totally relax, while still be absolutely aware of where my pockets & hands are.

I'm currently 30 pages out from end of Gargantua & Pantagruel, by Francois Rabelais. It has taken me best part of 6 months; 780 pages of not-easy reading; quite dense at times. Written in 1500s, translated into English 100 or so years after that. It is a classic in all senses of that term. I have enjoyed it very much. His use of language matches other early giants like Shakespeare. And the sense of fun, of comedy of outrageous proportions is sometimes breathtaking, especially when he mixes it with what you might politely call "very earthy language." Highly recommended, but only for serious readers wiling to take on big, often hard, task.

Never read it. No inclination to read "new" one either. Did see the movie when I must have been early teens. Don't recall it, really.

Thanks Tc, I've heard of Brian Greene but never read any of him. I find Paul Davies a bit lite, having waded through 3 or 4 of his books. Sucha buzz for bb to find his grand-da on a book cover. Whoeee. Topic sounds fascinating as well. Like to hear your thoughts once you've read it. Going back to pd's opener, I bought & read My Life back when it was first published. I have to say I enjoyed it very much. The guy can write - whether you liked him as a president or not. (I did.)
  18. That time previous POTUS was treated like a rock star everywhere he went. Crowds thronged the routes. People in Saigon still point to a now-famous pho shop called Pho 2000 and say: "that's where President Clinton ate pho." This time? Nothing. I have only learned just now from this thread that he's in the country - or was.
  19. Happy Canada day to Sam & et and any other Cnuks here.
  20. The visa thing is a furphy to sound good & help boost a bit of short term (15 days or less) tourism on occasion of Dreamliner route beginning. The real story is that VN has cracked down hard on visas for both visitors & expats. Expat visas have been cut to no more than 3 months - no more 6 months or year visas available without work permits. And the cost has about quadrupled as of early this year (2015). What used to cost me to renew a 3 month visa (about 40 or 45 USD) now costs me about 180 USD. And whereas we could always renew through travel agent, now after 2 renewals we have to leave the country if we want a third one back to back. Mostly this just means a border run to Cambodia, but it's still a fucking nuisance. Word among bitter expats is VN government no longer wants us in country - or wants to cut our numbers anyhow. And yes lance, that's true about the shrink examination for marriage. I think they just want to confirm to themselves that only the insane ones would contemplate marriage to VNese women.
