Guest sustra
they are originally from asia ( india...maybe ).....but as they are gypsies...who knows???? Quote Link to comment
Patrick
Actually yes I have a memory that ethnically they originated in the sub continent somewhere, but I'm not sure that all UK and Irish Gypsies/Travellers are necessarily from this same Romany stock. Probably more closely related to an ancient tribe of roofing lead theives. Quote Link to comment
Torurot
Mayhap from the thieves guild in the town of Ankh Morpork per chance? Sea Gypsies of Indonesia? Quote Link to comment

LOL.... yeah the travellers are a distinct ethnic group from the Roma gypsies, don't know any more than that about them tho. I was surprised to find out a number of years ago that there is a substantial group of them in the States that do the roofing/paving scams here during the warm weather. Iirc they are based somewhere out of the South & they are pretty prosperous too. Quote Link to comment
Lefty
The Christ statue is located near Key Largo Fla. There is another identical one located at the Bay of San Fruttuoso Camogli in Italy. There is a 3rd above water identical statue in Grenada. 1 Quote Link to comment

JaiDee
There is an American counterpart to Stonehenge.....not nearly as awe-inspiring, but some say it's almost as old. Â Â Which U.S. state is it in? Â Â Â Â Quote Link to comment
JaiDee
Yesss! Bolivia....I was hoping the sign on the left which says Santiago would perhaps lead people towards saying Chile, but the hats in Bolivia are usually a dead giveaway.   Any takers on where America's Stonehenge is? JaiDee
The 2nd Stonehenge is in New Hampshire, in the town of Salem about 20 minutes north of Boston. Â Â Â Â How about this place, maybe some people here have walked across it? Â Â Quote Link to comment
