I decided to be a cleverdick and not try to get down Middle Road to the hospital juncion, and turned right instead at the top of soi sansabai, turning left into soi Banzaan. Suddenly, despite being on the bike, i was knee deep in water. Fukkit! The bike died, and i pushed it 50 metres to dry land and optimistically pressed the Start button. To my amazement it coughed into life! I praised all the Japanese Gods and Mr Honda is beatified in my mind, and i was able to get home without further ado. I cursed that i hadn't dressed "Australian" though. Swim trunks and flipflops would have been much more suitable. As it is, i've probably ruined a good pair of shoes and a pair of linen trousers! Sheesh its ben quiet! And its been raining! A lot. Declined the kind taxi driver's offer to get me from the airport for a mere 800Bt + booking fee, and took a meter cab. Brand new Corolla, and still cost me 700 (including the booking fee). Doesn't seem like the DSI has had much effect, although i didn't see any Slow Loriese on show last night on Bangla. Plenty of irritating touts though. And lots of quiet bars. Seduction Disco has moved to spanking new premises - a year late! The burnt-out Tiger complex is taking shape "in time for High season". They think High Season starts in April? Yes, i know i should have taken a taxi, before you start! I must say Lala conducted herself admirably. She also reminded me of a memorable 5-some a few years ago when she was working at Koyo7 and i was on a Mission into Enemy Territory! Great girl.
