Some Dongtan Beach vendors are having parties. PBG probably gets a good view of the sky laterns. Heard Chiang Mai has cancelled evening flights that night as the laterns pose a risk to the planes. Fortunately my shovelling days are behind me now. Sounds like you need a break from your LOS (land of snow) and take a wee little vacation to the other LOS.
