You couldn't make it up ! Thailand bans talking on trains ! https://aseannow.com/topic/1223892-thailand-bans-talking-on-trains-as-precaution-against-covid-19/?utm_source=newsletter-20210714-0546&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=news
  2. Guess it means a 'plorer' who has retired ! Or this - plorer - Wiktionary en.wiktionary.org › wiki › plorer plorer. to cry (shed tears) Conjugation . This verb conjugates as a first-group verb ending in -er. This verb has a stressed present stem pleur distinct from the unstressed stem plor. Old French conjugation varies significantly by date and by region. The following conjugation should be treated as a guide. 555555

    Thailand approves self-tests, self-isolation as COVID-19 cases climb https://www.yahoo.com/news/thailand-approves-self-tests-self-064412665.html
  4. Looks like SS is having full renovation done - also heard that it's still the same owner. What will it be ?
  5. Something to look forward to - 55555. "The Viper Bar" A GoGo ! Replacing Jomtien's No. 1 GoGo Bar at the bottom of Thappraya Road near the beach - across the road from Country Road Bar Crepe Emporium. I only looked in the No. 1 GoGo once it seemed a fairly dismal place. Not only No. 1 but the only GoGo in Jomtien. There was a short lived one on Rompho once. Looks like they've sent in the wrecking crew and given it a total makeover - thankfully getting rid of the awful AC-DC graphics (crap band too) on the windows. Allegedly the place was owned by the B.I.B. From what I gather The Viper Bar originated in Pratumnak till it was raided by the B.I.B. and shut down. Doubt there will be any LB's shuffling on the chrome poles - though the No. 1 Go Go did have a couple of LB Service Staff sat outside - presumably acting as 'Chuckers In' to fill the place up a bit. Any BM's venture in.? https://viper-bar.com/about-us/

  7. Talked to American down the pool and he went to the opening night - says the food was crap. What is Taco Bell - lost on me ?
  8. Very sad indeed. Saw Steve Earle a couple of times also - way back with the Dukes. First time seeing Townes live in 1991 was at a large community centre in Romily (somewhere between Stockport and Manchester). Also on stage was Guy Clarke, John Stewart (both now gone) and Peter Rowan. What a line up. !
  9. Townes Van Zandt - lucky enough to see him twice. The last time was in a pub in Doncaster (UK) playing to about 50 of us on a wet winters night. Superb. He was mightily chuffed when my chums informed him they has started up a pub/micro brewery and named it (after him) Townes Brewery. Produced some magnificent ales too.
  10. Saw Steve Earle and the Dukes a couple of times many years ago - outstanding !
  11. Not in Bangkok as mentioned above - move somewhere else - Klunk Klunk !
