  1. Not all bad news though.
  2. I was given a bottle of Jamesons Black Barrel triple distilled Irish Whiskey, opened it tonight to watch England Women v US Women football (soccer!) match.
  3. I didn't know him personally but liked his posts about his exploits here and on the other forum. I did nominate him last year and will again.
  4. Interview in France24. https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20221005-joy-tinged-with-fear-for-brazil-s-first-trans-congresswomen

  6. Australian Woolworths renamed it as Chicken Kyiv after Russian invasion. UK Sainsburys also renamed it as Chicken Kyiv then, other supermarkets wouldn't citing tradition. But since then Marks & Spencers have renamed it. Other UK supermarkets, eg Tesco, ASDA, Iceland and Waitrose still call it Chicken Kiev.
  7. UK TV channels call it Kyiv, pronounced 'Kee-yiv', as do the Ukrainians I've seen on tv.
  8. Three trans MPs have been elected to the Brazilian Parliament this week. https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2022/10/03/brazil-trans-parliament-election-erika-hilton-duda-salabert/
  9. The US provided military hardware to European countries to fight the Nazi/fascist Axis during WW2 to be paid for later.
  10. There was a lbr thread about Koyo 7. https://www.ladyboyreview.com/index.php?/topic/6714-did-koyo-7-have-the-best-pattaya-location-for-a-ladyboy-bar-ever-or/
  11. No, Linda's Bar is at street level, and I think it's still there. I had a look around and I think it was Koyo 7 which closed in 2012. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3z74R7Y5GTI
  12. I think that would be the lb bar on right hand side just as you came into Walking Street. The lbs would dance at the front so everyone below could see them. The little cubicle was used for sts. I can't remember the name of the bar. I only went there once ten years ago. Thanks for the TR Rom, good to get an update on Pattaya. I haven't been there for years, I stayed in Jomtien in recent years, but I'll be there in Jan/Feb.
  13. Whisky/whiskey is made from grains. Brandy is made from grapes. Rum is made from sugar cane molasses. Sangsom is made from sugar cane molasses so it is rum. I don't know why Thais call it a whisky, TIT?
  14. I think it was the US lending money to European countries for reconstruction after World War 2. But it came with strings.
  15. Hi @Spot bar! Where are you located?
  16. The main taste would be the Pepsi. I might as well drink Sangsom & Coke!
  17. Will PD be in the stocks because he caused a recession by not paying his Tbills for a year or two? I hope you are paying your coffee bills on time.
  18. It does look from Rom's pics that Em is keeping the bar and will be looking into re-opening if things do get better. Not sure when that might be with the current economic situation in Europe.
  19. You are right. Tastes bitter and smoky/peaty to me. I like Jamesons Irish whiskey as it is matured in oak casks which were previously used to mature sweet sherry, which gives it a sweet taste. That's why I like the cheap Spanish brandy too, which has a sweet taste.
  20. I've never tried American bourbon. I don't usually drink spirits. In UK winter I'll have some Jamesons Irish whiskey or a cheap Spanish brandy on a cold dark night. In los I generally stick to red wine or beer.
