That's it in a nutshell , if you are in Pattaya and around a while you can bide your time in most instances . You could even ahem ..ahem... get the phone number of someone you fancy . The other side of the coin as I have learn't in Bangkok is say somewhere like Cascade you have to go for it and grasp the nettle if you will . Many times in BKK I've put off barfining some beauty only to pick up some stinker of the streets at 5 am .

I tend to agree and once you strip away the misty eyed Scottish Nationalism he hasn't a lot new to say nor has his party . I would still support independence though .

I think the advantage is that the bully or the boaster or just outright wanker will not find a little gang of cheerleaders here to spur him on in his childlike activities , without that oxygen they don't hang around . OK that might mean a quieter forum but that's a price worth paying . Funny thing is too in my experience is the nasty keyboard warriors are usually boring and with little social skills when you meet them in real life . I hope for a Yes majority but sadly all the bullying and misinformation from the establishment parties - Conservative and Labour will probably be enough for a slight majority for the No camp . Then again warning people that the sky will fall in if they vote yes has had an adverse affect thus far . I had a situation a few years ago late night in Bangkok at one of those street bars when a ladyboy I'd been with before tipped a jug of some kind of cocktail over my head for the apparent crime of talking to someone else . My instinct was to lift my hands but looking around there was gonna be only one winner and it wasn't me , Thai's everywhere and African guys . Even though I was raging I kept my wits about me paid my bill and walked away . Lung is correct with age comes wisdom , years ago I'd have hit out and worried about the rest later . Every cloud has a silver lining though , on my way back to my hotel I bumped into someone I'd always fancied who seemed quite amused by the situation and as I was all sticky she took me home and showered me .

I agree with you on the first part this wouldn't put me off the place , I quite like it for one or two drinks and this could have happened in any bar . And I don't blame the girls for not cooperating if it was one of my mates I'd do the same .

We tend to class people on our own personal experience but it would be wrong to class all Russians or anyone else for that matter as having no manners , being rude etc etc . Perhaps it is the destination they visit that holds the key to this ? Pattaya doesn't exactly attract the creme de la creme of Thai society or any other society , there are some scary looking sorts from all races and nations knocking around . Its more to to with a cheap holiday destination , cheap hotels , food , alcohol etc etc etc same as the Med was back in the 80's til it cleaned up its act . I mean why on this earth would anyone want to go to Pattaya for a family holiday ?
