  1. Just as well for me that won't be happening in the near future! Thanks for the Trip Report Rom! An interesting and useful read.
  2. Soviet Union (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) around 27 million killed.
  3. Good to have on the ground reviews Sylvester. I'll be there in January and intend to visit KRU and Delirious bar, I've never been to a gogo before, apart from when May took me to a gay gogo in BoyzTown years ago.
  4. Thank you for the generous offers bbg and Sylvester, but your money is safe - that ain't going to happen. I too shy!
  5. Marsha I do live in London. Thanks for the invitation but I'd be too scared to meet you!
  6. A postman friend used to deliver to his house in the Eighties. He asked Robbie if he would perform at a local Comedy Benefit Night for striking miners during the 1984/5 Miners Strike. Robbie was happy to do so. A good man. RIP Robbie.

    Coronavirus

I'd had four Pfizer jabs but still got covid at beginning of July. Felt like a cold with sore throat. Not too bad perhaps because I'd had the jabs. I think it was probably the omicron variant. I took it easy, taking ibuprofen for the sore throat. Lasted about 4-5 days, but still tested positive after five days, only tested negative after ten days. I was invited to take another booster jab three weeks ago. But when I went to vaccination centre I was advised that they were still giving Pfizer and that I should wait until the new Moderna Omicron version was available which should be in about six weeks. I got a letter yesterday again inviting me for booster, but will wait another three weeks when the new version should be in use.
  8. And there are some BMs I wouldn't want to meet, especially the resident troll stalker. They wouldn't want to meet me either!
  9. I was in Jomtien this year, Jan-Feb. But I didn't need to post on this thread. I go to los for a break from UK winter not primarily to meet up with BMs. I did meet some because I spent most nights in Emmy's Bar and the BMs who live around Jomtien hang out there so I would bump into them anyway. I had posted on other threads that I would be in town. I didn't go into Pattaya. I heard it was pretty much dead.
  10. That would have been for Deepthroat's birthday party iirc. May got up and danced on the bar.
  11. I'm sorry to hear this. I met May ten years ago at Horny Bar and spent almost every night of my trip with her. Good company, cute with a good sense of humour. RIP May.
  12. I'll take another guess. Hugh Trevor-Roper. He is/was a historian, and has a double barrelled name which would impress Americans. Edit: I didn't see Soju's post above when I made this suggestion.
  13. I'm not good at authors. I did watch the Greyhound movie. I have it on dvd but won't cheat by looking at the cover. I'll take a guess that it's Frederick Forsyth.
  14. I agree. Can Mods look at this?
  15. Evan Williams Bourbon doesn't seem to be available in supermarkets here (tesco used to stock it), but is sold by online whiskey specialists for around £27 (US $30) + postage.
  16. Apparently Jim Beam Black Label is no longer produced. It isn't available generally in off-licences (liquor stores) or supermarkets here, but a couple of whiskey specialist online sellers seem to have some remaining stock, at £27.90 (US $31) plus postage £4.95.
  17. Thanks for the suggestion @Ashoka! I had a look at prices here and the 9 year old Knob Creek is £36 (US $40) for a 70cl bottle, similar to the Jamesons Black Barrel at £37. But the regular Jamesons is half the price at £18, so I'll stick with that as my whiskey of choice.
  18. I drink Jamesons neat, especially this one as it was an upgrade. The Black Barrel Jamesons is matured in charred barrels which gives it a bit of a smoky drier taste though it still has the sweet undertones. Nice but I prefer the standard Jamesons really. I usually add some water when I'm drinking the cheap Spanish Brandy.
