  1. IMO bin Laden is dead, shot in the face by SEAL team members and his body dumped at sea to prevent acolytes from visiting his grave, which would have become a shrine. I won't buy the books of those asshole team members either, fuck giving them money for telling a story which should remain amongst their brethren. And, really, have these a-holes given any thought that their families are now in danger, and for years to come? Some lunatic would love to take one of them out, saying "I shot the wife of the guy who shot bin Laden!" These guys put their own lives and the lives of their families at risk just to make a few bucks; pathetic. As for the GOP, I seriously have no clue how anyone can vote for any of those people. Sure, Obama has been a disappointment and the Dems aren't any better, but why on earth would anyone vote for a party which; wants to tell women what to do with their bodies [mainly based on a 2000 -year old book of children's fables], allows more tax cuts for the rich and for corporations, allow those same corporations to give unlimited amounts of cash to political candidates, is against raising the minimum wage, is against unions, is FOR more guns, deny global warming, deny fucking EVOLUTION, wants to charge kids more money in interest for student loans, wants "boots on the ground'' in more places, spread fear on a daily basis.....the latest one is Ebola; do you know that O.J. has killed more people in America than Ebola has?....etc, etc...... again, how anyone can vote for them, especially a woman, is against all things sane and rational. My favorite guy in all of America is Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont. Looks like he will be running in 2016, but he really has no chance. Damn shame.

  2. I do not think you should be a dedicated purist in anything, except, perhaps, your religeous belief,in case you choose to have one,and your football team!.When it comes to sex,or relations, give yourself the freedom to try all what life has to offer.

  3. Bernie is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never heard him say anything I did not totally agree with. As for Obama being a disappointment, IMO, only because the obstructionist Repukes wouldn't allow him to do everything he wanted. The country by all measure is in much better shape now than when he took over the mess left by that god damned worthless Dubya.

  6. if this law passes, and its a big if, it would be a disaster. Fortunately it t has been proposed before and killed off by sane heads. The exceptions would be BOI companies and Amity treaty companies; and possibly ASEAN companies. Others, especially Japanese, would be insane to open new companies and would probably be forced to sell off their existing companies rather than continue to put up the money but not have control.

  8. Funny, I just posted how Japanese investment could 'save' Thailand and then I read this http://www.bangkokpost.com/business/news/442272/japan-envoy-warns-of-investor-exodus This is what I meant by 'shocks', the Thai's doing something incredibly stupid

  9. Interesting article, but there is a huge difference between now and 1997. In 1997 the Thai Baht was pegged to US Dollar and international borrowing was USA denominated. When the Thai's could not support the Baht it was like the titanic hitting the iceberg, the economy crashed overnight. Today the Baht is not pegged and most Bonds are denominated in Baht, so while the economy does suck its not going to crash over night its just going to slow down ( maybe, a lot ). Thailand might have just found a bit of luck though, Japan has just announced 'expansionary measures' including printing money and investing their huge pension portfolio in domestic and foreign stocks. That Japanese money could easily find its way to Thailand (since the two biggest Asian economies China and S Korea dislike the Japanese). Snick's prediction , sub par growth in the 1% to 3% range. With a recession possible if there are any 'shocks'. Some kind of government action for personal debt relief, lots of a mega-projects to try and help economy (and help corruption). Continuing weakness in Baht especially compared to USD, and a strong possibility of a stock market 'correction' (i.e. sudden 10% drop). But like most forecasts, I could be wrong and its real hard to know WHEN this could happen, the stock market could tank next week or in 2 years. Crisis always take longer to develop then you think and then strike faster. PS I'd probably be a buyer after a 15% drop, I did that last time it happened and made some good $$$

  11. I came across an interesting factoid about China a few years ago. As it is a command economy & not a free market system, when they release their GDP figures they include in the positive column the amount of housing built, not housing sold like most countries do. So what exists there now are numerous, elaborate entire "ghost cities" (as opposed to just buildings) that are almost completely unpopulated (unsold) but this amount of expenditure on materials, employment, production, etc without any consumption (profit) are all totalled up as pluses for their economy, unlike the rest of world's GDP numbers. So I suspect this may help the floor fall out from their economy.

  12. More science fiction coming into reality - this time Star Trek food synthesizers. Here's a CNN article about a company that has developed a 3D food printer. Next thing you know Klingon "Gaak" will be on the menu!

  13. I certainly don't wish any nasty economic straits on anybody, but I do remember that my second trip to LOS was half as expensive as my first trip the year before & that sort of sealed the deal for me as a regular return visitor along with a couple of other things. And Bali that year was as cheap as anyplace I have ever visited, so I guess I would be lying if I said I wouldn't take advantage of it again. I also rationalized that I was helping the local economies by pumping dollars into them at a bad time. But I know there was a huge amount of suffering in the region then.

  14. 2014 Final Scores It was a Black and White Finish (Sensations in Black and Baby Boom in White) The standard of play has really improved and the top 5 bars are those that practiced and it showed. In spite of the torrential rain the matches were all completed on time. One critical point, in the deciding game between TJs and Baby Boom, was challenged. The referees actually referred to a Video of the action to confirm the point and decision. La Bamba were early as well..... Group Team Rank Won For Against A Sensations 1 3 106 64 B Baby Boom 2 3 99 62 B Kings Bar 3 2 92 82 A Check In 4 2 81 64 B TJs 5 1 77 65 A Stringfellows 6 1 51 82 B Temptations 7 0 61 120 A LaBamba 8 0 47 85 As the weather was so unpredictable the hotel recommended moving the evening indoors. The problem was that all the attendees were split amongst 4 loctions. The buffet was superb but the evening festivities were not as planned. The real result: The event raised 1,300,000 Baht with total expenses of 200,000 allowing the event to Donate 1,000,000 to Charity. The balance, of 100,000, will be used to finance another event or given to Charity The Auction, and 2 of the 3 Raffles, had to be cancelled due to the weather and no available PA system. That lost the event a possible 150,000. Some of that may be recovered by 'selling' off the items.
